Leeds boss Daniel Farke told BBC Sport: "Of course [disappointed] because we had a really good game with a really good performance against a strong opponent. We deserved to win this game. We had way more expected goals and shots. We had big chances.

"We gave away two set-pieces and they scored both. They didn’t have a chance out of the game. Small details can be punished. It feels a bit heartbreaking but I’m proud of the performance.

"We can’t outperform our opponents when you see their quality. Organisation, physicality, big team spirit is what we need. The team reduced Bournemouth to so little chances but they’re a proven Premier League side and they were effective today.

"Longstaff was outstanding. His workload, his calmness and composure.

"Calvert-Lewin put in an outstanding performance for the team. A man of the match performance. He showed himself in great shape and fitness level. The only pity is he had so many good chances. On another day he scores two or three."

Ange Postecoglou makes five changes for his first home game as Nottingham Forest manager.

James McAtee makes his first Premier League start for the club, while Nicolás Domínguez starts for the first time this season. Chris Wood returns in attack, while Dilane Bakwa and Dan Ndoye also come into the first XI.

Pep Guardiola had a huge smile on his face as he joined the players on a lap of honour after the full-time whistle. Does he have the feeling that his team is getting close to where he wants them to be?

The scoreline is certainly vintage City but the performance wasn’t perfect, with two own goals for unlucky Maxime Esteve. There was a 20 minute period in the game though, when Pep’s team was being frustrated by a brave Burnley side, before the floodgates opened.

Erling Haaland’s smile matched Guardiola’s after his two late goals to put the icing on the cake and delight FPL managers. It’s a good start to another busy Champions League week for Manchester City.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah to BBC Match of the Day: "The boys are in really good form and think we can win every game and today we showed that.

"That's the environment we have created, we go into every game thinking we can win.

"The manager just said to help the team. Whenever I come on I've got to fight and help."

On his goal: "It was flicked on and I just tried to focus on my first touch. I trust myself with both feet and it was a nice finish with my left foot, with a bit of a nervous wait for VAR.

"It is nothing less than the boys deserved. We never give up, we never stop believing."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola: "Good feelings when you score in stoppage time. It’s a physical game. They have Calvert-Lewin, Longstaff, players punishing us in every set-piece. All of the goals came from set-plays. It was a game with big fights, quite physical, not too clean. Not clear chances.

On Eli Kroupi: "He’s a very good finisher. He has to adapt because he’s coming from Ligue 2, it's a big jump. He’s very good with both feet. The first contact of Marcos [Senesi] is great. We were not winning a lot of aeriel duels and it was hurting us."

What can they improve? "For me the physicality, aerial balls, physical balls. Every time with Calvert-Lewin they were winning first contacts. They had players who were good in the second balls. We aren’t the tallest team but we have to improve aerial duels and defending set-plays."

Burnley

Burnley goalscorer Jaidon Anthony, speaking to Premier League Productions: "It shows why they are one of the best teams in the world. It's a disappointing way to end the game but we will bounce back.

"We've put in some strong performances this season but today was tough. If you're not on it for a split second they punish you.

"We're learning every game and we're a young group. We're playing top sides and if we can take bits from each game and progress than that should help."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think in the first minutes we suffered then we conceded the goal and started playing football. We created chances, we were better out of possession. After we conceded the goal we played okay."

On Danny Welbeck's goals: "I'm very happy for him because he's always there, he's a great leader and today he gets the reward for everything he's doing for us and himself."

On having now recorded three wins in a row against Chelsea: "It is but every game is very tough against them. They are a great football team and great individual players. Always an opportunity to prove who we are and a big challenge for us."

On making the most of Chelsea going down to 10 men: Sometimes when you are one man up it gets more and more difficult because the other team only tries to defend. We stayed patient, we stayed calm, we played from left to right, we opened the gaps and we had some good moments."

On whether this result can be a springboard for the season: "When you only look at the results maybe you can say yes but if you look regarding the performance maybe you can say no. The games are very tight, they are always small margins made the difference. Today the small margins were on our side. I'm sure that we can get into a good run and get into a flow. First of all it's hard work and staying together."

Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah to Sky Sports on his goal: "I just tried to stay calm, got a good first touch and a nice finish."

On the full time scenes: "That's what our fans are known for and shows the togetherness of the group. We always keep believing. There was still time to play. The manager said to stay calm and you will get another situation and thankfully we did.

"There aren't many teams who can create that many chances against Liverpool so a thoroughly deserved three points.

"We are just taking it one game at a time. We have a really good group, we will keep pushing and try to bring more success to the fans."

A lot has been made of how new Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou is still waiting for his first win, and he has got another tough game on his hands here.

I was so impressed by Sunderland's display with 10 men in last weekend's draw with Aston Villa. They were superbly organised.

The Black Cats are without injured midfielder Habib Diarra but they will still be difficult to break down and will fancy their chances of extending their four-game unbeaten run.

Based on form, they should probably get something from this but I am going against the grain here, and I am going to say Big Ange will get over the line and get the result he wants.

Ange Postecoglou has been Nottingham Forest boss since 9 September but only now is he managing his first home game at the club.

He will be hoping his first time in the Forest dugout at the City Ground will bring with it a much-needed win after four away games without a victory.

He is also well aware his appointment has been met by a mixed response from fans, and a win today would be even more welcome given Premier League rivals West Ham announced the appointment of ex-Forest boss Nuno Espírito Santo a couple of hours ago.

It won't be easy, however, against a Sunderland side who have made an excellent start to the season on their return to the Premier League. Their travelling fans are in fine voice here as kick-off approaches.

Manchester City

Manchester City goalscorer Matheus Nunes, speaking to Premier League Productions: "We shouldn't concede a goal, that's what we take from this game. It was a difficult game but we controlled it better in the second half. It was a good victory.

"We are still trying to reach the level we used to be with control in every game. We want to win every game but sometimes it isn't easy. We will get there."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton goalscorer Maxim de Cuyper, speaking to PLP: "I think the first half I wasn't the best, I had a feeling they were quite good in the game. We had some good moments, they had their moments but we felt in the dressing room we could still make a turnaround. How we started the second half was brilliant. The red card is in our favour but it's part of the game."

On the impact of Chelsea's red card: "It's an advantage. If everybody plays 100% you have an advantage otherwise you don't. We tried to keep on high pressing, tried to change the side a lot to let them run and we got the result."

On scoring his first Premier League goal: "Amazing. You see the crowd going wild and it's the best feeling in football."

On Danny Welbeck's goals: "Danny has to be there but it's a brilliant cross and brilliant action for the first. It's not easy but just a tap in. The second is quality from Danny, he stays calm and chips it in really well."
