Chelsea will recall a host of senior players, with none of their expected starters having travelled to Kazakhstan for the Uefa Conference League win against Astana.

Pedro Neto, who began Thursday's 3-1 win, serves a one-game ban after accumulating five yellow cards, while Reece James and Wesley Fofana are still injured.

The Blues may need to monitor Romeo Lavia, who was taken off as a precaution in the first half at Tottenham last weekend because of hamstring pain.

Brentford midfielder Vitaly Janelt returns after missing last weekend's win against Newcastle with a minor issue.

Kristoffer Ajer, who has not played for two months, is fit enough to start, according to head coach Thomas Frank.

However, Mathias Jensen, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Gustavo Nunes and Josh Dasilva remain sidelined.

Match facts

Head-to-head

  • Chelsea won their first Premier League match against Brentford courtesy of a Ben Chilwell goal at the Gtech Community Stadium in October 2021 but are winless in the subsequent five meetings (D2, L3).

  • The Bees have won all three of their Premier League games at Stamford Bridge, scoring a total of eight goals and conceding just one.

  • Thomas Frank's team can become the first side to win four consecutive top-flight fixtures away to Chelsea since Leeds did so between 1973 and 1991.

Chelsea

  • The Blues have won four league games in a row, scoring at least three times in each of the past three. The only time they have netted three goals or more in four successive top-flight fixtures was 70 years ago during their title-winning season in 1954-55.

  • Chelsea are the league's top scorers with 35 goals, four more than nearest rivals Brentford and Tottenham.

  • They have only lost one of their previous 12 Premier League London derbies (W8, D3).

  • Cole Palmer has been directly involved in a league-high 38 goals in 2024, scoring 25 and assisting 13. The last player to record 40 Premier League goal involvements in a calendar year was Mohamed Salah in 2018.

  • Palmer has the chance to score in four consecutive league appearances for the first time.

  • Jadon Sancho is vying to score in three successive top-flight appearances for the first time since February 2021, when he was at Borussia Dortmund.

  • Nicolas Jackson is set to make his 50th Premier League appearance.

Brentford

  • The Bees have taken one point from a possible 21 in away games this season, compared to 22 points from an available 24 at home.

  • The sole away league match in which they avoided defeat was last month's 0-0 draw at Everton. Southampton are the only other top-flight side to have earned just a single point on their travels this term.

  • Should Brentford concede at least twice in this game they will become the second club to both score and concede 30 goals or more after their opening 16 Premier League matches, following Leeds in 2020-21.

  • They have lost six consecutive top-flight away fixtures against London rivals since their 2-0 win at Chelsea in October 2023.

  • Yoane Wissa has 35 Premier League goals for Brentford, one short of the club record set by Ivan Toney.

  • Bryan Mbeumo's tally of nine Premier League goals equals his career-best figure set in each of the previous two seasons. He is vying to become the first player from Cameroon to reach double figures in a season.
