  2. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hibernian

The hosts are struggling to create anything in the final third.

  3. 'Hearts only have themselves to blame'published at 16:44 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-1 Dundee Utd

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It's no surprise. The game has been on a knife's edge.

I've got a little bit of sympathy for Hearts, they have been better today. But they have not troubled the goalkeeper nearly enough. When confidence is low, it feels like everything is going against you.

Hearts still only have themselves to blame for their poor run. Today has been better but they are staring down the barrel of another defeat here.

It is a really bad position to be in.

  4. 'Cheap goal to concede for Hearts'published at 16:41 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-1 Dundee Utd

    Sean Dillon
Former Dundee Utd defender on BBC Sportsound

Ross Graham makes a run in and for whatever reason nobody is across to get him.

It's not his finest strike but he won't mind. He'll be delighted.

Somebody has to go and nobody goes to him.

    It's giving away cheaply again.

    Oh wow.

Ross Graham canters up the pitch and receives a back heel from Will Ferry, before swinging a big right leg at it.

  9. Dalby and Moult to the rescue?published at 16:30 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Sean Dillon
Former Dundee Utd defender on BBC Sportsound

It'll be a 5-3-2 when defending and attacking for United.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Dalby has to offer.

Moult has not been getting as many starts as he would like, but he looks to be putting that right every time he comes on as a sub.

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Sean Dillon

The subs Hearts have just made have created an urgency in the team.

There is a sharpness now and a bit more of a drive from them.

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee United

Hearts finally get the ball into Lawrence Shankland's feet in the box, but the skipper can only hit Declan Gallagher with his shot, rather than the back of the net.

Both teams look so vulnerable to the counter attack - but who will blink first?

Barrie McKay and Yan Dhanda are on for Hearts, with Kenneth Vargas and Blair Spittal replaced.

  15. Newell knew where goal waspublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hibernian

    Kenny Crawford
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

I’m giving Joe Newell the benefit of the doubt. I think the Hibs skipper meant that goal.

He knows he’s got that kind of thing in his locker and it’s right in the top corner.

Not a bad way to open your account for the season.

  17. Postpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee United

Hearts come forward again, this time from a long diagonal from Frankie Kent.

Jorge Grant receives it. There's a handball shout, but Grant is still able to get the shot away.

VAR will have a look... no penalty.

  18. 'Vargas and Oda costing Hearts'published at 16:18 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Today shows why Hearts needed to recruit wide men. It's made a great difference in terms of the balance of the team with Vargas and Oda.

The end product is poor. It's so poor. Unfortunately for Hearts and Steven Naismith, they are just going to have to endure that lack of quality.

There are so many passed up opportunities because their quality and decision making is not at the level you would hope.

  19. CLOSE!published at 16:16 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Kilmarnock

David Watson's volleyed effort is deflected wide for a corner, but nothing comes of it.

    A chance gone.
