    WHAT?!

Leeds scored inside three minutes on Sunday but that was sluggish compared to this!

The hosts rampage down their right and Dan James' cross into the middle is hammered home by Manor Solomon, who also scored the early opener on Sunday.

    It's down as 31 seconds!

There is currently a moment of applause taking place where all 20,000 inside Fratton Park are paying tribute to Portsmouth fan Alec Lumb who very sadly passed away at the ground on Saturday.

There have already been some touching tributes for Alec via an online book of condolences that the club has set up.

A fundraiser has also been put together by some fans and that has raised over £14,000 for Alec’s family, the current two top donors on the page are Portsmouth owner Eric Eisner and captain Marlon Pack.

Both sets of players are wearing black armbands tonight as a mark of respect towards Alec’s passing and flowers have been laid on the seat where he had his season ticket for many years.

This is a very emotional tribute that has been observed by every single person in the stadium.

  4. Same side and same subs for Leeds, one change for Canariespublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

    Leeds v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

As Norwich fans grew accustomed to during his time in charge of their side, Leeds boss Daniel Farke is not a man to make changes for change's sake. He names the exact same starting 11 and subs bench tonight as he did for the win over Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

Norwich City make one change from their 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday. Oscar Schwartau is in for Ante Crnac.

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho sticks with the same line-up that beat Middlesbrough 2-1 on Saturday.

Matt Ritchie unsurprisingly keeps his place after his double helped Pompey come from behind to win that game.

Mark Robins makes two changes for Stoke City following their 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.

Left-back Josh Wilson-Esbrand goes straight into the side for his Potters debut after signing on loan from Manchester City for the rest of the season.

Niall Ennis starts up front in place of Nathan Lowe, who scored inside nine minutes upon his return from a loan spell at League Two leaders Walsall at The Hawthorns. Lowe drops to the bench, as does Enda Stevens.

Sheff Wed v Bristol City (19:45 GMT)

Sheffield Wednesday make two changes form the side that lost 3-0 at Leeds on Sunday. Marvin Johnson and Ike Ugbo come back into the 11 in place of Anthony Musaba and Svante Ingelsson. Striker Ugbo is without a league goal all season. Meanwhile, midfielder Shea Charles plays his final game before returning to parent side Southampton.

Bristol City also make two changes from their weekend defeat. Mark Sykes and Yu Hirakawa are in and Anis Mehmeti and Haydon Roberts drop to the bench.

    Plymouth v Burnley (20:00 GMT)

Miron Muslic makes just one change to the Plymouth side that lost 1-0 at home to QPR on Saturday.

And as we've just seen, it's an eyebrow-raising omission as Morgan Whittaker is left out the squad amid links with a January transfer to tonight's opponents.

He's replaced in the starting XI by Nathanael Ogbeta, who comes into the backline.

Burnley also make one change from the goalless draw at home to Sunderland on Friday night.

Scott Parker opts to bring back in Lucas Pires at full-back in place of Chelsea loanee Bashir Humphreys who drops to the bench.

There is no Morgan Whittaker in the Plymouth Argyle line-up amid speculation linking him with a move to tonight's opponents Burnley.

The 24-year-old has been the subject of a second bid - worth £5m plus add-ons - from the Clarets.

The Pilgrims' star forward got the winning goal against Brentford in the FA Cup earlier this month and was named in last season's Championship Team of the Season.

Burnley had interest in him in the summer, while 12 months ago Italian giants Lazio were linked with a move.

On Tuesday Argyle head coach Miron Muslic said: "Until the other team is putting the money on the table that Argyle is demanding, they are all our players and under contract."

Whether Whittaker's omission is due to a possible transfer, or is to keep him out of the extra scrutiny that would have been placed upon him tonight, we will have to wait and see.

  9. Worst attack meets best defence at Home Parkpublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

    Plymouth v Burnley (20:00 GMT)

New Plymouth boss Miron Muslic has quickly learnt the full scale of the task facing him in the battle for Championship survival.

A 1-1 draw with Oxford a week ago and 1-0 defeat at home to QPR on Saturday in his first two games in charge mean it's now 13 matches (D6 L7) since the Pilgrims tasted victory in the league and they sit rock bottom, five points adrift from safety.

Plymouth welcome a Burnley side enjoying contrasting fortunes at the other end of the table, who are chasing automatic promotion and unbeaten in their past 14 games (W8 D6).

Goalkeeper James Trafford pulled off heroics last time out against Sunderland, saving two Wilson Isidor penalties in the space of 10 minutes in the closing stages to preserve a point in a goalless draw.

Those saves earned the Clarets their 18th clean sheet of a season in which they've conceded just nine goals in 27 games - or one goal every three matches - and boast by far the best defensive record.

That formidable backline may prove to be a stern test for Plymouth, who have the joint-worst attack in the division alongside Stoke (25 goals scored).

  10. Canaries look to end Leeds' home comfortspublished at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

    Leeds v Norwich (19:45 GMT)

Every team aiming to win promotion looks to make their home ground a fortress and, to that end, Leeds have done a pretty excellent job.

The Whites, who went unbeaten at Elland Road until April as they finished third last season, have only tasted defeat at home once so far this season (against Burnley way back in September) and have taken 35 points from a possible 42 in front of their own support.

Victory tonight would lift them back up to the Championship summit.

What chance do mid-table Norwich have of becoming the second team this campaign to wrestle the points from Daniel Farke's men? Well, on the face of it, slim.

The Canaries have won just one of their past 10 Championship games away from home and have come away with the points from just two of their past 11 visits to this corner of West Yorkshire.

Fratton Park has been the main source of optimism for Pompey this season - five of their six league wins have come at home and they will be hoping to add to that tonight.

We're expecting a big tribute to take place before the game when everyone will come together for a minute's applause to pay their respects for supporter Alec Lumb who very sadly passed away at Fratton Park on Saturday.

  12. Will fortress Fratton Park help Pompey halt Potters?published at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

    Portsmouth v Stoke (19:45 GMT)

Tonight presents a big opportunity for Portsmouth. Victory over Stoke City would lift them out of the relegation zone and see them climb four places from 22nd to 18th, above their opponents.

John Mousinho’s side have lost five of their past eight games in the Championship, but all of those defeats have been on the road.

Pompey continued their impressive home form by beating Middlesbrough 2-1 on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run at Fratton Park to six games (W5 D1).

Pompey have gained 19 points from 12 home games (W5 D4 L3) this season, compared to seven points from 14 away matches (W1 D4 L9), showing how much of a different force they are in their own backyard.

Meanwhile, the Potters are unbeaten in their past four Championship matches (W1 D3) following a 1-1 draw at West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, but are still searching for a first league win under new boss Mark Robins (P2 D2).

Stoke’s only victory in their past 13 games came at home to Sunderland on 29 December. Three points this evening would see them go above Millwall in 17th, but more importantly, increase the gap from the bottom three to five points.

  13. Owls and Robins look to take flight in play-off pushpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

Sheff Wed v Bristol City (19:45 GMT)

Both these teams start the night five points off the play-off places with 37 points from 27 games.

The Owls suffered a slightly harsh 3-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Yorkshire rivals Leeds on Sunday, while the Robins are looking to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at improving Coventry on Saturday.

Travelling City fans will be heading to South Yorkshire in hope rather than expectation, they haven't won any of their past seven trips to Hillsborough and last won a midweek away game on Boxing Day 2023.

Championship top 10 before kick-off on 22 January

The objective is quite straightforward for Leeds United. Win tonight and the Whites will return to the top of the pile.

As for Burnley, victory will lift them back above Sunderland into third. The Clarets could potentially go level on points with Leeds if they win and Daniel Farke's side suffer defeat at home to Norwich.

In the battle for the play-off spots, either Sheffield Wednesday (who are just cut off this graphic in 11th place) or Bristol City would move within a point of Blackburn in sixth with a win.

Plenty at stake in the top 10 this evening, then.

  15. The battle for survivalpublished at 19:23 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

The Championship bottom 10 before kick-off on 22 January

Bottom side Plymouth Argyle will be hoping to reduce the gap between themselves and safety to just two points if they can beat Burnley.

Portsmouth can climb out of the bottom three and move above Stoke if they overcome the Potters at Fratton Park, who themselves will be looking to pull further away from the bottom three.

It's ever so tight in the battle for survival with just two points separating six sides between 18th and 23rd.

The Whites welcome mid-table Norwich, while it's a trip down to struggling Plymouth for the Clarets.
