    Kit Symons

Newcastle still look very nervous in their general play. But also with the long balls in. They are living dangerously to say the least.

Amadou Onana can't sort his feet out in a packed penalty area. It eventually comes to Pau Torres who searches for Ollie Watkins rather than take the shot on himself but it doesn't pay off.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Brighton

The M23 derby is catching fire now.

Jan Paul van Hecke is on the wind-up and almost pulls Maxence Lacroix's shirt off his back. Jaydee Canvot wasn't too happy about it and had a little shove.

  17. Harvey Barnes steps uppublished at 14:32 GMT

    Brentford 0-1 Newcastle

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at Gtech Community Stadium

With Anthony Gordon absent, the spotlight really was on Harvey Barnes today - and the Newcastle United forward has stepped up.

Great feet inside the box to create the opening and it's a clinical finish from him.

Barnes has impressed in the Champions League this season, but this is his first goal contribution in the Premier League. It already feels an important one given the start Brentford had made to the game.

The away end repeatedly roar: “Barnes will tear you apart again.”

  18. 'Bale or David Luiz-esque'published at 14:31 GMT

    Aston Villa 1-0 Bournemouth

    Dave Edwards
Former Wales midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra 2 at Villa Park

A stunning free kick from Emi Beundia.

It is so close, so hard to get up and over the wall. He almost knuckles it, Gareth Bale or David Luiz-esque.

  19. 'Really good finish from Barnes'published at 14:31 GMT

    Brentford 0-1 Newcastle

    Kit Symons
Former Premier League defender speaking on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Keith Andrews is clearly not happy. The first real promising attack from Newcastle.

They cut through the midfield and Woltemade tries to get there and it falls to Barnes. Two defenders fall for it and he chops back onto his left and that's a really good finish.

  20. 'What a move by Newcastle'published at 14:31 GMT

    Brentford 0-1 Newcastle

    Danny Murphy

That was such a good passing move by Newcastle for their goal. One of the few times they have done that so far, but it has paid off.

You can hear more from Murphy on MOTD at 22:30 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.
