Derby are up to 11th place in the Chanmpionship with substitute Lars-Jorgen Salvesen scoring the winner against Hull City.

It's their fourth successive league win and boss John Eustace has told BBC Radio Derby:

"In the first half we were excellent, we were playing against a really good team.

"We lost our way a little bit in the second half but it's about the squad and we found a way to get the three points.

"I'm really proud of Lars (Jorgen Salvesen) scoring - he's been through a lot since joining the club and he's worked really hard to challenge Carlton (Morris) and get onto the bench and he took his goal really well.

"It's still very early, i'm not interested where we are, it's great for the confidence of the group to win again but now we've got to get rested and get ready for a difficult game on Saturday."

Derby visit John Eustace's former club, Blackburn at the weekend.

Brilliant from Coventry. Amazing having The Enemy play at the start of the match. The performance of on the pitch lived up to the energy of the band. 'We Live and Die in These Towns' - total Coventry anthem. Just need The Specials before the next match!

    Conor, Newtownabbey

The Enemy's We'll Live and Die in These Towns - originally released in 2007 - has been played before Coventry games since 2020 and has grown to become the club's unofficial anthem.

Don't let the scoreline fool you. Leicester barely deserved the draw, never mind the win. Did precious little other than convert a very controversial penalty which prevented us from losing four in a row. Terrible performance yet again.

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard told Sky Sports:

"The biggest thing is the character. We were playing okay first half but the issue was set pieces and little transition moments.

"We made a tactical change at the break but it was more about personality and the way we pushed and pushed.

"We were slightly off it at Wrexham and we had to make changes but having Bobby Thomas back tonight, he's a big big character in the team and he was outstanding tonight."

That is the 13th goal from set plays already this season, already equal with the 13 we scored from them last season.

That shows how much work they have done on them.

That long throw is a real weapon.

Lars-Jorgen Salvesen was the hero for Derby with the winning goal just moments after coming on as a substitute.

He had six months out with a serious knee injury and tonight is his second goal for the club.

The Norwegian has been talking to BBC Radio Derby:

"It's hard to explain, it's what I've been working for every day.

"After my injury and being out for six months it's all you think about and dream of.

"It's been a tough journey, I came in at a difficult time for the club and then getting my injury really quickly I couldn't contribute at the end of last season.

"I've worked so hard for six months to get back and I'm so happy now."

Coventry came from behind to beat Sheffield United and extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.

Their former boss Mark Robins inspired Stoke to another thumping win, 3-0 at Oxford United, to make it eight goals in four days and go above Middlesbrough, who needed a dramatic leveller at Leicester to snatch a point with 10 men.

Millwall were thrashed 4-0 at Birmingham but stay fourth, for 24 hours at least, while down the road Charlton are up to fifth after a dramatic win over West Brom, who slip to 14th.

Bristol City and Hull City lost ground after defeats to upwardly-mobile Blackburn and Derby respectively while Ipswich and Watford remain in the middle of the pack after sharing the points at Portman Road.

Sheffield United remain in the relegation zone after an 11th defeat of the season while it might yet get worse as the four teams around them play tomorrow night.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall at half-time.

First half they were hesitant, there looked like there was a hangover from the Wrexham game, almost like they did not want to make a mistake, then you do make mistakes.

Defensively it was not a good watch, but they still had opportunities going forward.

Whatever was said at half-time, and bringing Ephron Mason-Clark on, made such a difference.

"What we want to do is learn to win different types of games and prove ourselves in different tests.

"That's what it takes to be there at the top and we're going to have plenty more of those."

Neither side took a grip of the game in the second period but Ipswich's Ivan Azon almost won it in the dying moments only to be denied by a fine save from Egil Selvik.
