Summary

  1. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:33 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

A chance for Hibs at the other end.

Kwon catches the ball brilliantly on the volley from the edge of the area but Kieran O'Hara produces an excellent full-stretch save to put it behind for a corner.

Nothing comes of the resulting set-piece.

  2. CLOSE!published at 15:31 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

Killie starting to threaten now and Hibs are struggling.

Danny Armstrong's left-footed effort goes wide of the goal but it was nearly redirected by Bruce Anderson sliding in at the back post.

  3. 'Both defences struggling out wide'published at 15:31 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Sean Dillon
Former Dundee Utd defender on BBC Sportsound

The story of the game so far has been play down wide areas.

It's a brilliant ball in. I'm not sure if Stephenson sees it late or if he just can't get himself into a position to get a proper header on it. But it's a great move.

Both defences are being troubled by play in the wide areas.

  4. CLOSE!published at 15:31 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

Matty Kennedy beats Lewis Miller and stands up a left-footed cross for Kyle Vassell.

The skipper meets it but heads it well over the bar. Decent chance,

Here's an image of that Kyle Vassell miss.

He's not bang in the middle of the goal, but that's no excuse.

    An absolute sitter.

Hibs are really struggling to find possession.

  7. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee United

Another good chance for United. It's Kristijan Trapanovski with a brilliant ball in, curled towards the back post, and Luca Stephenson glances his header wide.

He just gets caught under it ever so slightly.

  8. 'United back three struggling with match-ups'published at 15:24 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Sean Dillon
Former Dundee Utd defender on BBC Sportsound

There is a little bit of hassle now at the back for Dundee United.

Vargas and Oda are causing problems on the shoulder.

It's three against three at times, they need to be careful.

  9. 'Difference from Thursday is clear'published at 15:23 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

The difference from Thursday night to today is so clear.

Hearts look so threatening and capable of opening up United's defence.

Dundee United are no mugs, but because of the way Hearts have set up - with a desire to go forward - they looked far more threatening.

  10. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

Rudi Molotnikov is changing his boots already.

We all know how unforgiving the astroturf is for blisters.

Not a place to break in a new pair.

  11. Postpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee United

Hearts have had more possession, but United maybe a little more penetration.

This time it's Hearts who win a corner after a good run and link up involving James Penrice. The corner is headed away, though.

Opta have rated that Kyle Vassell miss with an xG of 0.6.

    That's very generous.

One to watch on Sportscene later.

  13. Brucie's brightpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

    Kenny Crawford
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

Killie striker Bruce Anderson’s looking eager to impress.

It’s only the former Aberdeen and Livingston man's second start of the season and he's still waiting on his first goal for the club.

  14. Miss of the season?published at 15:16 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

How has Kyle Vassell missed? We've had a few bad ones already this season, but this could be the worst.

Danny Armstrong's corner is flicked on at the front post and finds Kyle Vassell with an open net at the back post.

Instead of tapping it in the with his right, the captain goes with his left and gets it all wrong.

    Somehow still 0-0.

  15. 'Vargas should do better'published at 15:15 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    It's good play from Hearts.

Vargas was in a very similar position to one he was in against Plzen the other night. That time he fluffed it wide, this time it's down into the ground.

He is offside, but I still think he should have done better.

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee United

Hearts create a chance from deep as Jorge Grant crosses for Kenneth Vargas. He plants his header into the ground and Jack Walton makes a good save.

The replays show he was offside. Wouldn't have counted anyway, but he should score that. Only six yards out.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

Corrie Ndaba goes into the book for a very late one on Lewis Miller.

That didn't look good. VAR will look at this, but it isn't much of a look.

    Play on.

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee Utd

    Michael Stewart
Former Hearts midfielder on BBC Sportsound

With Vargas and Oda in the wide areas, I've been screaming about this for so long, now Hearts having players in the wide areas that can get in behind and penetrate the opposition.

The end product from both of them is questionable. If you want to play like that, they should have been recruiting in the summer. And they haven't done.

  19. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 1 September

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hibernian

Matty Kennedy seems to have shaken off that early injury scare.

    He's back on the pitch.

  20. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 1 September

    Hearts 0-0 Dundee United

An early chance for Dundee United.

David Babunski swings in a free-kick to Emmanuel Adegboyega, and the defender heads over unmarked from 10 yards.

Another dodgy bit of defending from a set-piece. That was Hearts' Achilles heel against Motherwell last week.
