Amorim has to take the heat for that equaliser, takes off our best outlet and sends the message to defend (clue, United can’t defend). Panic from the bench panic on the pitch, panic at the disco!

    On the Dorgu red card...

It is actually a bad touch from Omari Hutchinson in the first place and Patrick Dorgu is quick to challenge but it is reckless. It is a straight leg challenge and I don't think there can be any complaints.

    Liverpool 1-0 Newcastle

Liverpool looking pretty slick so far.

They have had 73% of the possession.

How many times do you see the defender go back to defend the goal?

Dominik Szoboszlai, brilliant. He holds his line, Sandro Tonali goes towards the goal and that's how he gets his two yards of space.

Szoboszlai keeps it down and it goes through two legs.

Luis Diaz does well down the left and he cuts it back for Dominik Szoboszlai 10-yards out who slots into the corner.

He was pretty much unmarked there and it wasn't hit with much power. Not the best defending and Nick Pope probably should've done better.

A comedy goal, an own goal, a red card.

Surely there will be a penalty in the second half?

Onana has some shocking positioning for a GK. Surely when Bayindir is fit again he's worth a run.

Eddie Howe is writing in his little notepad on the touchline but it's absolutely pelting it down in Liverpool.

Won't be long before those notes all blur into one, surely.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:24 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February

    Manchester United 2-2 Ipswich Town

    A great half of football.

Ipswich, without a league win in 2025, were gifted an early goal when Patrick Dorgu's backpass went past Andre Onana and Jaden Philogene tapped into an empty net.

United then dominated with two goals in a four-minute spell to take the lead, through a Sam Morsy own goal and then one from Matthijs de Ligt.

But the game then swung when Dorgu dived in and produced an awful challenge on Omari Hutchinson, with the United defender shown a straight red card after an intervention from the video assistant referee.

Philogene, rather fortunately, curled in a second and it's 2-2 and anyone's guess who wins this one.

JoeD: How is that not a penalty for Liverpool? Newcastle defender stumbles and pulls Salah down.

    Stonewall penalty for Liverpool

    Mark in Dublin

I think the referee deemed that Mo Salah had initially pushed Lewis Hall.

  14. Postpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February

    Brentford take the lead!

A long throw-in bounces several times in the box before Bryan Mbeumo nods it off the crossbar.

The ball comes back and Yoane Wissa leaps into the air to power a header home.

  19. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February

    Brentford 0-0 Everton

Maybe Brentford's best chance of the first half comes deep into stoppage time as Yoane Wissa's curling effort from 20 yards is palmed away by the diving Jordan Pickford.

  20. Postpublished at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February

    Liverpool 0-0 Newcastle

Liverpool are shouting for a penalty as Mo Salah goes down in the penalty box but it looks like Lewis Hall was pushed first and the referee makes the right call.
