  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:15 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Savinho loops in a lovely ball to Erling Haaland at the far post but the striker's header is kept out well by Peter Vindahl.

He's getting a bit frustrated it seems.

Why don't Liverpool have Mo Salah stand in the centre circle on the half way line when defending a corner, like Rush used to do. The opposition will have to put 1 or 2 defenders with him and there's also the chance of them bringing him down. It also reduces the number of opposition players in our box.

  3. Arnautovic misses penalty for Interpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time

    Drama in Switzerland!

David von Ballmoos is the hero for Young Boys as he makes an incredible double save from a penalty to deny Inter Milan an opener.

Marko Arnautovic steps up to the spot after Jaouen Hadjam's foul, but the former West Ham striker is lacklustre with his strike and Von Ballmoos guesses the right way.

The Young Boys keeper gets back up quickly to stop the follow-up from Denzel Dumfries with his face. Brilliant goalkeeping.

  4. Postpublished at 21:12 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

Xavi Simons is a real talent and he's causing Liverpool problems tonight. You feel if RB Leipzig are going to get something from this game then it's going to come through him.

Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, is down and needs a minute after taking a rather sore one.

  5. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

    Steph Houghton
Former Manchester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

This is something that Man City will come against the 5-4-1 formation and for me Pep will want more goals.

Sparta have looked dangerous on the counter-attack. Another goal will do City good with regards to their confidence.

  6. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Manchester City would have been delighted to have got that goal early in the second half but with it now being chalked off they will have to regroup.

They know one goal may not be enough here.

  7. Postpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Nothing much has changed [for Prague].

As the second half progresses, I think if it stays 1-0, they've got to take that little bit of risk, half way through.

There'll come a time where they've got to loosen off and get a few bodies forward.

  8. Postpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is brilliant from Darwin Nunez, he didn't have a right to win that.

Cody Gakpo cannot believe he hasn't scored. That's three very good saves made by Gulacsi.

  9. Postpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

Encouragement for RB Leipzig and it comes from Xavi Simons again as he breaks forward and looks for Benjamin Sesko.

The ball is brilliantly cut out by the sliding Ryan Gravenberch.

  10. Postpublished at 21:08 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

Kostas Tsimikas lets fly from distance and it's quite clear why he hasn't scored for Liverpool yet.

  11. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Nathan Ake of Manchester City scores a goal which is later disallowed for handballImage source, Getty Images

It just hits Ake's wrist there.. and after Vindahl makes that save, it just spins up against him and ends up in the back of the net.

    VAR has played its part.

  12. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Hang on. It's not going to count!

A VAR check shows that the ball actually hits Nathan Ake's hand before it bundles over the line.

It was all a bit confusing, that, as the VAR check didn't come up but City are back to just the one-goal cushion.

  13. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:07 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

It should be 2-0 to Liverpool but Peter Gulacsi had other ideas. Darwin Nunez does so well to keep it alive and feed the ball back into the box towards Cody Gakpo. His rushed effort was well snuffed out by the goalkeeper.

  14. 'Liverpool could've scored more'published at 21:05 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock

Liverpool started poorly and credit to RB Leipzig, they pressed extremely well. But once the goal went in, Liverpool started to dominate possession and could have scored more.

Arne Slot would have gotten them in at half time and told the players that if they up the tempo and pass better, more opportunities will arise and they can put the game into bed early in the second half.

  15. goal

GOAL - Man City 2-0 Sparta Praguepublished at 21:04 British Summer Time

    Nathan Ake (46 mins)

Manchester City have a corner and it's flicked on at the near post to Erling Haaland, who nudges it onto the post and it comes back to Nathan Ake.

There's a save in there somewhere too from Peter Vindahl but eventually it squirms into the back of the net.

  16. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time

We're back under way in Leipzig.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Back under way at the Etihad. Sparta Prague have brought on Ermal Krasniqi for Lukas Haraslin.

  18. 'Nunez is willing'published at 21:00 British Summer Time

    HT: RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

A lot of the time it wasn't the best runs when Darwin Nunez first come to Liverpool, but there's an improvement and he's willing.

When Nunez makes runs, players like Salah will love it as it creates a gap for him.

  19. 'City have to recognise the threat'published at 20:58 British Summer Time

HT: Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

    Joleon Lescott
Former Man City and Wolves defender on TNT Sports

When City concede opportunities, it is on the counter attack so the defenders, or the deepest lying players, have to recognise what the threat is.

There's a chance for Haaland and City are thinking 'oh momentum is with us and we're going to score' and three, four seconds later, Sparta are in the box and [Ortega is] having to make a save.

  20. A typical performance under Slotpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time

    HT: RB Leipzig 0-1 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Liverpool’s goal has changed the game, because Leipzig have dropped off since then, and stopped pressing.

The first half was kind of typical of how Liverpool have been under Arne Slot - where they have not been at their best in games, but then they get a goal and suddenly they have the belief and start playing.

Under Slot they have had a handy knack of staying in games, then producing a bit of quality which puts them ahead. It’s something all the top teams can do.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.
