Ben asks: "What're your thoughts on Bruno? Everyone knows he is a great player. But I don't think he would get near City, Arsenal or Liverpool's first teams because he loses the ball 34 times per game. The system means nothing when you have your captain and third midfielder having no discipline."

Simon Stone says: "Hiya Ben. This is a tricky one. Bruno gets questioned a lot but he is a leader – and United don’t have that many of them – and their most creative force. I agree though, he sometimes lacks discipline. That is why I thought the decision to use him as a false nine in the FA Cup final was an excellent one because he doesn’t wreck your defensive shape if he gets in the wrong position. I thought that may hint at what was to come this season but Ten Hag doubled down on his preference to have a striker by signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

"Bruno has not played well this season and I had thought his red card against Tottenham would force United into another tactic during his three-game ban. That position has now changed – but maybe Ten Hag will look at something against Fenerbahce later this month. It is definitely a problem and there are no easy answers."

Newcastle United

Eddie Howe on whether Alexander Isak will be available for section, along with any other updates on who will and wont be available against Everton tomorrow:

No unfortunately he [Isak] wont make the game, we are hoping he’ll be back with Callum [Wilson] for the game after the international break. Nick Pope and Fabian Shar should be okay and we also hope that Kieran Trippier will be available this weekend."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler on team news: "Let's start with the positives, Brajan Gruda, Solly Marsh, they trained very good this week. They might be an option for the weekend. The others, the long term injuries, Matt O'Riley, Pedro, JP and James Milner but he's also an option for this weekend. So I think positives and negative news but in general, we see more positives that the players come back."

Liverpool will be playing at 12:30 BST on Saturday and, under former boss Jurgen Klopp, that usually meant it was time for broadcasters and authorities to take cover.

Klopp, to put it mildly, was not a fan of that particular kick off time, especially after an international break or following a midweek game for his side and the German regularly vented his anger about it.

Having played on Wednesday against Bologna in the Champions League, the Reds visit Crystal Palace in the league in Saturday’s lunchtime start and it’ll be interesting to see what current Liverpool manager Arne Slot has to say about the issue.

The Dutchman briefly mentioned the quick turnaround after the 2-0 win against Bologna so we’ll find out when he chats to the media at 10:30 BST today.

Liverpool have played at 12:30 BST once before this season but that was the opening match of the campaign and not after a midweek outing.

Slot has won eight of his first nine games in charge but will he have to rotate his squad more than he has done so far to try to register a sixth victory in a row?

Italian forward Federico Chiesa missed the win against Bologna because of injury and we’ll also find out what the latest is on his fitness and any other injury concerns.

Marlowe asks: "Hi Simon. Would you agree that, despite the structural challenges, Ten Hag appears incapable (at United) of coaching a quality group of players to be organised and consistent? And if that is true, why do you think that is? (he clearly was able to do it at Ajax)."

Simon Stone says: "It certainly appears that way Marlowe. I have asked him myself and been in press conferences where others have asked about repeated failures of his team but Ten Hag tends to reject this and say there is improvement. But it is a fact they concede goals quickly after each other, and it happened again last night. It is a fact Micky van der Ven went on a 60-yard run without being challenged just days after an FC Twente player did the same thing on the same ground.

"Players make mistakes, it is a fact of life. But making them repeatedly in a short period of time suggests more fundamental issues. It does make you wonder if the players are taking on board the messages they are getting – but then the late equaliser dispels the notion United’s players are not trying for the manager."

Manager Erik ten Hag insists Manchester United will resolve their defensive issues but says the players must take responsibility following their 3-3 draw at Porto in the Europa League.

Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on Evanilson scoring his first Premier League goal for the club:

"I think he is relived after the goal. He is very important for us. He was playing well but after the penalty miss, he felt bad. When he scored you could see his reaction and his team mates."

"I want him to be the player who scores all the goals. He has to help us play well. His understanding is getting better, he needs to help us on the press. I focus more on these things rather than goals."

Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola on facing Leicester City away this weekend:

"I think its going to be difficult, especially away games. They’ve been fighting in every game. I think we have be at our best if we want to win. Its difficult for every team to win game. They are doing good things and its going to be difficult."

Anon asks: "Simon I have followed United for 60 years and last night's substitution of Rashford is one of the worst decisions in all that time. We want him back to his best and he was something like that last night first half for the manager to make that change and then offer rotation as the reason is shocking same as resting him at Palace, thoughts please?"

Simon Stone says: "You must have seen quite a few baffling substitutions in 60 years. My memory does not stretch back that far but I have reported on the club for a long time and seen plenty that didn’t make sense, including Sir Alex Ferguson’s.

"Last night’s didn’t make much sense to me given how Rashford had performed and the state of the game. Erik ten Hag said after the game there was a defensive issue as his team did not defend properly down their left hand side. However, he also said that wasn’t the reason he was replaced. In the end, you can only judge on the outcome and if Rashford has a major role in a United victory at Aston Villa on Sunday, it will have worked. But I would have thought Rashford himself will have been bemused at being replaced, just as he was by being left out at Palace. After his struggles last season, now he is in form, I would be wanting him to play as much as possible."

"I think Tyler [Adams] will not be fit for the game. He's going to train fully with the team during the international break but he won't be involved in the game tomorrow.

James asks: "Why is it that a player like Matthijs de Ligt, once one of the most sought after defenders in Europe, starts playing for Man United and looks very very average. The same thing happened to Varane. It's just baffling."

Simon Stone says: "I think there are two separate issues here James. Varane was an outstanding player but his body wasn’t capable of coping with the rigours of the Premier League. Maybe United should have known that. De Ligt has not developed into the player he seemed destined to become when he skippered Ajax to within a minute of the Champions League final in 2019.

"I have spoken to coaches who have worked with him who have suggested there are flaws in his game that need to be eradicated. That is a worry because it feels as though Ten Hag wanted De Ligt to partner Leny Yoro as part of his first-choice central defensive partnership and as the more experienced player, De Ligt should be guiding the Frenchman round the pitch not the other way round."

Celtic earned a dramatic late draw with SWPL league leaders Rangers after a battling, end-to-end derby in Cumbernauld.

Kirsty Howat's well-struck volley gave the hosts an early lead before Katie Wilkinson doubled their advantage from the spot, with Tessel Middag having a header disallowed in between.

Celtic pulled a goal back through a Saoirse Noonan penalty, before Celya Barclais cracked in a late equaliser off the post in a dramatic finale.

Rangers move one point clear of Glasgow City, with Celtic a point further back.

Former Manchester United and Sweden footballer Jesper Blomqvist on Manchester United's performance against Porto in the Europa League: "Yeah, it just keeps repeating itself. It's really hard to watch. I can't see the situation helping him [Erik Ten Hag], It's of course a strength, you're one man down and you get an equaliser. It shows a bit of character and that you're still fighting.

"Of course Porto away is a tough place to go to but still you expect more. But, I don't think you can look at it and say it's just one game. You look at the records in the Europa games, they have one win out of 10 and I think that's something you have to look at and see and that's just not good enough."

Simon Stone says: "Hiya Katy. I feels as though Rashford is one of those players people like to criticise for what they don’t do, rather than what they do. The movement and control that carried him into the penalty area for United’s opener last night was sensational. Not many players are capable of that and it is why I would always want Rashford in my team.

"I do think there are issues in terms of closing opponents down and leading the press. He is moving into the prime of his career so there can be no excuses on the score any more. But he remains an excellent player and when the confidence is flowing, he is very difficult to stop."

Harry Maguire says everyone has to "stick together" after his last-minute header earned Manchester United a draw at Porto in the Europa League.

The Red Devils looked set for a defeat that would likely increase the pressure on manager Erik ten Hag before Maguire struck from a corner to make it 3-3.

However, while they avoided the loss, Manchester United are without a win in four games and have a tough trip to Aston Villa on Sunday in the Premier League.

"When you play for this club or manage this club the pressure comes on," Maguire said. "The manager is more than experienced enough.

"We’re fighting. [We've] got to stick together, keep the belief, hope things change and make sure they do."

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe spoke to Sky Sports about about playing Everton at Goodison Park tomorrow:

"We've been a bit inconsistent. It's about find that 95 min performance, like we did against Manchester City last weekend.

"We are going to have to be together for the whole game at Goodison Park.

"It's a tough game last year we conceded three late goals against them. We have to be on our guard and be good with the ball."

Newcastle United

In the first half, Marcus Rashford scored and provided an assist before being replaced at half-time by Alejandro Garnacho.

On the ball, Rashford completed all three of his attempted dribbles and won all four of the duels he was involved in.

Rashford attempted 19 passes in his 45 minutes outing, completing 16 of them at a success rate of 84%.

Statistics website Sofascore gave Rashford a match rating of 8.6 out of 10, making him the site's player of the match.
