Hull City have the worst home record in the Championship so far this season with just two wins from their 13 games in front of their own supporters prior to today.

A third win today would be a massive boost for their survival hopes AND their morale.

The league-leading away side have had two thirds of the possession but zero of the goals.

  2. Postpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Millwall

Another chance for the hosts to double their lead goes begging.

Ike Ugbo holds off his man in the box but can only send his effort wide.

The Owls can move within a point on the play-off spots with three points today.

  3. CLOSE!published at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Watford 1-1 Sheff Utd

Watford keeper Daniel Bachmann is a lucky, lucky boy.

The Austrian keeper tries a Cruyff turn in his own box, under pressure from Callum O'Hare, who is no stranger to that particular skill, reads it, and launches into a tackle which sends the ball rolling agonisingly past the post, sparing Bachmann's blushes.

The possession stats are going to be massively in Leeds favour, but the important stat is that they are trailing 1-0.

Leeds are very lucky not to be 2-0 down, it is alarming for Leeds. Twice now Hull have been threatening down the left side.

    Hull City 1-0 Leeds

Really good stuff from the struggling home side so far today.

Regan Slater's effort comes clattering back off the outside of the post.

  6. Postpublished at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Millwall

Joe Bryan makes a crucial intervention to prevent Anthony Musaba adding to Sheffield Wednesday's lead.

The 24-year-old Dutchman was trying to get on the end of Djeidi Gassama's ball.

A reminder that the last time Millwall scored more than once in a league game was 28 September so they have some work to do to come back here.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Bristol City 1-0 Derby

Luke McNally conceded a free-kick just outside the Robins box but although the free-kick to the back post is met by the head of Kane Wilson, Max O'Leary is able to help the ball over the City bar.

  8. CLOSE!published at 15:29 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Watford 1-1 Sheff Utd

Fit-again Imran Louza produces a nice pass to send Rocco Vara marauding forward for the hosts on the left, with the Hornets man cutting inside past his man but lashing a low shot past Michael Cooper's near post.

    Middlesbrough 1-1 Cardiff

Emmanuel Latte Lath has the ball in the back of the net for the second time today but the offside flag is up and it will not count.

We had three goals in the three early games in the Championship.

Not even thirty minutes in to the seven 15:00 GMT games and we've had nine already!

    Keep them coming!

  11. CLOSE!published at 15:27 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Bristol City 1-0 Derby

A fine last-ditch tackle from Rams defender Callum Elder has denied Scott Twine a second for the hosts, sliding in to charge down his effort, though he collided with keeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom in the process and both require a spot of treatment.

  12. goal

GOAL: Norwich 0-1 Coventrypublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Milan van Ewijk (24 mins)

Against the run of play but Coventry lead!

Frank Lampard's side win possession and break quickly with Jack Rudoni feeding Jake Bidwell who crosses for Milan van Ewijk to slot in the opener.

Coventry have a forgettable record away at Carrow Road but they have made a good start to go about changing that.

The away side level the scores.

He played for Middlesbrough during their most recent spell in the Premier League in the 2016-17 season.

  15. Postpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Norwich 0-0 Coventry

A fairly quiet opening here but Borja Sainz has just forced Oliver Dovin into a smart save.

The Sky Blues keeper then has to be alert again to deny Emiliano Marcondes.

  16. goal

GOAL: Preston 0-1 Oxfordpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Ruben Rodrigues (21 mins)

Oxford goalscorer Ruben Rodrigues raises his fist in celebrationImage source, Rex Features

Correction, the AWAY team on top in this one!

We mentioned pre-match that Gary Rowett had a superb record against Preston with four different clubs, unbeaten in 14 games against them.

Well, he's well on course for a 15th and a fourth straight win as Oxford boss now because Ruben Rodrigues has given the U's the lead after a dreadful error from home goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.

  17. Postpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Preston 0-0 Oxford

The home side firmly on top of this one but yet to find the breakthrough.

Neat play ends with Will Keane smashing a shot over the bar. He'll want that one back.

A well-worked equaliser from the hosts as Kwadwo Baah plays Ryan Andrews on the right to cut back into the middle for left wing back Jeremy Ngakia to race in and slide home his first goal for the club, and first in English football.

  20. Postpublished at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Hull City 1-0 Leeds

Leeds are unbeaten in their past 16 Yorkshire derbies.

They were looking to set a club record of keeping five successive away clean sheets against the same opponent for the first time ever but that went out of the window early doors in this one.

Still, plenty of time for the league leaders to turn the score around.
