    West Ham United

West Ham goalscorer Tomas Soucek, speaking to PLP: "A big relief because we knew we needed points. I am happy I could score one.

"We were much more aggressive, especially in the second half. We need these kind of performances.

"When the fans sang my song, I know I have a great connection. In the last few weeks, in my country, the media said the West Ham fans did not like me."

On conceding in the opening minute: "We have to be embarrassed. We saw how they scored those two goals [in the opening minute against Tottenham and Manchester City] and they did it against us.

"We all prepared very well for it and we still conceded. We had to chase the result for another 90 minutes."

On facing Ipswich next: "We play in front of our own fans, we lost our first three home games so we need to give them hope that we can be successful. We want to get three points before the international break."

Fulham boss Marco Silva on Raul Jimenez's 50th Premier League goal to BBC Match Of The Day: "It's great to see him back at that level again after that bad incident when he was at Wolves. It was tough for him to come back.

"In an important moment of his career, when he was struggling for goals, we showed the trust in him, and believed in him. He got used to scoring before the incident but we trusted him. From the first moment in this club he showed his hard work and his quality. It's nice to see him score and be decisive for us."

  5. 'He adapted to it well and we know he’s got talent'published at 17:31 British Summer Time

    Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to MOTD: "We changed Dwight McNeil's position, we know he can operate in the middle of the pitch and operate wide. We’ve had a tricky start to the season as everyone knows and we wanted to see if we could get more out of him in that position.

"He adapted to it well and we know he’s got talent he’s got a fine left foot and he got in the right area twice. He scores one from distance and the other one he stays calm, hits it to the ground and it’s a really good finish."

  6. 'We did not have a good connection on the pitch today'published at 17:30 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 4-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler: "It is still a process and we need a good connection on the pitch and we did not have that connection today. It is my job as a head coach to improve these things.

"The first half you couldn't change anymore. We were disappointed about conceding that many goals but there were positive things. We tried to create some chances but I think Chelsea defended them quite good.

"In the end I think a bit of luck was not there for us. It was not our day and in the end I think we deserved to lose.

"We are all together - we win together and we lose together. We need to find a good balance, we can't lose our structure as quickly as we did. We all need to learn something, including me.

"There are not many players like Cole Palmer in the Premier League, he is special."

It’s a null point if Trossard didn’t start, it would be an entirely different game. It’s not like he appeared just to score those goals!

    Stu

Arsenal have played four games in just nine days (including an incredibly tough second half against Man City). They still fought right into injury time to win today. There’s something about this team.

  11. 'A bit of relief for me and for the players'published at 17:27 British Summer Time

    FT: Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to MOTD: "I’m delighted for the players, they worked very hard to change a scoreline around.

"You know there’s been question marks over many things and of course there’s been a bit of relief there for me today and relief for the players and that’s a human thing.

"There’s a lot of demand here that we put on ourselves and we have to answer to that and I thought we did today. We certainly did enough to win the game and that’s what was important."

Wolves fans need to continue to be united behind the manager. We ran out of steam at the end of last season as a result of decisions in previous years leaving us with a thin squad and inevitably injuries. No team has a harder run of opening games this season. Patience and perspective required.

  14. 'We are still in a process'published at 17:24 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 4-2 Brighton

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to Match of the Day: "We had a good start and controlled the game, had dominance in possession. We scored but afterwards we had too many individual mistakes and with too many individual mistakes you cannot win at Stamford Bridge. We should quickly learn from this.

"In possession we were good but to win games you need to be good in both phases and we didn't defend well.

"We are still in a process and we have to learn from this quickly. Every time we made a mistake they punished it and punished it quickly.

"We have to analyse, we have to be honest with each other and be better next time."

  17. 'Alexander-Arnold adds more value to Liverpool than a more defensive full-back'published at 17:21 British Summer Time

    Wolves v Liverpool (17:30 BST)

    Rory Smith
Chief Soccer Correspondent for The New York Times, on BBC's Monday Night Club

Trent Alexander-Arnold shut Rafael Leao at the San Siro. Wingers can also beat defenders at times, that's allowed to happen and it doesn't make you a bad defender.

Sometimes the guy with the ball gets past them. It's not a failure because you have been beaten once. He is not a right-footed Paolo Maldini. He is not in the team for that and what he adds to that team is worth more than having a more defensive full-back there.

Fans always find a way to complain about something. Trossard served his ban against Bolton. The schedule and who he would play next is irrelevant, nothing can change that. Simple really.

  19. Wolves still confident despite winless startpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time

    Wolves v Liverpool (17:30 BST)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

"Stay the course" was boss Gary O'Neil's message ahead of Wolves' clash with Liverpool.

He has also written about "scrapping for everything" while still wanting to keep Wolves' style in Saturday's programme.

The confidence remains at Molineux and O'Neil said to the media on Friday he did not expect to be talking positively throughout the entire season.

Wolves' winless start is magnified by the fact it comes at the start of the season while O'Neil said it was suggested to him it had been the hardest opening - in terms of opposition - for any Premier League team.

Although, with a goal difference of -9 already having conceded 14, Wolves have not made it easy for themselves. The calamitous second half against Chelsea springs immediately to mind.

It is one thing to be confident in the process but another if the winless run continues. Keeping morale and belief high will be key.

Performances against Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle and Aston Villa have been promising and with better finishing or without individual mistakes Wolves would have more points.

They need to find a way to convert positive spells into consistent displays and while victory over Liverpool would be a shock it is clear O'Neil believes his team have it in them.

  20. 'I'm speechless'published at 17:18 British Summer Time

    FT: Chelsea 4-2 Brighton

    Theo Walcott
Former England forward on BBC Radio 5 Live

There's nothing more I can really say about Cole Palmer. I am speechless. All four goals are brilliant too.

His elegance. His beauty with the ball. His composure at such a young age. He has grown into his own at Chelsea and he is the main man. He has got a bit of finesse, Bergkamp, Van Persie about him and they weren't bad at all.

You can't leave him out of any team, and I am talking about England too.
