Anything else on Stephen Welsh to Motherwell? Only had the one update so far...

    Mark

Not yet, Mark. Motherwell are short on numbers at centre-back following the exits of Dan Casey and Shane Blaney, so it would be no surprise if they were looking to add in that area.

Stephen Welsh would be a fine addition, you'd think.

Jens Berthel Askou has made quite the impact on Scottish football with his swashbuckling style of play.

He's also brought in 11 players so far this window in his Fir Park revolution. A lot of his new recruits are looking the part.

He may well not be done either, with a story doing the rounds that the club might be looking to take Celtic's Stephen Welsh on loan.

Look out for the possibility of another arrival as well as the Dane looks to round things off on deadline day.

  4. Can Nisbet get Dons firing again?published at 19:10 British Summer Time 1 September

So far this season I have watched Aberdeen be largely profligate in front of goal.

They have failed to convert a number of very decent chances.

I am in no doubt Kevin Nisbet would have dispatched a fair few of them.

This really could be a key bit of business for the Dons as they look to recover from a very disappointing start to the season.

  5. Robinson 'desperate for striker'published at 19:05 British Summer Time 1 September

St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson said he is eager to add a pacey striker.

"I'm desperate for another striker to give us options," he said.

"I've been told I have to take someone out to bring someone in, which is always the case. The board will back me as much as they can.

"We're actively looking. We've got three or four names that we're hoping may drop."

So, what's still simmering in the Scottish football transfer pot?

  7. English transfer window is shutpublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 1 September

The transfer window for Premier League and EFL clubs is now closed.

Scottish clubs have another four hours to wrap up any incomings, though.

We'll be here until the deadline, so stick the kettle on and stay with us.

I'm told the deals are done at Rangers for Everton striker Youssef Chermiti and Marseille's Canada defender Derek Cornelius.

We await the official announcement from Ibrox.

I'm also told Rangers are not necessarily done for the night, and are still chasing one more forward.

We also await confirmation of Cyriel Dessers' departure to Panathinaikos.

  10. What Martin said about Rangers' deadline day planspublished at 18:53 British Summer Time 1 September

Striker Cyriel Dessers has "probably played his last game" for Rangers, said head coach Russell Martin after Sunday's goalless draw with Celtic.

"We've agreed something with another club," he told BBC Scotland. "We'll see how that goes in the next 24 hours."

On further incomings before Monday night's transfer deadline, Martin added: "We hope to definitely have a couple in, and we'll see what happens after that depending on who goes here."

Everton striker Youssef Chermiti is a reported target, and when asked about potential interest in the 21-year-old, Martin added: "He's a player we like. I'm sure you'll find out very soon."

Falkirk have already brought in over half-a-dozen players this window, but they're not done yet.

John McGlynn is looking to bring in a defender or two on loan. The feeling is they're potentially one injury away from being down to the bare bones.

  12. McGlynn hoping for a 'couple' of signings'published at 18:49 British Summer Time 1 September

Falkirk manager John McGlynn said he is hopeful of signing two more players.

"We've been working on a few things, so I would like to think we could get another couple of players in," he said.

The Bairns' newest loan signing Kyrell Wilson scored the only goal in Sunday's win over Aberdeen to earn Falkirk their first top-flight victory in 15 years.

  13. What do Falkirk still need?published at 18:47 British Summer Time 1 September

I think we need an experienced ball-winning midfielder to sit in front of the defence and break things up when we are defending and act as a pivot to launch attacks when we win it back.

Livi signing Man City players who have played in the Champions League?

This is already better than my first deadline day working at the BBC, when the entire night seemed to revolve around whether Hibs were signing Harry McKirdy.

    No offence, Harry.

Midfielder Mahamadou Susoho has joined Livingston from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has played once for Pep Guardiola's side, coming off the bench in a Champions League win at Red Star Belgrade.

The former Spain Under-18 international spent last season on loan at Peterborough, where he made 17 appearances, scoring once.

  16. Will Martindale find a midfielder?published at 18:40 British Summer Time 1 September

David Martindale is hopeful Livingston can add a midfielder and a full-back to their squad before today's transfer deadline.

"I think we're a wee bit short in the midfield area," Martindale said.

"I also think I'm a full-back short, so those are the two areas that I've been trying to work on. I'm pretty confident we can get something done."

It looks like he's got his wish...

  17. Idah paving the way?published at 18:37 British Summer Time 1 September

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was very clear that Adam Idah couldn't join Swansea City until a replacement was sorted.

Now that the Irishman's move to Wales has gone through, does that mean there will be some late fanfare at Parkhead as they announce his replacement, or replacements?

Rodgers said he wanted at least one striker and at least one winger...

Swansea City have signed Celtic striker Adam Idah for an undisclosed fee which is believed to be an initial £6m.

Idah, 24, becomes the most expensive signing ever made by Swansea when not in the Premier League, with the transfer fee potentially rising to £7m.

The 32-cap Republic of Ireland international has agreed a five-year contract with the Championship club.

"Adam's all-round ability and his experience at the highest level make him a quality addition to our squad, and his signing is an indication of our ambitions for the club moving forward," said Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan.

Sheehan has eventually got his man after a fee for Idah was agreed with Celtic last week.

The Scottish giants delayed the deal over the weekend before finalising Idah's departure.
