This is how the bottom six looks with three games to play.

Luton's win at Derby in today's first game has really put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Cardiff host Oxford on Monday in a HUGE game you'd suggest they really have to get something from if they're to stay up.

Portsmouth's helter-skelter 5-3 win at Norwich moved them up to 49 points and you'd suspect that will be enough.

This sight of Daniel Farke going over to the Leeds fans after a victory has been a frequent feature of this Championship season.

Victory tonight was the Whites' 26th of the campaign and with 91 points they have now bettered the 90 they took as they finished third last time out.

Another win over Stoke at Elland Road on Monday could be enough to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Sheffield United defender Rob Holding told Sky Sports:

"I'm glad the lads held on but I'm gutted I couldn't finish it off. We got the job done, we needed to bounce back after the week we had and now we need to keep winning our games and see where it takes us.

[On three-game losing run] "It's been tough. We had to analyse the reasons why and it was important to get back home in front of our crowd to get back to what we wanted to do which is winning games."

[On facing Burnley] "All we can do is go there, give it our best and see what happens."

Burnley head coach Scott Parker told BBC Radio Lancashire:

“I’m delighted with the team. We came here for three points and managed to walk away with them.

“They [his players] react constantly to adversity. They’re reacting the right way. They find a way. There’s quality there of course but sometimes it’s a mentality that can get you to that point [of winning a game]. It was brilliant today.

“Watford are a very good side. Tom has done an incredible job here. We knew that and I knew that looking at the prep leading into the game. I knew the threat they pose. Physically a very, very strong team, running power. You could see that from their physical numbers.

“And they put the ball in areas and cause you problems.

“We knew that this game was definitely a tough game for us and we needed to address it in the right way and we’ve managed to do that and get out of it.

“We'll enjoy this result. The next game is our biggest game of the season again which is Sheffield [United].”

Let's turn our attentions back to the action earlier today.

Burnley came back from a goal behind to beat Watford in their match before Sheffield United beat lowly Cardiff 2-0 in the early evening game to keep the distance between themselves and the top two to five points with three to play.

The Clarets host the Blades on Monday and a win will send the Lancashire side back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Leeds United defender Joe Rodon told Sky Sports:

"Playing last is always going to play on our minds with the waiting. The boys put in a good performance. First half maybe we could have scored another one and we were quite dominant in keeping the ball back.

"We knew they were dangerous on the transition but I thought the team managed it well and we dug in towards the end.

"Over the past couple of weeks we've just focussed on ourselves and gone back to doing what we've done all season like being quick playing the ball and limiting other teams' chances.

"All we do is concentrate on ourselves and our performances and that's what matters."

Leeds United forward Manor Solomon told Sky Sports:

"We knew it would be difficult tonight and it really was. They are a great team and we struggled but in the end we got the three points which is the most important thing for us.

"We're really happy. We know the job is not done yet. We need to stay humble. I'm waiting for Monday already.

"I've enjoyed it so much so far this season and I want to enjoy it until the end. We've got three more games to go and we need four more points and I'm sure we're going to do it but it's not done yet so let's bring it home on Monday."

For anyone counting that's now 79 Championship games in a row where Leeds haven't lost after scoring the first goal of the game.

So this is how the top six looks with three to play.

The situation is pretty simple for Leeds, beat Stoke City in their match on Monday and anything other than a Sheffield United win at Burnley means they will be playing Premier League football next season.

Massive plaudits for all of those players out there. Joe Rodon I thought was absolutely immense throughout the game.

Leeds have come up with the right performance. It was a bit scary towards the end, they had the home fans against them.

Job done for Leeds.

Three games to go, the Whites are top and FIVE clear of third-placed Sheffield United.

It wasn't a vintage performance from the table toppers but they more than did enough to merit what is their 26th league win of the season.

Manor Solomon's first half goal gave them a lead they never really looked like giving up.

Oxford remain five points clear of the relegation zone and still have some work to do to secure their spot in this league next season.

Should the Yellows achieve that it seems unlikely they'll be playing Leeds again.

The home side sends a couple of crosses in towards the Leeds box but the Whites stand up to them once again.

Patrick Bamford is scythed down as he looks to break away for the Whites.

Free-kick for the away side and no rush to take it.

Josuha Guilavogui is on for Leeds for the final 120 seconds.

The home side have moved Poland defender Michal Helik up front and he manages to get his head on a ball into the middle but can't force Karl Darlow into action.
