Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna says defender Axel Tuanzebe suffered a "long-term" hamstring injury at the weekend, adding that several unspecified players are nursing issues that will be need to be assessed.

Kalvin Philips and Ben Johnson are again doubtful because of respective ankle and muscle problems. Should this game come too soon for them, McKenna expects both to be fit for Sunday's match against Bournemouth.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has reported no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Portman Road.

This game comes too soon for Adam Wharton, while Daichi Kamada completes a three-match ban.

    Match facts:

    • Crystal Palace are unbeaten in all four of their Premier League games against Ipswich (W3, D1).
    • This will be the first top-flight meeting since Palace’s 2-0 win at Portman Road on 4 February 1995, when Iain Dowie and Dean Gordon netted for the visitors.
  3. 'Both teams are desperate for another win'published at 15:24 GMT 3 December 2024

Ipswich v Crystal Palace (19:30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton predictions banner

I watched Ipswich on Saturday and thought they played well. They were hard done by for the award of the penalty which Nottingham Forest scored their winner from.

Crystal Palace did get something out of their game with Newcastle - Daniel Munoz missed an unbelievable chance but made amends with his header right at the end.

I look through the Palace team and think they are too good to go down, but they have to start showing it.

These two sides have identical records, with only one win apiece from their first 13 league games.

They are both desperate for another win, so the obvious thing for me to do is call it a draw.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

  4. Kudus to return following five-match banpublished at 15:21 GMT 3 December 2024

Leicester v West Ham (20:15 GMT)

New Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy cannot call upon Harry Winks, who is still recovering from a groin issue.

Caleb Okoli was forced off after 35 minutes against Brentford because of a knee problem and will be assessed, while Abdul Fatawu, Ricardo Pereira and Jakub Stolarczyk are long-term absentees.

West Ham welcome back Mohammed Kudus following a five-match ban.

Jean-Clair Todibo is doubtful with a minor issue, while this game is expected to come too soon for Niclas Fullkrug.

    Head-to-head record

    • West Ham have won two of their nine Premier League visits to the King Power Stadium (D3, L4), with the most recent victory coming in October 2020.
    • The Foxes won both meetings in 2022-23 and are vying to record three consecutive league victories against the Hammers for the first time since 1966.

  5. 'Fourth from bottom would be a success for Leicester'published at 15:18 GMT 3 December 2024

Leicester v West Ham (20:15 BST)

    Robert Huth
Former Leicester City defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

On the appointment of Ruud van Nistelrooy as new Leicester boss and the aim for the Foxes moving forward.

I'm feeling positive. Positive and unsure what's going to happen. He's still fairly new to the managerial job so happy and uncertainty both at the same time.

He could be playing really offensively or really defensively, nobody really knows. I think the one big worry is the amount of goals they are shipping - that will be a real concern for him and he will be trying to stop that.

I think survival is a realistic aim. We've seen in the past how promoted teams struggle in the Premier League and I think if you're happy to take fourth from bottom - I would be. I know it's not always easy for supporters to accept but I think fourth from bottom would be a success.

There are 5/6 teams that will be fighting relegation and it's about putting a couple of good runs together and staying above the bottom three. As long as everyone understands the position Leicester are in and ride the highs and lows at the same time.

  6. 'This feels like a massive game for Lopetegui'published at 15:15 GMT 3 December 2024

Leicester v West Ham (20:15 GMT)

    Chris Sutton predictions banner

Both teams were beaten heavily at the weekend and this feels like a massive game for West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, who is back under scrutiny again after such a big defeat at home by Arsenal.

What might help him here is how bad Leicester are defensively. This is Ruud van Nistelrooy's first game in charge of the Foxes so you would expect King Power Stadium to be rocking, but that will not help them keep the Hammers out.

I am not convinced by West Ham in any way, shape or form at the moment but they have attacking players who can hurt Leicester, and that will get them the win Lopetegui needs.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

England's women will be without injured duo Chloe Kelly and Fran Kirby for the friendly against Switzerland on Tuesday.

Forward Kelly is going through concussion protocols while midfielder Kirby has a calf injury after both players came off the bench during Saturday's 0-0 draw with the United States.

Manager Sarina Wiegman says England will make "many changes" as they continue to "try out things" in their preparation for Euro 2025.

Among those who will feature is Chelsea defender Millie Bright, who was left on the bench for the goalless draw at Wembley.

England will seek to defend their European title in Switzerland next year and Wiegman is "excited" to see how the tournament impacts the host country.

The Dutch manager saw how success helped propel the growth of women's football in the Netherlands as well as England following their victories in the European Championship.

Norway will host Northern Ireland in the Uefa Women's play-off final second leg.

Tanya Oxtoby's side's hopes of reaching the tournament in Switzerland next year are all but over after their 4-0 first leg defeat in Larne on Friday.

But the Australian is hoping her side rise to the occasion in the second leg and show signs they have learned from mistakes made at Inver Park.

"We knew this particular play-off would be a challenge, but it is one we are embracing and want to continue learning from," Tanya Oxtoby said.

"The players are positive about challenging themselves again - it is another tough test, but they are up for it."

In the first leg of the play-offs Gemma Grainger's side posed many threats to Northern Ireland.

"When you play teams like Norway, they have quality all over the pitch and we have seen it come to the fore so if you try and shut down one option another pops up," Oxtoby added.

We want the new generation to really experience the home and away experiences and how to learn to go to football and create that as a habit.

"Football is the best game in the world and to be a fan and follow the team home and away is a fantastic thing. If that can help more young fans follow the team, then that is fantastic."

  18. 'We can’t make catastrophic errors in important parts of the pitch'published at 14:02 GMT 3 December 2024

Everton v Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wed, 19:30 GMT)

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O'Neil on their 4-2 defeat against Bournemouth: "We made crazy errors at key stages in the match. "The first goal was something we worked on [in training] and to be punished by something like that early, obviously gives us a setback.

"But we were able to bounce back from it. Then we gave away two penalties by giving passes away to them.

"We all make a mistake but we can’t pass to their centre forward twice. That’s a mistake that can’t happen in the Premier League.

"You might as well not be playing the game. Mistakes are fine but we can’t make catastrophic errors in important parts of the pitch."
