The last couple of seasons Arsenal were hit by a lot of injuries, then last season they made an early exit from the Champions League and never really found a good momentum. But they do have to do better in terms of winning silverware.
Part of it is down to Chelsea, how dominant they are, the 'mentality monsters,' they always have the ability to turn things around. But Arsenal should be doing better.

Katie McCabe celebrated that block like she would a goal and with every reason too. Hemp broke well down the left hand side and put a dangerous ball in, Aoba Fujino did well to get it out of her feet and it is a fantastic block.

That was better from Lauren Hemp there. She cut inside and drove into the space as it opened up, gets her head up and had a little go at goal. She did well to find the space to pick up the ball and get the shot off to test Manuela Zinsberger.

That is why Stina Blackstenius has started this game.
An inch-perfect ball over the top from Katie McCabe and Blackstenius gets the right side of the defender, didn't take the shot first time and goes around Yamashita, and her shot goes just wide of the target.
Man City press so well that Arsenal are being a little more direct to bypass it, Blackstenius just needs to be more composed and clinical in those moments.

Manchester City goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita was so quick off her line to close down Stina Blackstenius.
She didn't seem to look up in time and there were people around me shouting "chip it".
If she had, she might have scored. She was pushed wide in the end.

That was very nearly a howler from Ayaka Yamashita.
The Manchester City goalkeeper doesn't know whether to stay or go, and she finds herself stranded in between Stina Blackstenius and her own goal.
Luckily for Yamashita, Blackstenius takes too long and her shot inches wide.

Arsenal needed that goal because it looked as though Man City were starting to get pressure on them and get on top. Man City had started better out of the two teams but those are the fine margins in this league, City chance not taken at one end and Arsenal score at the other.

Unbelievable end to end stuff.
Caitlin Foord broke through with the driving run and played the ball into the box, Stina Blackstenius couldn't quite take it in her stride but Frida Maanum made no mistake. What a finish, keeper didn't stand a chance.
