    Sheff Wed 1-0 Millwall

MIllwall have responded well to going behind and have gone close to an equaliser on a couple of occasions.

First, Casper de Norre sees an effort cleared off the line before Mihailo Ivanovic sends a shot whistling wide of the Owls goal.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Bristol City 0-0 Derby

Liam Manning's men are having some joy with an energetic high press on the Derby defence, which has seen them win possession cheaply more than once already.

Down the other end though and former Robins man Kane Wilson has whipped in a cross from the right which has been sent flashing wide of Max O'Leary's post by the head of Marcus Harness.

    Derek Payne

There is too much space in front of the back three of Watford. It is very poor defensively from Watford.

It was a good weighted pass from Callum O'Hare. But from Watford's point of view, you have allowed Sheffield United's two best players too much time on the ball.

    Blades back in business?

Callum O'Hare picks out a fine pass to just about beat the offside trap and send Gus Hamer through on Daniel Bachmann's goal and he keeps his cool to slot his sixth of the season and put the visitors ahead.

That's United's first goal at Vicarage Road in five matches across 16 years.

After three games without a win, it must feel good to be back infront...

In-form striker Emmanuel Latte Lath bags his 10th goal of the season at the near post from Liverpool loanee Ben Doak's low centre.

Doak has been linked with a move from the Reds but Boro will be praying they get to keep him for the rest of the campaign.

Daniel Bachmann to the rescue for the Hornets as Gus Hamer's fine ball picks out Andre Brooks who can't quite get the ball out from under his feet before the keeper flies off his line to dive at his feet.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Bristol City 0-0 Derby

Fantastic work from Robins keeper Max O'Leary to claw away a looping Rams effort, looks like it was from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing's deflected strike.

Bright start with positive play at both ends so far...

A real goal for narrative lovers.

Abu Kamara apologised at a news conference yesterday after he posted some emojis on a post by a former Portsmouth team-mate in the aftermath of the Tigers' 1-0 home defat by Middlesbrough.

A good day to score his first goal for Hull? A very good day to score his first goal Hull.

Struggling Hull City face a pretty daunting task today.

The Tigers have the worst home form in the division with just two wins from their 13 matches in front of their own supporters and suffered the blow of conceding a last minute winner to Middlesbrough on New Year's Day.

To say they could do without facing the league leaders would be a pretty big understatement.

Leeds might also have conceded in stoppage time on Wednesday as Blackburn's late equaliser at Elland Road saw them fail to win a home game for the first time since 14 September but they're still in terrific shape.

Daniel Farke's men are the absolute scourge of their Yorkshire neighbours, unbeaten in their past 16 games against teams from the county.

It's Graham Taylor Matchday at Vicarage Road. The annual tradition celebrates the club's greatest ever manager, who passed away in 2017.

Taylor led Watford from the Fourth Division to runners-up in the old First Division, while reaching the club’s first ever FA Cup final and also qualifying for Europe.

The Hornets have encouraged supporters to bring their yellow, black and red scarves to mark the occasion as they welcome Sheffield United to Hertfordshire.

Watford v Sheffield United (15:00 GMT)

After some festive wobbling, Watford and Sheffield United will seek to get back on track when they meet at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

The Hornets have lost back-to-back games to fall out of the play-off places while the Blades have picked up just one point from three games since Christmas to fall off the pace in the promotion race.

Although Watford suffered a shock home defeat for the first time since 9 March last time out against Cardiff - their first in 16 home games - the omens look good for them to start a new unbeaten streak against a Blades side who have taken one point from their past four visits to Watford, and haven't scored a goal at The Vic since January 2009.

Chris Wilder's men did overcome Tom Cleverley's side 1-0 at Bramall Lane in September, but he has never won away to his former side, drawing 0-0 with the Blades in the Premier League in 2019 before a 2-1 defeat with Middlesbrough in 2022.

If he can mastermind a win today then he'll be the first Blades boss to do the double over the Hornets since Kevin Blackwell 16 years ago, and could close the gap on table-topping Leeds too.

I’m not saying it’s cold at the Riverside, but there are northerners wearing coats…

Long sleeves aplenty for Boro and Cardiff you’d imagine then, with the home side looking to build on Wednesday’s win at Hull and Cardiff on their first away win of the season against Watford.

Question is, will Cardiff City celebrity fan Jason Mohammad be celebrating in the Final Score studio at full-time?
