We reported earlier this morning comments made by Wolves manager Vitor Pereira, who said that he did not like the body language shown by captain Matheus Cunha in Monday's defeat at Chelsea, or his decision to run straight down the tunnel after the final whistle.

Here is a little more from Pereira on his decision to leave the field after the match without acknowledging the fans: "This is something I cannot understand.

"Again, it is the frustration, which I understand but we need to be together and together we can fix the problems and stay in the Premier League.

"It is human (to be distracted) but he needs to put his mind on his targets and increase his level after injury and help his team again with his quality. The team needs him with good energy and not with frustration."

Yoane Wissa has enjoyed a superb campaign with Brentford, scoring 11 league goals in 19 appearances to this point.

It is little wonder then that Nottingham Forest are interested but why would the Bees let the forward go?

The DR Congo international is still under contract for another 18 months and since joining in 2021, Wissa has scored a club-record 37 Premier League goals, overtaking Ivan Toney this season.

Perhaps the only reason they may consider letting him go is that at 28, this could be the optimum time to extract the most value for him and give Thomas Frank the maximum funds to reinvest in the squad?

But you'd imagine it would take rather more than £22m to tempt Brentford into taking that option.

Forest are third in the Premier League after Sunday's 3-2 win over Southampton.

Wissa, who has 11 goals in 19 Premier League matches this season, is highly valued in west London and has proven a worthy successor to Ivan Toney.

Therefore, the Bees will not accept bids in the £22m price range that Nottingham Forest have reportedly offered, despite their striker having just 18 months left to run on his current contract.

Nottingham Forest have made an approach for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.

The Bees value Wissa at far beyond the £22m which was reportedly offered by Nottingham Forest.

BBC Sport have confirmed the approach with Forest targeted competition for in-form striker Chris Wood, who has 14 goals in the Premier League this season, as they look to maintain their surprise Champions League challenge.

Enzo Maresca (Chelsea): The Wolves game was massive for Maresca. It was getting towards squeaky bum time for him - there has been a lot of pressure building in recent weeks. He called Chalobah back from Crystal Palace and started him, which was a big call, and it paid off. They had to win and they got the job done.

Phil Foden (Manchester City): He looks like the player we have been screaming for since the back end of last season, with back-to-back games in which he has scored a couple and assisted another. He and City look like they are getting their mojo back.

Iliman Ndiaye (Everton): He was excellent against a Tottenham side that looked lost for most of the game. He's been Everton's best attacking spark all season and it is nice to see him playing with a smile back on his face.

Darwin Nunez (Liverpool): This was the toughest choice of the week. Nunez came on against Brentford and instantly changed the game. Two good finishes, could have been sent off - it was the best cameo I have seen in a long time. Pure madness.

An honourable mention is needed for Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored twice for Crystal Palace in their win at West Ham.

Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool): He was excellent against Brentford and was a growing influence throughout the game. He looks comfortable in Arne Slot's side now. He hit the bar with one of the best strikes I have ever seen, and on another day he could have had five.

Youri Tielemans (Aston Villa): He scored an excellent goal against Arsenal and he was unfortunate to hit the post afterwards too. He is a really solid player. Can he deliver even more? Probably. At this moment in time Villa fans will be happy to see him playing regularly and stepping up for their side.

Justin Kluivert (Bournemouth): He scored a hat-trick of penalties earlier on in the season, but his three goals at Newcastle were all unbelievable finishes. The precision and technique to just pass it into the goal was excellent.

Goalkeeper:

Ederson (Manchester City): Some might say, 'Oh 6-0, he didn't really have much to do', but I feel like he needed a clean sheet. He's had a bit of a torrid time of late.

Defenders:

Matty Cash (Aston Villa): He played well against Arsenal. He got an assist for the second goal providing the cross for Ollie Watkins. And he was an integral part in how Villa got back into the game after going two goals down.

Chris Richards (Crystal Palace): With Trevoh Chalobah returning to Chelsea, it was a big game for him in which he needed to step up. There were a lot of eyes on him and he delivered.

Joachim Andersen (Fulham): I still can't believe Crystal Palace let him go. He continues to show his class and deliver.

Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth): I struggle to see how Bournemouth are going to be able to keep hold of him. He is scoring goals for fun and has an unbelievable engine on him. He defends well, gets forward excellently. A really, really good player.

New Aston Villa player Andres Garcia can play at right-back or as a right winger, according to the club.

The Villa announcement added that the 21-year-old defender, who has signed from Spanish second-tier side Levante for a reported £6m, is "energetic and with an eye for goal".

He has scored three goals and weighed in with three assists in 23 appearances so far this season.

Garcia is the club's second signing of the current transfer window.

He follows Netherlands forward Donyell Malen, 25, who completed a move from Borussia Dortmund for an initial £19m fee on 14 January.

Villa have dipped into the market for the second time this month, bringing in 21-year-old Spanish full-back Andres García from Levante.

The Premier League club have not disclosed the fee, but reports suggest it is around £6m.

New Everton owners The Friedkin Group will back manager David Moyes in the transfer market this January as the Scot looks to add a more attacking edge to his team and support at full-back, the i reports.

Director of football Kevin Thelwell was working on possible targets with previous head coach Sean Dyche, but Moyes is now keen on finding "creative" options to improve his squad "immediately".

The Guardian has more on a "precarious" situation for Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou.

It reports that club chairman Daniel Levy intends to give the Australian the opportunity to revive the club's fortunes and he will remain in charge for this week's two games.

Spurs play Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday and host struggling Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Away from transfer talk, the Express reports that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has enjoyed helpful conversations with the club's legendary former boss Sir Alex Ferguson as he struggles to revive their fortunes.

The Portuguese head chose is quoted as saying he has spoken with Sir Alex several times as the Scot helps him to "keep positive".
