Everton v Nottm Forest (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

Everton manager Sean Dyche on how his side has taken confidence from recent draws against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City: "There was a real lack of confidence, but, of course, confidence is driven and built by time and getting the right results and the right performances.

"I think we are in a better place than earlier in the season. I think the mentality is strong. We have had to build that mentality and sometimes that is the best way. When you build it as a collective it locks it in more.

"Now I have got to use that wisely to make sure we are not only able to draw games but to win games, and that is the next challenge, of course."

Tottenham v Wolves (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham may have dropped to 11th in the Premier League, but they remain in four competitions.

As a result, fixtures will come thick and fast in January.

Spurs have nine games to play before the end of next month, including an EFL Cup semi-final against Premier League leaders Liverpool, a tricky trip to non-league Tamworth in the FA Cup third round and two more ties in the league phase of the Europa League.

    • 29 Dec: Wolves (h)
    • 04 Jan: Newcastle (h)

    • 19 Jan: Everton (a)

  5. 'I still feel that support is there'published at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December

Tottenham v Wolves (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on his previous comment that being a football manager was the hardest job in the world, harder even than being Prime Minister: "Can I just say that obviously sarcasm and irony is lost [on people] in this country if people actually believe that I was serious when I said that. There are far more difficult jobs than being a football manager or even than being a prime minister of a country."

On whether he has support from the Spurs fanbase: "They love their football club, they care about their football club and they want their football club to succeed. They make those feelings and emotions seen.

"I haven't felt anything but support since I have been here. I still feel that support is there. I will keep doing what I think is the right thing to bring success to this football club, that doesn't change.

"The task is difficult at the moment because of our situation, but like most things that are fairly difficult to traverse, it is only temporary, we will get through it and come out stronger."

  6. 'Our paths crossed in Asia' - Postecoglou on Wolves boss Pereirapublished at 12:38 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December

Tottenham v Wolves (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on Sunday's opponents Wolves: "Another good challenge for us. They have a new manager in Vitor [Pereira] who I know pretty well because we crossed paths in Asia a couple of times. Obviously they had a great result last night. They definitely have some quality players who can hurt you. We saw that last year.

"A real important game for us back at home. Listen, we are getting through this period as best we can but we certainly need to go out there on Sunday, play our football and get a result to make sure we get some momentum going into the new year."

Optimistic Spurs fan here! Once players return from injury, we are going to have a storming second half of the season, winning a cup and possibly even grabbing 4th spot. Before the injuries, you could see the team had progressed from last season. Get behind Ange, trust the process, the supporters need to be less...Spursy!

  8. 'There is a need for us to try to reinforce if we can'published at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 27 December

Tottenham v Wolves (Sun, 15:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou on Tottenham's plans in the January transfer window: "We have a clearer picture of where we are at. I still think we have to be disciplined [in the transfer market]. It is not just a case of bringing anybody in, but there is certainly a need for us to try to reinforce if we can.

"Obviously, January is not an easy time to do that but the club is working hard behind the scenes to see what we can do to just help the players we have got at the moment, who are giving everything in every game and dipping into every bit of energy they have to try to get us through."

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on his defensive options: "[We've] not many. We are in a tough spot. We have been for a while. We have been kind of getting through it for quite a while now and keeping our fingers crossed we don't get any more issues.

"It is the nature of football and the fixture scheduling we have had, which means we have always been on a fine line of trying to get through.

"It is another test for us, but it is what it is. Whatever we need to deal with, we will deal with and be ready for Sunday."

On his side's injury list, he added: "I think we have had 10 first team players unavailable for a significant number of games, which is definitely a first for me."

With the injury list Spurs has, it’s hugely difficult for Ange to do anything more than survive at the moment. Levy doing his usual of not taking responsibility for the lack of players for Ange to use. There’s always next season!
