Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on whether criticisms around his side not taking risks frustrate him: "We are not creating enough chances, which is the reality. It is my job to make sure we create more chances and improve at them.

"We work really hard on them every day. That is part of the play but also part of it is how aggressive we are on the pressure. Half transitions, full transitions - we need to be better in those situations."

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on a slight dip in form: "There will always be a little bit of the performances being up and down. In 60 games, there will be maybe 10-12 perfect games and 30 or so average game and then some below that. It is about being consistent enough. One thing is defeat, except Chelsea and Arsenal, the other games we have been competing in.

"We have still scored quite a few goals. My teams will always score goals and we will keep working hard on that."

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on facing Paris St-Germain after a disappointing performance last time out: "When you have bad performances that's when you need deeper analysis and then you talk about a bit of a reset - but a setback.

"We are in a fantastic four-game spell. Three very difficult away grounds. Two of the best teams in Europe we are facing inside three days and that's the challenge we want. There will be ups and downs and then it is how we react. I will move forward from it."

You are not going through life without setbacks, it is how you react."

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on whether it is vital to show attacking intent against Paris St-Germain after failing to find the back of the net in the north London derby: "The performance is always the most important thing. If you can do that on a consistent basis, you have a bigger chance of getting results.

"I watched the Arsenal game back, it was a tough watch. We weren't good, it was a bad performance and we aren't running away from that in any way. There was plenty of intent in terms of what we wanted to do but we weren't able to compete.

"We had 53 duels and second-ball situations, we came out on top in 17 of those. If you don't do those basics, it is very difficult to win football matches.

"I'm convinced we will bounce back with a good performance."

    BBC Radio 5 Live

On the latest episode of BBC Radio 5 Live's Monday Night Club, the panel discussed the building pressure on Thomas Frank after Sunday's 4-1 defeat against Arsenal in the north London derby.

Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton described the negativity around the Tottenham boss as "deeply unfair", adding that it has been exaggerated because the loss was to a fierce rival.

He went on to explain that the club's start to the season hasn't been "disastrous", with Tottenham one of only five teams still unbeaten in the Champions League and three points off top four in the Premier League.

Tottenham come into Wednesday's game unbeaten in the Champions League so far this season, with two wins and two draws.

Their form has been more patchy in the Premier League, however, where they have won just five of their opening 12 fixtures.

Four of these wins came away from home, and Frank will be relying on that resilience in the French capital, against the Champions League holders.

Spurs conceded four goals in the north London derby on Sunday, however, prompting the Dane to criticise his players' desire.

"We have to apologise to the people that support us every day," he said after the loss.

"They expected us to fight and today we didn't fight."
