We fell short, and if I'm honest, I didn't expect to be sitting here looking at the Luton fans celebrating.

They have played us at our own game, they defended magnificently. The three centre halves for Luton were outstanding.

They scored a very Derby-like goal, and we just weren't at the races in the first half; it heaps massive pressure on the next two games now.

Luton were poor in the second half if we're honest, but it makes absolutely no difference; they've got the job done, and it is huge for the Hatters.

They've given themselves a chance.

If they're going, they're not going without a fight...

A precious three points for Luton Town.

The Hatters remain in the relegation zone, but only on goal difference.

This victory has just piled a load of pressure on a number of teams, not least Derby, who had chances enough to win the game.

Millenic Alli's angled finish on 10 minutes proves the difference, but Mark McGuiness produced two goal saving interventions on his own line while Thomas Kaminski stood firm in goal against a wall of pressure in the final 35 minutes.

Marcus Harness' corner from the right drops to the feet of newly-arrived sub Tahith Chong who bundles past his man on the edge of the Hatters box before breaking away and earning a free-kick from Kayden Jackson, who picks up a caution.

Chong celebrates like he's just won the cup. Two minutes remain.

Tom Barkhuizen is on for Harrison Armstrong for the hosts while Tahith Chong replaces Milennic Alli, who is the matchwinner for Luton as things stand....

Thelo Aasgaard, one of the most technically gifted players on the pitch, has absolutely larruped a clearance straight into touch, which sums up how frantic things are feeling in the Hatters box.

Mark McGuiness produces a towering header to boom away Craig Forsyth's latest high cross from the left and yells at his defence to push up. They are dropping deeper and deeper in these closing stages.

Ebou Adams wins a free-kick on the left from Christ Makosso but the Hatters defence are able to deal with that, and Kenzo Goudmijn's curling cross from the loose ball on the right.

They lost 2-1.

Harness with an opportunity, and somehow he's misdirected his header.

I think he was apprehensive about being clattered by Kaminski, but a real let off for Luton. They have to see the game out now.

Craig Forsyth swings in a high cross from the left which is met by the head of Matt Clarke and falls in front of Marcus Harness who throws himself at the ball five yards out, only to see his glancing header smothered by the spread-eagled Thomas Kaminski.

The pressure is intensifying... but can the Rams find a way past the keeper?

Thelo Aasgaard squirms his way through in the Derby box and wins a corner, to alleviate some of the immense pressure his side have been under at the other end.

He milks every possible second before taking it, though his cross is too deep and Luton have to settle for a long throw from the left, which Amari Bell takes, but which skids behind off a Luton shin for a goal-kick.

Jordan Clark and Carlton Morris are the latest to come off for Luton, with Marvelous Nakamba and Lasse Nordas coming on for the final nine minutes and change.

Kayden Jackson wriggles past Thelo Aasgaard in the box but sees his angled cross-shot blocked by the boot of Thomas Kaminski, before Derby concede a free-kick in the scramble which follows.

The latest Marcus Harness corner is a little deep and flies over the head of the melee in then middle and out for a goal-kick.

Sondre Langas has been withdrawn by Derby boss John Eustace with Kenzo Goudmijn coming on to try to help the search for an equaliser.

Amari Bell has switched to left wing-back and charges down a Kane Wilson cross, conceding a corner, though Marcus Harness' cross is cleared at the near post.

The ball is returned to the back post where Jerry Yates' angled volley deflects off, guess who, Mark McGuiness and behind for another set-piece.

Lamine Fanne and Isaiah Jones are withdrawn by Luton boss Matt Bloomfield, with former Rams loanee Teden Mengi and Reece Burke coming on to try to see this one out.
