Ipswich captain Dara O'Shea speaking to Premier League Productions: "A bit deflated to be honest. It was a bit similar to the game at home. There was nothing really in it and they came away winning 1-0. We did not get what we deserved. I think we deserved a draw.

"Everyone is disappointed. We have worked really hard this past few weeks but we've got one more game to go before the international break. We have to quickly change our focus to that and look to finish this period strong. There's still a lot of hope in the changing room. We are there or thereabouts in the games, so we are looking at it in a positive way.

Everyone expected Liverpool to get the three points. Second half they were bang on and responded in quick fashion.

They deservedly won the game.

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, speaking to Sky Sports: "When I won the ball, I saw a lot of green grass and decided to keep on running. I saw Raul [Jimenez] and I know he likes to pull to the back post. It was a difficult ball to control and finish.

"Unfortunately, today was not the result we wanted. We want to keep treating each game like a final."

The first of the evening kick-offs sees Aston Villa travel to Brentford - two clubs on the periphery of an increasingly fascinating race for Europe.

The Bees begin the game in 12th place and can move to within two points of 10th-placed Villa with a win. A win for the visitors will lift them three places to seventh.

Thomas Frank’s side were imperious at home during the first half of the season, winning seven of their opening eight Premier League games. But they are now winless in their last six, a run stretching back to early December.

Villa head to the capital off the back of two cup successes – against Cardiff in the FA Cup fifth round and Club Brugge in the Champions League last-16 first leg.

However, Unai Emery’s side have won just one of their last nine Premier League away games and none of their last seven – home or away – directly following a Champions League game.

Liverpool

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, speaking to Premier League Productions: "Southampton had a good game plan."

What did the manager say at half-time? "It was a bit of frustration. His head was going for us. We were sloppy and slow in the first half. I don't think we played good today. If you want to win the Champions League or Premier League you have to win these games like that."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke, speaking to Premier League Productions: "What a game football is. If you win it like this in the dying seconds with a penalty, it's incredible. Well done to the boys for the big effort again."

On Joao Pedro penalty: "I was full of confidence because I've never seen him miss. incredible. Well done to the boys for working so hard."

On scoring first goal: "As you could see, it was an amazing feeling. I'm really happy and it was a great header. Hopefully, more to come now. You need your first and hopefully more come.

"I think they didn't really have a lot of chances. We spoke with each other on the pitch and said we need to push."

On rest of season: "Really excited. Now we need to show up and that's what we're doing at the moment."

This is how the Premier League table looks after the 3pm games.

Liverpool are 16 clear and all but certain of the title, while the bottom three look doomed. Wolves, in 17th, can move eight points clear of the drop zone with a win against Everton this evening.

That leaves the race for Europe, which looks like it will go the distance.

Liverpool dominated in the second half, scoring three times to go 16 points clear at the top.

Southampton showed flashes, they worked really hard, but for Liverpool they march on to the Champions League before next week's cup final.

On Ipswich: "They are a good team. We knew before the game it was going to be tough."

Crystal Palace have now scored in each of their last 10 games in the Premier League, scoring a total of 18 goals during that run.

Meanwhile, Ipswich have failed to score in 10 of their 28 league games. Only Southampton (12) and Everton (12) have failed to score more often in the Premier League this season.

A somewhat different mood at full-time compared to half-time as Liverpool fans and players alike celebrate.

It is just a matter of when they win their second title of the Premier League era.

Handshakes and hugs all around for the Brighton players after a tremendous win. A lot of the fans had left the stadium thinking they'd beat the traffic. What a mistake that was.
