  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Having received the only yellow card of the evening so far, Dons boss Johnnie Jackson is taking no chances on Riley Harbottle.

He's off and replaced by Romaine Sawyers at the break.

    Off we go again.

Can the Gills turn things around?

Can someone break the deadlock at Rodney Parade?

Only one way to find out...

  3. 'A long way back'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    HT: Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

    Peter Lloyd
    BBC Radio Kent

Gillingham huffed and puffed, but didn't trouble Bromley until their first shot on target at the end of the half.

Bromley have controlled the game, they haven't played us off the pitch but they've won their individual battles.

We've got to be a bit cuter going forward, Bromley look purposeful and confident, an easy opening 45 minutes.

The manager and players can have no complaints about the crowd reaction.

It's a long way back now.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

    So easy for Bromley.

A close-range finish from Louis Dennis and Jude Arthurs' acrobatic effort from Idris Odutayo's long throw means the visitors are in total control.

It could have been worse for Gillingham had Glenn Morris not denied Odutayo from close range while Danny Imray's cross was inches away from being tucked home by one of three onrushing attackers.

All Gillingham have had to offer is a Jack Nolan corner kick which Grant Smith tipped over, and a late Max Clark drive from the edge of the box which the visiting goalkeeper held on to.

The home side made six changes at the start tonight - I wonder how many boss Mark Bonner might like to make now?

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Dons keeper Owen Goodman has been kept busy by the Newport attack, especially Michael Spellman's long-range efforts, but he has withstood the pressure to keep it goalless at Rodney Parade.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Newport keeper Jacob Carney hasn't had much to do tonight but he needed to be lively then.

Matty Stevens tries to catch him off guard by lifting a shot over the keeper from just outside the box and while the arc is perfect, it doesn't fool the man in goal.

  7. Postpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

A corner kick for Gillingham - Jack Nolan whips in a left-footed inswinger which Bromley goalkeeper Grant Smith is forced to tip over.

We are into five minutes of time added on.

  8. Postpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

The majority of the Bromley fans are being housed in the open end at Priestfield.

They're in the kind of green seats you see around the 18th green at a major golf championship.

They got a real drenching from a heavy rain shower earlier in the half but they'll be really enjoying what they're seeing and now Glenn Morris has to save with his legs for Gillingham.

Michael Cheek cuts the ball back and Idris Odutayo sees his close-range effort well saved.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Dons defender Riley Harbottle is given the first card of the night after pushing a Newport player to the floor.

    He accepts with little argument.

It leads to Michael Spellman taking a shot from distance, which Dons keeper Owen Goodman saves.

    Deja vu, anyone?

  10. 'The crowd are frustrated'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

    Peter Lloyd
    BBC Radio Kent

Bromley are winning all their individual battles so far.

The crowd are getting frustrated to get the ball forwards, but I think we have to be cuter than that.

In this situation, we need to build the play.

  11. Postpublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

A first sight of goal for Bromley's talisman as a cross is sent in for Michael Cheek.

He gets his head to the ball but can only direct it over from about 14 yards out.

A third goal for Bromley would surely finish this already.

  12. Postpublished at 20:26 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Newport have easily been the dominant side so far but the Dons look promising on the counter.

Josh Kelly runs into a good area but as the ball cuts through to him, the flag is up for offside.

  13. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

Some excellent build-up play by Bromley but Gillingham are able to clear as a cross goes in towards Michael Cheek.

A foul brings about a free-kick for the visitors wide on the right but it's flicked away.

Someone just needs to give Gillingham a nudge and tell them we've been going for 35 minutes...

  14. Postpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

It's dry over in South Wales but a chilly night.

Feeling hot though is Bobby Kamwa, who is a live wire on that left-hand side and takes a chance from a tight angle.

He gets the trajectory right but it can't escape the mitts of Dons keeper Owen Goodman, who denies his shot into the corner.

  15. Postpublished at 20:19 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

Six changes were made by Gillingham boss Mark Bonner tonight, which was a reaction to defeats by Colchester and AFC Wimbledon over the festive period.

Not sure the home head coach will be ecstatic with how those adjustments are panning out.

One of the players coming in, Joseph Gbode, has a little burst down the left but he falls over when challenged and Bromley clear.

  16. Postpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

The rain is lashing down at Priestfield now which, as you can imagine, has really improved the mood of the home fans.

Their side have produced diddly squat so far and are being dominated.

  17. Postpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Newport 0-0 AFC Wimbledon

Michael Spellman and shots at distance being saved by Dons keeper Owen Goodman - the starring feature of the night so far.

This time the ball simply rolls towards Spellman and he thinks, "Why not?"

Goodman is away from his line and dives low to smother the ball to make his third save from Spellman's long-range efforts.

  18. 'Disastrous start for Gills'published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-2 Bromley

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

Some boos around here, everyone is shellshocked.

In that situation, you just have to clear it, a pretty disastrous start for the Gills.

You almost feel it's game over already.

  19. goal

GOAL Gillingham 0-2 Bromleypublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Jude Arthurs (26 mins)

The boos ring out at Priestfield.

Gillingham fail to deal with Idris Odutayo's long throw and Jude Arthurs acrobatically hooks the ball into the net.

Arthurs is a former Gillingham youth player by the way...

  20. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 January

    Gillingham 0-1 Bromley

Danny Imray marauds forward for the visitors and his shot is blocked by Shadrach Ogie.

There are a few dissenting voices in the home crowd now.
