The players are back out on what is a pretty Baltic January afternoon... can they warm us all up with some goals and drama in the coming 45 minutes?

    Let's find out...

    FT: Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

    Plymouth Argyle

Argyle caretaker boss Kevin Nancekivell told BBC Radio Devon:

"A point away from home is not to be sneezed at in the Championship. Especially at a tough place like this with such loud fans.

"There’s a reason why we’re bottom of the division and that’s the amount of goals we’ve been conceding.

"So to come here and get a clean sheet was very satisfying – and we had plenty of possession too.

"It was just a case of the team doing their job a bit better than we have been doing in away matches."

  4. 'We maybe didn't have the urgency and quality'published at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    FT: Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

    Stoke City

Stoke manager Mark RobinsImage source, Rex Features

Stoke City boss Mark Robins told BBC Radio Stoke:

“If you can’t win, the key thing is always just making sure you don’t lose.

“The players have had a lot of games in a short space of time and that can take its toll.

“We just didn’t have maybe the urgency and quality we needed.

“Sam Gallagher felt his hamstring. It could be just fatigue. And Eric Bocat may be out for a few weeks too.”

  5. 'Always things in the pipeline'published at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    FT: Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

    Adam Cottier
    BBC Final Score reporter

Mark Robins’ first game in charge ended 0-0 so the inevitable questions are asked afterwards about what his new team can do this month to arrest a run of one win in 12 games.

On the transfer window, Robins says simply in his post match press conference: “There’s always things in the pipeline, it’s just how far down the pipe it is.”

He will give his team some time off now after their festive season exertions, insisting: “We need to clear all the fatigue out.”

  6. Pring sidelined by hamstring injurypublished at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    HT: Bristol City 1-0 Derby

Bristol City left-back Cameron Pring was one of two Robins changes this afternoon and is set to be out for a "few weeks" because of a hamstring injury.

Pring went off in the 42nd minute of the Robins' 2-2 draw with Plymouth on New Year's Day.

The 26-year-old has made 21 appearances for the Robins this season and already missed a number of weeks during October after suffering a leg laceration.

"[It is] going to be a few weeks we think, [we're] just going to let things settle before we get the exact details on it," Bristol City head coach Liam Manning told BBC Radio Bristol before kick-off of this afternoon's game against Derby.

"We're not going to see him for a little while."

  7. 'Hull's best performance all season'published at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    HT: Hull City 1-0 Leeds

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

There is still a long way to go and loads of football to be played. That noise at half-time is what we want to hear, we haven't heard a noise like that in a long time.

We have heard the moans and the groans, but that positive noise is what we want to hear from the fans, and the players should respond to that. The fans have been asking for something on the field to get behind, and that first half performance was the best performance all season.

It is against a top team and every Hull player has raised their game. There has been some top performances and everyone has played their part.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Norwich 0-1 Coventry

Milan van EwijkImage source, PA Media

Milan van Ewijk's 24th minute goal is the difference between the sides at the halfway point.

It would be a fourth game unbeaten for the Sky Blues if they don't throw this away.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Watford 1-1 Sheff Utd

Gus Hamer slotted the Blades ahead early-on after Callum O'Hare's through ball, but the Hornets got back on terms just seven minutes later when Jeremy Ngakia slid home Ryan Andrews' cut-back for his first Watford goal.

Good, even game. Surely more goals in this, though...

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Bristol City 1-0 Derby

Bristol City goalscorer Luke McNally celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Luke McNally's thumping far-post volley from a deep free-kick separates the sides at the break.

The opener might have come against the run of play but the hosts could have added to it since, with Scott Twine going close, though Robins keeper Max O'Leary has been kept on his toes by Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Kane Wilson at the other end.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Preston 0-1 Oxford

Ruben Rodrigues celebrates after opening the scoring at PrestonImage source, Getty Images

Oxford United 45 minutes away from making it four wins in four games under Gary Rowett.

Ruben Rodrigues gave the away side the lead with a cool finish after Preston goalkeeper Freddie Woodman inexplicably played it to him.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Millwall

Sheffield Wednesday goalscorer Yann Valery is congratulated by team-mate Anthony MusabaImage source, Rex Features

The Owls lead thanks to Yann Valery's early goal but it could have been so much better had Ike Ugbo not missed a penalty shortly before the break.

Millwall have struggled for goals this season but they are still in this - if they can find their shooting boots.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Cardiff

Big 45 minutes coming for these two teams who are after points for different reasons.

    Hull City 1-0 Leeds

The upset of the day is on at the break...

Abu Kamara gave the home side a very early lead with a composed strike for his first for the club and the Tigers have had the better of it from there on.

  15. 'What a howler'published at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Preston 0-1 Oxford

    Ben Croucher
    BBC Final Score at Deepdale

What a howler from Freddie Woodman, completely undoing all of Preston's impressive endeavour in the opening 20 minutes.

Sam Greenwood and Kaine Kessler-Hayden had efforts tipped wide. Keane blazed over when it looked easier to score. Even Paul Heckingbottom has shown a nice couple of touches on the sideline too.

Preston have resumed their impressive passing game inside the Oxford half since the goal but their six-game unbeaten home run is in jeopardy.

  16. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Millwall

    Oh no no no!

Ike Ugbo smashes the spot kick high and wide of the target and 1-0 it remains.

Nice to see the Owls striker's team-mates head over to tell him to get his head up following that miss.

The hosts have missed plenty of opportunities to double their lead and have left the door open for Millwall.

  17. Postpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Bristol City 1-0 Derby

With the hosts trying to double their lead Ross McCrorie has scuffed a close-range effort into a defender after being found by Haydon Roberts, who might have been better off having a go himself.

Scott Twine has also curled a dangerous free-kick well over the bar for the Robins.

  18. PENALTY to Sheff Wedpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Millwall

Anthony Musaba is pushed over in the box and the referee points to the spot.

What a chance for the Owls to go 2-0 before the break.

  19. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Preston 0-1 Oxford

Preston are unbeaten in their past six home league games and they've got time to turn this one in their favour.

Emil Riis sees a shot saved by Jamie Cumming in the Yellows net.

  20. Postpublished at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Watford 1-1 Sheff Utd

Delay in proceedings as Hornets right wing-back Ryan Andrews goes down in a heap after seemingly twisting his knee. He'll need some treatment. Not good news for Tom Cleverley as Watford seek to get back on track after consecutive defeats.

Andrews looks like he'll be ok to continue...
