The Welsh side are more likely to be battling with the likes of Huddersfield to go up with Birmingham.

  5. Getting fraught at St Andrew'spublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 22 October

    Birmingham City 1-0 Bolton Wanderers

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at St Andrew's

25,769 in attendance at St Andrew's tonight.

It's a bit short of capacity - and you have to imagine that a few might have been put off by the expected traffic chaos in Brum tonight, with Villa playing at home too.

But, for all the further congestion likely after the game, those that are here have certainly not left yet.

This game has not yet been put to bed. And the mood among the home fans has become increasingly fraught, especially after Blues keeper Ryan Allsop had to save with his legs to deny Bolton sub John McAtee.

  6. CLOSE!published at 21:29 British Summer Time 22 October

    Birmingham 1-0 Bolton

Bolton finally give themselves a chance and it's one for John McAtee to rue should they lose this one.

He links up with fellow substitute Aaron Collins to get himself a 1v1 with Ryan Allsop but wastes his shot.

Still, a good opportunity for the visitors who are still in touching distance.

  7. League One updatespublished at 21:26 British Summer Time 22 October

Peterborough have made it 5-1 against Blackpool and likely put the nail in the coffin for the visitors. The fifth coming from an own goal from Odeluga Offiah, just to rub salt into the wound.

Bottom side Burton are down again as Wycombe Wanderers go 3-2 up but the Brewers have brought it back twice before so far in this match.

Meanwhile, Crawley Town have extended their lead to 2-0 against Lincoln City and Mansfield have retaken theirs to make it 2-1 in their match with Wigan Athletic.

Charlton Athletic have squared things up at Oakwell to make it 1-1 against Barnsley.

  8. Postpublished at 21:26 British Summer Time 22 October

    Exeter 1-2 Reading

Another chance for Exeter, and yet another for Ilmari Niskanen!

He's on a one-man mission to drag the Devon outfit level. This time, Kamari Doyle plays it to the back post but Niskanen heads wide.

  9. 'Blues making life harder than needed'published at 21:25 British Summer Time 22 October

Chris Davies for the first time tonight looks a little bit anxious.

In a way that seems to suggest that Blues are making this slightly harder for themselves than it needs to be.

  10. Postpublished at 21:25 British Summer Time 22 October

    Wrexham 0-0 Huddersfield

Danny Ward causes more danger to Wrexham as he gets a ball in for Bojan Radulovic but the Serbian is smothered by Arthur Okonkwo and he can't get a shot away.

The Terriers are looking the more likely in this one.

  11. Postpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 22 October

    Wrexham 0-0 Huddersfield

Wrexham have not managed to test Jacob Chapman since Ryan Barnett early in the first half.

Will Phil Parkinson's team have to settle for a point and the loss of their 100% home record?

  12. 'Blues need to regain control'published at 21:21 British Summer Time 22 October

    Birmingham 1-0 Bolton

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

Paik and Iwata haven't quite had the control with the change in Bolton's personal that they had in the first half.

Blues will need them to regain control if they are to see this out.

  13. Postpublished at 21:20 British Summer Time 22 October

    Birmingham 1-0 Bolton

You can see that Bolton are wary of the threat Jay Stansfield possesses as he's swarmed by white shirts while looking for a pass through to a teammate.

He ends up chucking it towards goal but purposelessly as there's no Blues players in sight and Luke Southwood is able to collect it with ease.

  14. Postpublished at 21:19 British Summer Time 22 October

    Barrow 1-0 Notts County

Nice move from the visitors as Alassana Jatta and Jevani Brown link up well but Brown is unable to keep his effort down.

And before that Katia Kouyate had a decent chance for Barrow as he tried to dink one over Alex Bass who was equal to it.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 22 October

    Exeter 1-2 Reading

So close to an equaliser for Exeter!

Ilmari Niskanen is desperately unlucky not to net his second of the night and second Grecians goal as he rattles the post.

  16. Postpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 22 October

    Birmingham 1-0 Bolton

Birmingham's Keshi Anderson takes a shot at goal but Luke Southwood - who's had a very busy game so far - knocks it out for a corner.

It's taken out wide with Alex Cochrane giving it a go from distance. It doesn't pay off as it heads north of the bar to the ooo's of the crowd.

He still seems jolly, which makes sense given how well Birmingham have controlled the game so far.

  17. Postpublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 22 October

    Wrexham 0-0 Huddersfield

Just under 13,000 at the Stok Rek tonight and they are awaiting a goal.

We are closing in on the 75-minute mark - surely one goal would win it for either side.

  18. Postpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 22 October

    Barrow 1-0 Notts County

    John Thompson
    Former Notts County captain

Notts are starting to pass the ball around with a bit more confidence in this second half.

Still plenty of time for us to get something.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 22 October

    Birmingham 1-0 Bolton

Time for the big money man to make his return.

Jay Stansfield makes his way onto the pitch after recovering from his knock while on England Under-21 duty as Alfie May departs.

Ethan Laird is also off with Taylor Gardner-Hickman taking his place.
