As much as I hate to admit it, seems like Man City have got another gem on their hands in Marmoush. Two Egyptian kings in the league now! Omar Marmoush of Manchester City scores

Manchester City are practical, pragmatic. The ball has gone back to Ederson on two occasions and he's kicked it long. We know they like to play out from the back but it's all about being effective and they have been so far this afternoon.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Southampton 0-2 Bournemouth

Southampton make a double change for the second half as Yukinari Sugawara and Lesley Ugochukwu come on for Welington and Nathan Wood.

    Eddie Howe has acted.

He had to do something really as Newcastle were facing a very heavy defeat.

Kieran Trippier's misreading of Ederson's long ball downfield started this whole sorry mess off.

Why do Villa struggle at home against teams we should be beating comfortably? So frustrating. Time for an injection of Rashford with a sprinkle of Asensio.

  10. Postpublished at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    HT: Aston Villa 0-0 Ipswich

Rob Jones has given six red cards in 15 Premier League games this season, no referee has given more.

Ipswich can't complain too much about that one - a second yellow - for Axel Tuanzebe, who was in trouble as soon as he placed his hand on Morgan Rogers shoulder.

Its embarrassing being a Hammers fan just now. The defending and midfield play is just schoolboy level. Shocking. Brentford could and should be 4 up by now.

Does anyone else wonder why Potter's name kept coming up every time a position became available? Not breathtaking is it.

Mikel Merino celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Arsenal's goalscorer Mikel Merino, speaking to BBC MOTD about playing as a striker: "It was big news for me this morning when one of the assistants told me it was an option.

"It's the first time in my career that I have played this position, but the good thing is the way this team plays everyone knows what everyone has to do. Mikel told me to use my strengths and be in the box.

"I was in the right place at the right moment.

"I have not trained there once. I know what everyone has to do on the pitch.

"Tactically, we are a rich team and I just tried to emulate all these guys who are out injured.

"Today, in the first half, we didn't have control over what we wanted to have. The message was clear, and we tried to be calm and patient.

"You have to take advantage of your moment."

  13. 'We knew it was going to be tough'published at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    FT: Leicester 0-2 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We knew it was going to be tough. The first 20 minutes, we were too sloppy. It opened up the game a little bit. We didn't have a real threat and we weren't playing with enough urgency. We were much sharper in the second half. Mikel could give us something with Trossard off the left.

On Mikel Merino: "He certainly has. He has a sense of danger and great timing in the box. We were on the verge of about to get to a different level of anxiety. We were composed, scored two brilliant goals and could have scored one or two more.

On Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly: "Physically they are built in a really special way already. Emotionally and mentally, how composed they are, and how they make decisions on the pitch are really impressive so let them go.

"That's what we want. Let's go day by day and take a lot of positives from the second half but also know the first half wasn't good enough to win games."

  14. Newcastle 'flat as anything'published at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Manchester City 3-0 Newcastle

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Manchester City finished the half sitting deep. Newcastle just haven't laid a glove on them really.

I didn't see this performance coming from Newcastle, it's been as flat as anything. Credit also has to go to City for the way they've approached this first half and mixed the game up.
