    Charlton have started the brighter, and could have gone ahead but Max Lowe did well to turn behind Reece Burke's effort.

    Stoke have won 92% of their league games against Wrexham.

    Only Manchester United's 94% win ratio over Wigan is better in 10 or more meetings between teams.

    Hull begin the mountainous task of beating Blues at home with an early goal.

    Oli McBurnie's fine form has been uninterrupted by the international break as he threads a ball into Kyle Joseph.

    The forward sees his strike saved by Blues keeper James Beadle but no matter because the ball rolls into the net after coming off Jack Robinson.

    Blackburn are giving it a go, they've come out confidently and they've caused a problem or two already.

    I think this could also give Coventry an opportunity to break and get some chances themselves. I'll be interested to see if they keep this up throughout the whole game.

    No major goalmouth action at Bramall Lane so far but just to mark that the game was paused in the second minute as the fans applauded in memory of former Sheffield United defender George Baldock who died on 9 October last year aged 31.

    A really warm welcome it appeared from the Watford fans as Javi Gracia emerged from the tunnel.

    They clearly still hold him in such high regard after what he did in leading Watford to a respectable Premier League position and the FA Cup final six years ago.

    Out of curiosity I checked how many men have been in charge of a Watford team in the last 20 years. I counted 24! And Gracia isn’t the only one to have been and come back.

    The Spaniard was one of the more successful ones in that time and fans’ backing from the start can only help.

    There’s another former Watford manager in the opposing dugout. Of course there is!

    I've got my typing fingers at the ready for the action at the CBS this afternoon.

    Coventry's goal scoring has been prolific but it's actually the visitors who have a few early sights at the net with Yuki Ohashi and Lewis Miller both seeing efforts blocked.

    Scott Twice lines up an early shot for Bristol City but it's into the side netting.

    Both sides could do with a win today and it's started promisingly.

  19. Beleaguered Blades look to spoil Gracia return

    Sheff Utd v Watford (15:00 BST)

    Paulo Pezzolano's brief spell as Watford boss was brought to an end during the international break and the sack-happy Hornets have turned to a familiar face.

    Javi Gracia led them to an 11th placed finish in the Premier League and the FA Cup final in 2018-19 and will now look to get his second spell off to a winning start.

    Defeat today is a prospect Blades fans can ill-afford to contemplate.

    Should they lose today, Sheffield United will become the first second tier side since Oldham in 1928-29 to lose nine of their first 10 games.
