  1. goal

GOAL: West Brom 5-0 Portsmouthpublished at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    John Swift (56 mins)

    Five-star West Brom!

Dynamic wing play once again from Mikey Johnston down the left and he pulls it back to John Swift, whose shot takes a deflection past Nicolas Schmid.

Pompey are having a nightmare and their goal difference is taking a battering.

  2. Postpublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bristol City 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

A quiet start to the second period although Anis Mehnmeti has had a shot blocked for Bristol City.

A draw here for Blackburn would at least keep City at arms length.

  3. Postpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Cardiff City 0-0 Derby County

A couple of early efforts from Cardiff's Andy Rinomhota and Joe Ralls are blocked before Rinomhota sends another shot over the bar.

    Still nothing between these two.

  4. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-1 Middlesbroughpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Delano Burgzorg (52 mins)

Just the start to the second half Boro and those 5,000 visiting fans wanted!

Only a third Championship goal of the season for Delano Burgzorg, but he's come back with a big one here.

Ben Doak flicks the ball into his path and Burgzorg takes his time, going past the defence before rolling it past Freddie Woodman.

    Game on!

  5. Postpublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    QPR 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Ronnie Edwards gets his head on the end of a corner from the right, well delivered by Ilias Chair.

His goalbound effort from eight yards is just a little too close to James Beadle in the Wednesday goal, who sticks out two firm hands to bat it away.

    Sunderland 0-0 Plymouth

This suddenly feels like a big half for Sunderland.

They are clinging to the coat tails in the race for the top two, but afternoons like this must yield three points if they are to grab automatic promotion.

A point for Plymouth could be crucial in their fight for survival.

  7. Postpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bristol City 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

Scott Twine opened the scoring early in the first half for Bristol City and he tries another one from distance just after the interval but it's over the bar.

  8. Postpublished at 16:05 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    West Brom 4-0 Portsmouth

That was the first time since 2007 that West Brom have scored four times in the first half.

That was in a 7-0 win over Barnsley under Tony Mowbray and Mogga has certainly released the shackles judging by what we have seen so far today.

Plenty for Albion fans to enjoy in this one.

  9. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

Off we go for the second halves.

It all just feels a bit tense this afternoon, unless you're at The Hawthorns...

  10. As it stands at the bottom...published at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

Just one point separates Hull in 18th to Derby in 22nd.

Points and goal difference are so crucial at this time of the season.

Portsmouth aren't doing either any favours this afternoon...

West Brom have done their goal difference no harm at all in what might be a tight race for fifth and sixth place.

Sunderland will be desperate to find a way past struggling Plymouth to keep the pressure on at the top.

  12. 'They've frustrated Sunderland'published at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    HT: Sunderland 0-0 Plymouth

    Gary Bennett
Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

Job done for Plymouth so far, they aimed to not concede early and frustrate Sunderland, which they've done.

Sunderland will have to step it up slightly, they don't need to panic.

We haven't seen much of Jobe, he's not been able to get on the ball and maybe 15 minutes into the second-half we might see some changes.

They just need to do a few things a bit quicker.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Coventry 1-0 Watford

Coventry celebrate scoringImage source, PA Media

The hosts are deservedly up at half-time but Watford have come back at them in the final few minutes carving out a couple of late chances, Oliver Dovin on hand to repel the best the Hornets could conjure.

Victor Torp's goal on 32 minutes separates the sides and loads a little bit more pressure on Tom Cleverley's shoulders as he walks down the tunnel thinking of stirring words for his half-time team talk.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Cardiff 0-0 Derby

Cardiff v Derby match actionImage source, PA Media

It's tight - these two know how important this game is to their survival hopes.

Jerry Yates has been denied by home goalkeeper Jak Alnwick and an offside flag while Jacob Zetterstrom superbly saved from home skipper Joe Ralls.

Lars-Jorgen Salvesen has had a couple of looks at goal with one saved and another blocked.

There's not a lot between them and Cardiff had Calum Chambers cautioned on the stroke of half time.

  15. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    West Brom 4-0 Portsmouth

Wonderful, wonderful West Brom. Poor, pathetic Portsmouth.

Two from Grady Diangana and one each from Alex Mowatt and Jed Wallace have the Baggies in dreamland at the break.

Pompey are not going to make it three straight wins - we can say that with confidence.

Chalk and cheese from them compared with their Fratton Park efforts.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Sunderland 0-0 Plymouth

Sunderland v Plymouth match actionImage source, Rex Features

Sunderland have had far more of the ball and they have forced Conor Hazard into a couple of good saves as Plymouth continue to frustrate them.

Remember Argyle were 5-0 down at half-time to Burnley on Wednesday so this is a marked improvement from the bottom club.

The Black Cats really need that goal in the second half to increase the pressure on the three sides above them.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Preston 1-0 Middlesbrough

Stefan Thordarson's first Preston goal is the difference at the break.

Boro have had a bit more of the ball but they lost Emmanuel Latte Lath to injury early on and they have a lot of work to do in the second half to get something from this.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    QPR 0-0 Sheff Wed

The half comes to an end off the back of a great piece of skill from Djeidi Gassama who wriggles past two QPR defenders and pings a brilliant ball across the six yard line but there was no one home for Wednesday.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Bristol City 1-1 Blackburn

Blackburn celebrate scoringImage source, Rex Features

Scott Twine's brilliant free-kick had City in front early and he sent another shot from distance wide.

Rovers have had three men booked but levelled five minutes before the break with former Ashton Gate favourite Andreas Weimann tucking home after Makhtar Gueye's header hit the post.

Anis Mehmeti might have restored the home side's lead moments after the equaliser but was denied by Aynsley Pears.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January

    Coventry 1-0 Watford

Big chance to level and they would have done had it not been for a great reaction save from Oliver Dovin.

The ball is lobbed in to the area by Ryan Porteous and Tom Dele-Bashira spins and fires a right foot shot through the crowd which Dovin deals with.

Better from Watford, who have responded to Coventry's goal in a positive manner.
