Why do British teams in Europe get dreadful officiating from referees? Stonewall penalty for Liverpool not given. The standard of referring in Europe is very poor!!!.

Re 20:42 - have to agree with Dan. Normally watching the Champions League is a welcome respite from the officiating in the Premier League but this has been truly shocking.

I'm not quite sure how Young Boys haven't scored in that first half.
The Swiss side have completely dominated Inter Milan in terms of chances with Jaouen Hadjam and Lukasz Lakomy forcing Yann Sommer into two fine saves.
Benjamin Pavard was needed to block a bullet header from Alan Virginius, while Joel Monteiro slammed an effort over the crossbar.

It could've been panic stations for Sparta Prague after Phil Foden put Manchester City ahead after just three minutes but they've remained disciplined and Pep Guardiola looks pretty fuming on the touchline that his side haven't been more clinical.

We're moments away from half-time and Manchester City have a free-kick in a dangerous area but it comes to nothing.
The way this game started it looked like City would be cruising into the break but as it stands it looks like it will just be the one goal that separates the two...For now.

It was a good move from Cody Gakpo. There's more dominance from Liverpool.
They are getting into good areas and they've stepped it up by a distance, but I think Arne Slot will have been disappointed with the start.

Liverpool are flowing in attack here and this time it's Cody Gakpo who comes close after a lovely disguised pass from Dominik Szoboszlai. The Dutchman can't quite wrap his foot around it enough though.

I have no idea why that wasn't a penalty but Liverpool are doing much better anyway. Leipzig have stopped pressing, which was causing Liverpool problems. Instead they are sitting back and are giving them more time to play out and build attacks.

Manchester City have a corner and it comes out to Savinho on the right who lays it off for Phil Foden. The England forward shoots from 18-yards but his effort doesn't have the bend on it and flies wide.

Amadou Haidara tries his luck from distance again, but it's the same result as Caoimhin Kelleher gets down quickly to his right and wraps his arms around the ball.

Not sure how many people are watching, but the officiating at the Liverpool game both on and off the pitch is some of the worst I have ever seen in my lifetime.
