  1. 'Walton does so well'published at 16:49 Greenwich Mean Time

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea & Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Erling Haaland does excellent, but Christian Walton does so well.

The ball from Mateo Kovacic is well-timed.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 17 mins

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick when the two sides met at Etihad Stadium in August and he should open the scoring now.

Mateo Kovacic slides a perfect ball through the heart of the home defence, Haaland only has Christian Walton to beat, but the keeper, only just getting a run in the team after Arijanet Muric had been first choice earlier in the campaign, does superbly to get a hand to the shot.

Ipswich clear the resulting corner only for Kovacic to have a chance but he fired over the top.

City cranking up the gears. Can Ipswich cope?

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

City goalkeeper Ederson, so good with the ball at his feet, tries to lure Ipswich into a press and Omari Hutchinson tries to charge him down, but can't get there kick enough as Ederson calmly knocks it around him.

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

Manchester City, as expected, are knocking the ball about well and have lots of possession but have nine blue shirts between them and the goal, with the hosts having to do a lot of work off the ball to stay in position and stay disciplined.

  5. 'Ederson is a top-class goalkeeper'published at 10 mins

    Ipswich 0-0 Manchester City

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea & Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

It was a surprise to see Stefan Ortega take over from Ederson.

For City the form wasn't there and I think Pep Guardiola decided it was time for Ortega to come into the side.

Ederson is back in the side and I think it's the right thing - he is a top-class goalkeeper.

Ipswich set up with a back five when they're defending. They're trying to create as little space as possible for City.

Ipswich are quick on the counter-attack and on that occasion they got very close to scoring.

  6. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

Ipswich with a bright, purposeful attack to crank up the bubbling atmosphere. Ipswich look to have an overlap down the right, but top scorer Liam Delap can't get a clean shot away and City have bodies back and are able to clear their lines. Encouraging from the hosts though.

  7. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

Kevin de Bruyne tries to release Matheus Nunes down the right wing, but he runs out of Portman Road turf and the hosts get a goal kick.

  9. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

Ipswich earn a corner and it comes in from the left and Cameron Burgess charges at it and connects with a header, but the returning Ruben Dias does well to deflect it away for another corner.

That one is recycled by the hosts before Ederson, back in goal after Stefan Ortega played against Brentford, comes off his line to gather a cross from deep superbly.

  10. 'Delap is a formidable player'published at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time

    Ipswich 0-0 Manchester City

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Chelsea & Fulham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Liam Delap is a formidable player.

He is someone who needs a lot of support and Ipswich have not given him that this season.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:33 Greenwich Mean Time

    Ipswich Town 0-0 Manchester City

And we are under way. As at all games this season, Portman Road is absolutely packed out.

Remember, this is a team that were halfway up League One when Kieran McKenna came in to the club in December 2021.

  12. Tribute to Denis Lawpublished at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time

There is a minute's applause at Portman Road for former Manchester City forward Denis Law, who died at the age of 84 on Friday.

Earlier today, Manchester United paid an emotional tribute to former striker Law before their match against Brighton on Sunday afternoon.

Ipswich Town have stunned Chelsea at Portman Road and also won at Tottenham and Wolves on their travels.

It will be their best result of the season though if they can stun the reigning champions.

Ipswich are at home, and have it in them to take it to any team. It may not always result in taking points, but City tend to panic against teams who show them no respect. This one could be spicy.

    On Manchester United's form...

The games I have seen there's 10 minute stints where you think 'here we go'.

Bruno Fernandes, I have got to give him his due - he is trying his hardest and he is everywhere.

Brighton seem to know what they're doing whereas United are very disjointed - it was pretty quiet in here.

  18. 'We needed those three points'published at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Nottingham Forest 3-2 Southampton

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest goalscorer Elliot Anderson speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "We started really bright but made it hard for ourselves in the second half. Ultimately we got the three points and I'm really happy.

"We set out to attack both games with the same mentality. Southampton were really good midweek against Manchester United so we knew it was going to be hard for us. I've been working hard for that and the lads have been telling me to shoot. When I got space I thought I'd just bang it.

"The manager said it's always hard when you've got something to lose. We needed those three points because there are teams creeping up behind us."

  19. 'This situation will eventually dissipate'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Everton 3-2 Tottenham

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou talking to Sky Sports: "It is a difficult result. We struggled to really get in the game in the first half and that gave Everton and momentum. We gave ourselves a mountain to climb but the players certainly tried to claw the game back but we just fell short.

"We couldn't really take control of the game. We struggled to get any traction in terms of with and without the ball and that allowed to get in behind us. We had some chances where we probably should have capitalised early on, but in the end it wasn't enough.

"We are pretty stretched. We literally had 11 players fit enough to start the game. We weren't in total control of our organisation and Everton capitalised on that and we paid the price for it. Radu [Dragusin] had to come off because of the deep cut and restructure.

"Second half we had the fair share of the game. We started strongly and I thought Richarlison made a difference and a presence and Mikey Moore gave us something on the left."

On the transfer market: "There will be urgency but it doesn't need me to say it, everybody can see that. I have no issues with how the club are going about it, they are working hard and trying to find solutions. These players need help that is for sure and hopefully over the next 10 days or so we'll find a solution. It is really tricky, we're not the only ones in the market. The club are trying hard."

Does your faith waiver? "No it doesn't. If you look at the situation we're in, it will eventually dissipate. I certainly hope and believe it will. We'll give ourselves the opportunity to get consistency in performance and results. I certainly haven't lost belief or determination to turn it around and the players showed in the second half that they haven't either."

  20. 'We needed a win'published at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time

    FT: Everton 3-2 Tottenham

    Everton

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin talking to Sky Sports: "I am really pleased. It has been a tough patch for myself. I'm delighted with how we went today, we needed a win for the lads and the club.

"Everything clicked today. You go through periods where you're not hitting the back of net or getting the rub of the green. We were defensively solid and built from that.

"I have been in the Premier League a long time now so it is not my first rodeo."
