West Brom have sold out the away end at Stoke.

They're in really good voice and speaking to some of them on the way in, they believe this is the season they go back up to the Premier League.

Gillingham and Bromley are both eyeing the top of the table but face stiff looking tests on the road against Fleetwood Town and Bradford City respectively.

Doncaster Rovers had early season hopes punctured somewhat with a 3-1 defeat at Newport County but aim to get their momentum moving forward against Morecambe.

Chesterfield, who stuck five past Crewe, are lining Salford City in their sights as they look to keep up their unbeaten start to the season. Port Vale take their unbeaten record to Cumbria where they face Barrow.

  5. More road rewards for Pompey?published at 14:53 British Summer Time 24 August

    Middlesbrough v Portsmouth (15:00 BST)

The Portsmouth fans I spoke to outside had a much earlier get-up time than my 11am this morning - but when your team haven’t lost away in the league since January, you can understand why!

They visit a Middlesbrough team tipped for promotion - but today, simply wanting to bounce back from a disappointing defeat at Derby.

  6. Can Oxford bounce back from last week's late heartbreak?published at 14:51 British Summer Time 24 August

Blackburn Rovers v Oxford United (15:00 BST)

Oxford United are looking to bounce back from the late heartbreak they suffered last week, conceding a late 96th minute winner in a 3-2 defeat to Coventry City.

Today's hosts Blackburn Rovers are unbeaten in their past five league meetings with Oxford, beating them in their only two encounters so far in the 21st century.

Niche stat alert - Oxford’s Mark Harris is aiming to be the first player to net in each of a promoted club’s opening three games of a Championship campaign since Charlton’s Lyle Taylor in 2019-20.

  7. Stoke calling on strong home formpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 August

Stoke v West Brom (15:00 BST)

Stoke are aiming to bounce back from a heavy 3-0 defeat to Watford on their last outing against West Brom who are so far unbeaten this season.

The Potters' home form has however been strong, having won their last four games at the Bet365 Stadium without conceding a goal - stretching back into last season. The last time they did that in four games in a row was way back in 2014 when they were a Premier League side.

Carlos Corberan's Baggies were held to a 0-0 draw by Leeds last weekend after beating QPR 3-1 away on the opening day of the campaign.

A win today would mark their first back-to-back league victories away from home since April 2023.

  8. Canaries look to take flight against Bladespublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 24 August

Norwich v Sheff Utd (15:00 BST)

It's not been an ideal start for new Norwich City boss Johannes Hoff Thorup.

The 35-year-old Dane has seen a number of last season's star turns leave the club this month, including forward Jonathan Rowe to Marseille on Friday.

On the pitch an opening day 2-0 reverse at Oxford was followed up by a 2-2 draw at home to Blackburn last week.

Sheffield United have enjoyed a much more productive month in the transfer market with new additions bolstering their push for an immediate return to the the Premier League.

They blew a 2-0 lead at home to Queens Park Rangers last Saturday and boss Chris Wilder will want them to put that right today.

  9. Happy Hornets look to sting Ramspublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 24 August

    Watford v Derby (15:00 BST)

Tom Cleverley on the touchlineImage source, Getty Images

Tom Cleverley's start to life as permanent Watford boss could scarcely have gone any better.

Three games played in all competitions this season and three wins.

Another success today would see them start a season with three straight league wins for just the fifth time in their history.

Promoted Derby got off the mark for the season with a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough last Saturday

  10. Something's got to give...published at 14:42 British Summer Time 24 August

    Sunderland v Burnley (15:00 BST)

Stadium of LightImage source, Rex Features

Two games into the season only three teams can boast a 100% record and two of them meet at the Stadium of Light today.

Sunderland have made a super start under new boss Regis Le Bris, with clean sheets in both their league outings this season and a dominant 4-0 home success over Sheffield Wednesday last Sunday.

Relegated Burnley's early season form could best be described as ominous.

The Clarets whacked Luton 4-1 away from home before going one better and demolishing Cardiff 5-0 at Turf Moor last week.

Will either of these two still have nothing but wins by the end of today?

  11. Heckingbottom steps into Preston dugoutpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 24 August

    Preston v Luton (15:00 BST)

Paul Heckingbottom arrives at DeepdaleImage source, Rex Features

New Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom takes charge of his first game today since taking over at Deepdale earlier this week.

The bad news is that the team have lost their first two matches of the season, conceding five goals and scoring none, and are 23rd out of 24 clubs in the table. The good news on the flipside for Heckingbottom is that surely the only way they can go from here is up.

They face a Luton side similarly struggling on their return to the Championship, having only taken one point from their first two games.

Rob Edwards has bolstered his side with a few more additions this week in defence and midfield, but scoring goals remains key for a side who last won away from home way back in January.

  14. 'Coventry get a point from a game they should have lost'published at 14:34 British Summer Time 24 August

    FT: Bristol City 1-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

Coventry got better in the second-half. The changes improved them slightly. I wouldn't say they were brilliant but they were better.

The Kasey Palmer goal was a belter but then the game got scrappy. Neither side did enough to win it; Coventry will be relieved they got something from it.

What they managed to do was get a point away from a game they probably should have lost.

There's plenty more to come from the team. The press has got to be better, they need to get tighter but it's something to work on going forward.

  15. One goal in League Twopublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 24 August

Results: Crewe 0-0 Swindon; Tranmere 1-0 Walsall

Just the single goal in League Two this lunchtime.

Tranmere beat Walsall through Omari Patrick's 13th-minute strike after Jamille Matt missed a penalty for the Saddlers.

    Crewe against Swindon finished goalless.

  16. Three out of three for Stockportpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 24 August

League One results: Stockport 2-0 Bristol Rovers; Burton 0-0 Stevenage

    Dave ChallinorImage source, Rex Features

It is the perfect start to the season for Dave Challinor's table toppers Stockport County, whose 2-0 win with goals from Louie Barry and Kyle Wootton saw off Bristol Rovers.

It is the first time in 48 years County have won their first three in a league campaign. And they are yet to concede a goal either.

The other lunchtime meeting between Burton Albion and Stevenage saw the two share a point each after a goalless affair at the Pirelli Stadium.

  17. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 24 August

    Bristol City 1-1 Coventry

It ends all square at Ashton Gate as former-Robins player Kasey Palmer scores a 76th minute equaliser for Coventry to cancel out George Tanner's wonder volley just before half-time.

Bristol City remain unbeaten in the league and had the better chances but were left to rue not taking them by the visitors.

  18. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:25 British Summer Time 24 August

    QPR 1-1 Plymouth Argyle

    This game ends all square!

Two goals and two red cards, a Championship game that had everything - apart from a winner.

Wayne Rooney's side went down to nine men yet managed to hold on for a point despite QPR throwing everything at them.

The wait for both of these sides to pick up a league win this season goes on.

  19. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 24 August

There had been 12 goals in Millwall's first two league games.

There have now been 12 goals in Millwall's first three league games.

Both of these teams remain winless after what was a seventh draw in Hull City's past nine home Championship matches.

  20. RED CARD: Freddie Issaka (Plymouth)published at 14:21 British Summer Time 24 August

    QPR 1-1 Plymouth

The away side are down to NINE men!

It's so poor from Plymouth youngster Freddie Issaka.

The away side repel yet another R's attack and Kenneth Faal looks to lift the ball back forward from the edge of the centre circle.

Issaka flies in to try and close him down but gets none of the ball and a lot of the man.

    Straight red.
