Player of the match Kai Havertz, speaking to Amazon Prime, on scoring for a sixth home game in a row: "I don't know why. I love playing here, I love the fans and I am so grateful to be here and to play with this team.

On enjoying the physical side of the game: "For sure, I think in the past I wasn't a player that enjoyed the duels but right now I just love it and love to help the team with that."

On his goal: "I didn't think too much. I saw the ball and went for it and lucky enough I was in front of the goalkeeper and scored."

On aiming to win the competition: "Winning against teams like this always gives you a boost. Last year against Bayern was tough to lose in that way but we grew up as a team and we want to improve on that this season."

Paris St-Germain boss Luis Enrique, speaking to Amazon Prime: "My feeling is that I am sad. We could not compete at the level that they did and they deserved to win the match. They got two goals and then they defended in a very tough way and deserved the victory.

"I know the intensity of their team, how they play on the ball and off the ball, and that they are at a very high level. No doubt that they are a top team. We knew the standards that they have."

On conceding the second goal from a free kick: "That happens in football. We have to accept that we were losing almost every single duel against a team like Arsenal, so aggressive in their pressure, if you don't win the duels you suffer. Ok we try to go home and think about the next match. "

On the games to come in the competition: "We were the team with the worst draw and we have to manage that."

Arsenal captain Bukayo Saka, speaking to Amazon Prime: "I won't be giving you any inside secrets [on set pieces] but we do work a lot, most days in training, on set pieces. For me and for the boys it is not a coincidence that we score from them every game."

On his confidence at the moment: "This season there is a lot of hunger in my belly. In previous years we have been runners up a lot so it is just that spirit in me that I want to win this season, that is where the confidence is coming from. I believe in myself and that is driving me forward."

On his defensive work rate: "All attacking players we are attack minded and want to go forward but the manager has emphasised a lot to us the need to do the other side of the game. I'm sure you can hear him on the touchline when we are out of possession!

"It does take a lot of sacrifice and discipline but it is what the team requires. When you see the results we have a lot of clean sheets and it shows that we are getting the rewards for that work."

More from Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Amazon Prime: "It is another weapon [set pieces] that we have. We have great takers and at the moment a very physical team that can duel for the ball. We work on it a lot so big credit to the coaches and then the players for buying into it and understanding that these things are game changers."

On the work rate of his side: "The players do it and they don't feel like it is nasty, they feel that it is their duty to the team. And they have started to love it. It is all about how you feel when you do something, if you really feel it you do it well, if not then you are just cheating. These guys don't cheat, they run and track back every time. If you want to be a top team you better have eleven players that are capable of working."

On the different styles of play they use: "Sometimes you don't want to play in a certain way but if the opponent takes you there you must be happy to do it.

"We looked a lot at different scenarios in pre-season and how we would approach them and how we can work to our own game. We want to continue to win in any context so we have to adapt."

For all the quality we spoke about within this PSG team they did miss an Ousmane Dembele tonight. Someone that can just have the quality to get you a goal, take the quality build up and provide a magic moment from somewhere.

Despite them hitting the woodwork twice, one from a set piece and one from the left back, they were reduced to long range strikes for the most part. Arsenal were comfortable.

In5wknaa: Is this really Champions League? You’ll find way more competitive games in the first round proper of the FA Cup. They’ve expanded the competition this year, for what? To watch this? It’s a shambles to be honest and a real shame.

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, speaking to TNT Sports, on whether he was happy with the win: "We had to do a job. We did it. This group of players is fantastic, we play a good game, a lot of chances so the first three points of the competition.

"We said we need one more goal, 3-0 was almost over because they defend with more courage to play but after 2-0 and chances we had, we were patient and we attacked really well. Sometimes we have to attack more quicker but yeah good result."

On whether goal difference came into his head because of the new format: "When I’m thinking about that maybe I’m conservative, maybe winning games will be enough. We have three tough, tough games away. Today, first victory, a little bit higher in the table than we were."

On Ilkay Gundogan: “We know he can do it. Strong mentality. The game in Newcastle was not really good, maybe one of the worst I ever seen with him in the last eight or nine years but this happens. This is why he has to play.

"His position, holding midfielder, he is so intelligent, he played a fantastic game today.”

On Phil Foden: “Yeah he still is not his best, make a fantastic goal, pass the ball to the post no shoot he had more chances. Step by step he's coming back."

On James McAtee: “All of us are so happy for him, he’s adorable and all the guys love him. There are a lot of games, Everybody will make a contribution. He moved really well in small spaces, he make a fantastic goal, have another chance. For him it will be a good boost. We want to make him feel like ‘you are part of that group, you are able to play’. Hopefully today can help him in that."

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, speaking to Amazon Prime: "Really, really happy with the performance. We played an opponent that has a lot of personality, is really difficult to deal with when you don't have the ball. The first half was very dominant and we created a lot of chances and then the second half was a different story.

"We suffered much more than we should have done. The Champions League brings different demands but I think we handled it really well."

On Kai Havertz's form: "He has been unbelievable. His football brain, the way he understands space, his timing, he brings people together. Hs work ethic is incredible and now he is a real threat around the box. He is one of our main players at the moment."

Manchester City's Phil Foden, speaking to TNT Sports after his two goals:

"I don't think it was easy. It was tough to break them down and we have to give them respect. The atmosphere was unbelievable. We did the job.

"I had more chances to score and a few of the other lads did too. Delighted with 4-0 but we could've had a few more.

"Nice to be back out there and score. Feeling OK now. Slow start to the season after the Euros but I'm slowly getting there."

On playing in the Champions League having come through Man City's academy: "It is a dream come true. We've worked hard for it. Macca's [James McAtee] had a few loans and is doing really well. He's a talented boy so we're going to need him this season with all the games so he needs to be ready.

"After the draw last time out we had to get the win, our aim is to finish in the top half so we're on the right track now."

The Champions League is certainly a competition that Arsenal have the quality to win. Whether they have got the experience and European nouse to win is to be seen. They are building towards it now after being out of the competition for a few years and I do think they are capable.
