  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:41 BST 18 October

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

    Brilliant from Paul Nardi.

Massimo Luongo tees-up Will Smallbone whose effort from distance is superbly tipped over by the QPR goalkeeper - it was destined for the top corner.

    Breathless stuff - it's a proper derby.

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 12:40 BST 18 October

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

Millwall fail to deal with a cross.

Richard Kone almost works an opportunity but then goes down as he's out muscled in the box - he pleads for the penalty but referee Adam Herczeg isn't interested.

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

Paul Nardi in the QPR goal is called into action to claim a little flick header.

A bit of respite for Millwall who are being chased all over the park by the home side and not being given a second to rest.

    Oxford 0-0 Derby

The gusting wind at the three-sided Kassam could be a factor this afternoon.

It forces Oxford's Ciaron Brown to misjudge a loopy ball in his area and he slices a clearance away. Both sides yet to get a foot on the ball really.

    QPR 0-0 Millwall

QPR are swarming all over Millwall.

Some neat trickery from Richard Kone allows Harvey Vale to get in a cross which is blocked for a corner.

Max Crocombe claims the cross - he's having a busy Lions league debut.

Will Vaulks hurls in a monster throw for Oxford which causes some mild panic in a windy penalty area but Derby just about smuggle it away.

Both clubs laid wreaths before kick off at Loftus Road in memory of Gordon Jago who managed both clubs and passed away in the summer.

Replacement Millwall goalkeeper Max Crocombe is immediately in the action to save well from Paul Smyth who hits it first time from the edge of the area.

The atmosphere is crackling inside the stadium.

It's been a tricky start to the season for both sides as they come into the weekend just in, and just above, the relegation zone respectively.

Oxford have only won once all season but all five of their defeats have been by the odd goal, and with Derby drawing their last three matches 1-1 we can expect a tight game.

"A lot of our performances have been pretty positive as a whole, and probably warranted some more points," manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Oxford. "I think that is just a fact."

Fact or fiction? We shall see...

Will Still changes four as Southampton look to extend their unbeaten run to a fourth game.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Elias Jelert, Cameron Archer and Wellington join the starting XI.

Ross Stewart has been ruled out until the New Year with a hamstring injury, while Joshua Quarshie also misses out.

Ryan Fraser and Ryan Manning are available from the bench.

Swansea make a double change after the international break saw a number of their players off doing their part for their country.

Eom Ji-sung and Liam Cullen rotate to the bench to make room for Ethan Galbraith and Zeidane Inoussa.

  14. Do Southampton 'Still' believe?published at 12:15 BST 18 October

    Southampton v Swansea (12:30 BST)

    Media caption,

Saints manager Will Still looks ahead as his side welcome Swansea in the Championship.

Do Southampton believe they can still have a good season?

Relegated from the Premier League after an abysmal campaign in 2024-25 and now floundering in the Championship, the Saints cannot be feeling their best.

The deflated side host Swansea this afternoon, a team doing okay but still only just one point above them on the table.

But while boss Will Still feels that his side need to be reinvigorated, he doesn't expect a quick turnaround.

"We need to believe in ourselves a bit more and have confidence in what we're doing," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"We can't feel sorry for ourselves when things aren't quite going the way we want them to go, we have to keep working.

"You don't turn a season of so many losses into something brilliant and beautiful in the space of a few months."

In come Rhys Norrington-Davies, Paul Smyth, Harvey Vale and Michael Frey.

Goalkeeper Steven Benda is out injured for Millwall and Max Crocombe replaces him while Mihailo Ivanovic is in for the absent Josh Coburn who has also picked up a knock in training.

Alex Neil is hoping for more consistency from his team, starting with a trip to QPR

    This could be tasty.

Unbeaten at home v unbeaten away and two London clubs who look to be on the up, with genuine play-off hopes.

QPR's reaction to their 7-1 shellacking at Coventry in August has been nothing short of stunning.

A six-match unbeaten run from which they have taken 14 points has propelled them up to sixth place with no-one having a better haul across the same period.

Now they have players returning not only from international duty but from injury.

"It's always challenging to restart after an international break," boss Julien Stephan told BBC Radio London.

"I prefer having some players away with their international teams as it means we have good players."

With one win from their past 15 trips to Loftus Road, West London has hardly been a happy hunting ground for Millwall but only Coventry and West Brom have won more points on the road so far this season.

While QPR's turnaround has been as quick as it has been surprising, the Lions is more of a slow burn with inconsistent performances producing the sublime - a 3-0 win over West Brom - and the ridiculous - a 2-0 home defeat by the previously struggling Wrexham.

A level of consistency in performances is what head coach Alex Neil is striving for.

"I would expect that if we can try and keep everybody fit we will get better as time goes on, we should hopefully try and build our way into the season," said Neil.

"I think we have had some really good results already, but I'm hoping for more consistency in terms of team selection, and more consistency in performance."

Middlesbrough's victory over Ipswich last night means they enjoy life at the top once again.

Coventry are all but guaranteed top two but, if they want to return to the apex, only a win will do the job when they face Blackburn at 15:00 BST.

The big game at the bottom is the early encounter between Oxford United and Derby.

In case you missed it last night, Middlesbrough conquered Ipswich Town to rise to the top of the table and add just that little more spice to today's proceedings.

It means we get to see if Coventry can continue their free-scoring ways to displace Boro and climb back to the summit.

Meanwhile, new(ish!) Watford boss Javi Gracia faces bottom side Sheffield United and Norwich boss Liam Manning hopes to dispel calls for his sacking as the Canaries take on his former side Bristol City.

Before all that we've got an all-London affair between QPR and Millwall, plus a lower-half battle between Oxford United and Derby County.

It's a full show today - we've even got a late treat between Leicester and Portsmouth to give us a nightcap - so buckle in. We've got all the build-up coming right up...
