Burnley will end the weekend sitting atop the Championship after edging to a narrow 2-1 win at play-off chasing Coventry.

That combined with Leeds only managing a draw at lowly Luton and Sheffield United falling to a defeat at struggling Oxford means the Clarets are now a point clear in first.

Bristol City held on for a 2-1 win over Watford to go back up to sixth after West Brom lost at home to Sunderland and Millwall edged Portsmouth 2-1 to keep their own top six hopes just about still alive.

As with the bottom of the league, we're all set for an epic finale at the top of the Championship.

It's been a massive day at both end of the table with six games left to go.

Bottom side Plymouth held on for a vital win over Norwich to move to within four points of safety, while second-bottom Luton picked up a creditable point again promotion-chasing Leeds.

Oxford stunned second-placed Sheffield United to register just a second win in 12 games and Hull City grabbed an injury-time winner against Sheffield Wednesday to move three clear of Cardiff.

We're in for a heck of an end to the season down at the wrong end of the second tier...

“We are staying up!” is the cry from 10,000 fans in yellow in the Oxford sunshine.

They scrapped to get the only goal and to hold off wave after wave of Sheffield United attacks in the second half to keep the three points.

It’s a performance that must be good enough to keep them away from the relegation fight.

As for Sheffield United. They’ll rue the missed chances, but it’s still too close to call for any of the top teams, so they will go again.
