It was a good start from Sunderland, we started the game brightly and then Bristol City got that break.

Burnley defended the long throw well initially, but two of the Watford players went up for a lovely inswinging ball. Trafford looked like he was going to get there, it's right in the corner.

It's an uphill battle now.

Sunderland's task just got a whole lot harder. Just seven minutes in Trai Hume has been shown a straight red card by ref Oliver Langford for a foul on Nahki Wells the edge of the Sunderland box.

Wells nipped across the run of the defender who is adjudged to have clipped him. Contact looked minimal and certainly accidental.

A professional foul? The ref certainly thought so.

The Robins can't take advantage from the free-kick, however. They had made a rather nervy start but the red card will give them a huge boost.

Sheffield Wednesday had to make a quick change to their line up before the match, with Michael Ihiekwe not feeling too comfortable pre-match and it's decided he needs to sit this one out.

He was replaced in the XI by Dominic Iorfa.

Meanwhile, Stoke midfielder Ben Pearson is late in putting in a challenge on Stuart Armstrong and gets a very early caution.
