First real venture forward for the visitors and captain Moussa Sissoko gets about as warm a welcome as he'd expect from the Sunderland faithful.

The ex-Newcastle player forces a corner, with Mattie Pollock's shot blocked by Black Cats skipper Dan Neil.

It hits the arm but it's down by his side.

    No pen. We move.

A lovely turn on the left from Enzo Le Fee gets Sunderland away down the left with the first moment to get the home fans off their feet.

He finds Dennis Cirkin, who makes the cutback for Chris Rigg on the edge of the box. But it's an easy first save for Hornets keeper Egil Selvick on his first appearance.

Sunderland starting to find their feet here.

Sunderland's excellent season continued on Monday with a thrilling 3-2 win at Middlesbrough.

The Wearsiders are right in the hunt for a return to the Premier League, eight years after tumbling out of the top tier.

The Black Cats would be even better placed if they hadn't coughed up two points late on in their 2-2 draw with bottom side Plymouth in their last home game.

Still, they remain unbeaten at the Stadium of Light all season and will be confident of picking up the points today against a Watford side who are going the wrong way.

The Hornets have lost six of their past eight games to drop down to 12th.

Tom Cleverely's men are only three points off the play-off places though and did beat Sunderland in the first meeting between these two this campaign.

  14. Armstrong straight in for Baggies, as Bannan misses out for Owlspublished at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time

West Brom v Sheff Wed (12:30 GMT)

    West Brom XI

West Brom added Southampton forward Adam Armstrong on loan in the final hours of deadline day on Monday and he comes straight into their team today.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Alex Palmer left for Ipswich on Monday so Joe Wildsmith is in nets and defender Mason Holgate misses out through illness, meaning Kyle Bartley returns to the team and is named captain.

Sheffield Wednesday skipper Barry Bannan is out injured in what is a major blow for the Owls.

Boss Danny Rohl makes two further changes with Calum Paterson and Jamal Lowe dropping to the bench.

Nathaniel Chalobah, Michael Smith and Stuart Armstrong come into the XI. It's a full debut for the latter.

With many of their play-off chasing rivals not in league action this weekend West Brom can strengthen their top six position with victory today.

Albion have lost just once at home all season, although seven draws has stopped them putting more pressure on the teams above them.

Visitors Sheffield Wednesday have play-off aspirations of their own and would climb into the top six if they could continue their excellent away form with a win.

Only the Championship's runaway top four have claimed more points on their travels than the 20 Danny Rohl's men have accumulated from 14 games.

There may only be four Championship games today but there are plenty of other matches involving second-tier clubs in the FA Cup fourth round.

And what a big one to kick things off - league leaders Leeds United against Millwall.

There's no love lost between these two clubs, who have developed a real north-south rivalry.

Millwall came out on top last time these sides met, winning 1-0 at The Den in November.

Expect a big atmosphere at Elland Road and maybe some fresh faces on show, with this Millwall's first outing since signing three players on transfer deadline day.

You can follow the action from that one here.

With only Derby County and Portsmouth of the sides in immediate danger playing today it's a chance for both to try and put some distance between themselves and the bottom three.

Derby, who sacked boss Paul Warne yesterday, are looking to avoid a club record equalling eighth successive league defeat at Norwich but only a win will be enough to climb out of the relegation zone.

Portsmouth take their miserable away record of six straight defeats to promotion-chasing Sheffield United.

Table-topping Leeds and Burnley did their work for this weekend early by winning in midweek, so it's over to the teams below them to respond today.

Sheffield United only need a point against Portsmouth at Bramall Lane to return to the automatic promotion places, while Sunderland need a win over Watford at lunchtime to keep pace with the three sides currently above them.

There could be some movement in the play-off places as well with Blackburn Rovers on Cup duty tomorrow. West Bromwich Albion will move above Rovers with a win over Sheffield Wednesday but defeat could see the Owls in the top six by five o'clock.

Norwich City are also looking to break into the play-off spots and would do so by beating managerless Derby County.
