  4. Can Arsenal get back on track?published at 19:06 British Summer Time

Arsenal v Shakhtar Donetsk (20:00 BST)

A tricky week this week for Mikel Arteta's Arsenal. Can they recover from the defeat against Bournemouth at the weekend?

In the Champions League, they began their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Atalanta then beat Paris St-Germain 2-0 last time out.

On paper it looks like a routine evening at the Emirates against Shakhtar Donetsk - who have lost one and drawn one of their European matches so far - but the Gunners will be keen to avoid any potential slips.

  5. Arteta wants to use 'pain' of Cherries defeatpublished at 19:03 British Summer Time

Arsenal v Shakhtar Donetsk (20:00 BST)

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has called on his side to use the "pain" of their first defeat in six months as motivation for their Champions League meeting with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Gunners slipped to third in the Premier League after they were beaten 2-0 at Bournemouth following William Saliba's first-half sending off.

Arteta says he wants his players to quickly "move on" after the loss.

"You have a defeat, that's part of the game, it happens in very specific conditions as well," he said.

"Let's move on, take that pain we still have in the tummy and use it for tomorrow night.

"It puts a bit of perspective into the situation. Obviously we want to win in any context. The reality is that we have made that context very difficult for ourselves.

"It was very difficult already with the amount of players that we had out and the schedule and the games that we had to play, but that's the reality.

"For that game we didn't get away with it. We could have done and it could have been a very different narrative, but the reality is we didn't. Another context is that we have lost one game in six months. Now we have to win again."

Unai Emery wants Aston Villa to "break barriers" and become regular contenders for silverware as they prepare to take on Bologna in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Emery has guided Villa from the bottom half of the Premier League to the Champions League since taking over as head coach just two years ago.

They have made their best start to a league season since 1998 and have won both of their Champions League games so far, including a 1-0 win over Bayern Munich.

"I don't want to waste my time here, that is my message," said the former Arsenal boss.

"We want to achieve the objectives and one of them is to play in the Champions League. It is not about playing there only because of some circumstances - I want us to stay there for a long time.

"You have to be resilient. We want to be strong in the idea in our mind and create a strong mentality to always break barriers."

Two games already under way on the continent with AC Milan taking on Club Brugge in one of two early kick-offs.

A classic half of two halves in the San Siro where Milan were dreadful for 20 minutes and could easily have been two or three down without the goalkeeping of magic Mike Maignan.

But Christian Pulisic then fluked a goal direct from a corner and the VAR then suggested that a yellow card for Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika was upgraded to red.

Milan a goal and a man up at the interval.
