    Real Madrid have fallen asleep!

Borussia Dortmund spread the ball out to Donyell Malen who plays a driven cross along the floor and Englishman Jamie Gittens has an easy tap in at the far post.

Gittens becomes the youngest English player to ever score against Real Madrid, but where was the defending?

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Chris Sutton

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Despite winning just once this season, Bologna's only defeats have come to Napoli and Liverpool.

Seven of their 10 games have ended level so far and they have defended well at Villa Park, even if some of it has been a little last ditch.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bologna

Aston Villa have played some excellent football at times here. All that's missing is the goal.

Ian Maatsen is in down the right all day because Orsolini doesn't want to follow him infield. Stefan Posch is having to come further over to pick up John McGinn and that is leaving plenty of space for Maatsen to have real joy. If Maatsen times his runs right he is in time and again.

  8. Dortmund lead in Madridpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 22 October

    Real Madrid 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

Out of nowhere Borussia Dortmund have taken the lead at Real Madrid.

It comes from their first proper chance after the hosts fail to clear. Julian Brandt wins the ball back, feeds in Serhou Guirassy, who slides a pass to Donyell Malen.

The forward is through and keeps his composure, hammering the ball beyond an onrushing Thibaut Courtois. Great start for the visitors!

  9. Postpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 22 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bologna

Bologna have had as many shots in this match (five) as they managed in the entirety of the first half in their match versus Liverpool last time out. They create plenty but just need to find that clinical touch.

It's really unlucky for Dmytro Riznyk but Arsenal deserve the lead. They have been the better side so far with a few decent chances.

  11. 'Riznyk gets very unlucky'published at 20:32 British Summer Time 22 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Chris Sutton
Ex-Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

You should not let Martinelli inside on his right foot. The thing which allows him to do that is Riccardo Calafiori's run.

The goalkeeper, Dmytro Riznyk gets very unlucky. Arsenal are where they want to be. Shakhtar Donetsk have not scored a goal in the Champions League this season - they need to rethink their game-plan.

    Arsenal 1-0 Shakhtar Donetsk

    Alex Howell
BBC football news reporter at the Emirates Stadium

The game needed that goal it was just starting to drift.

the Shakhtar Donetsk keeper knew where that ball was going to end up after the ball hit him on the back.

Martinelli used Calafiori's run past him to make space in the area and get his shot at goal.

Gabriel Martinelli drifts into the penalty area, shifting left and right before driving a low shot into the near bottom corner.

It looks like Shakhtar keeper Dmytro Riznyk has saved it but it bounces off the post and hits him on the back and into the net.

It's unfortunate for the shot stopper.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bologna

    Ally McCoist
Former Rangers striker on TNT Sports

There's a little bit of panic creeping in for Bologna now. Villa have started to go quite direct, especially down the left with Ian Maatsen.

  16. Postpublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 22 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bologna

Great flicked header by Jhon Duran almost puts Leon Bailey in on goal but he can't quite flick the ball on target.

John McGinn then sees a strong low effort from distance kept out.

Pressure on the Bologna goal is building.

That's really good centre forward play from Kai Havertz. He received the ball, held off the defender and then popped it out to Martinelli.

Leandro Trossard had run well beyond the near post.

  19. 'Duran unlucky'published at 20:24 British Summer Time 22 October

The quality of the ball in from Youri Tielemans is incredible. He whips it into the near post with plenty of pace and it just needs a glancing touch on it, which Jhon Duran does. He was unlucky not to see that go in.

  20. CLOSE!published at 20:22 British Summer Time 22 October

    Aston Villa 0-0 Bologna

Riccardo Orsolini is booked as he fouls an Aston Villa just outside the box. It is another clever free-kick by the hosts which results in them winning a corner.

Jhon Duran then times his run to perfection to meet the delivery, but his header is batted away.

    Very decent chance.
