We still have around 135 more minutes of Championship action to get through today, but the team at Opta have already highlighted a pick of the day's best statistics.

There is a bit for Stoke, Hull and Cardiff to enjoy, and some extra grim reading for Luton Town and Plymouth Argyle...

    • Luton have lost each of their past nine away games in the Championship, which is the Hatters’ longest such streak since 11 successive away defeats between October 2019 – February 2020.
    • Stoke City ended a run of nine winless Championship games (D4 L5) by defeating Sunderland 1-0 with their winning goal from Tom Cannon at 91:42; serving as the club’s latest on record in the EFL since Sam Vokes scored at 96:17 vs Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day 2019.
    • After their 1-0 victory at Ewood Park vs Blackburn Rovers, Hull City won an away league game without conceding for the first time since January this year against Sunderland.
    • Plymouth have conceded 47 away goals in the Championship in 2024, with only Reading in 2022 (48), Rotherham United in 2016 (48) and Huddersfield Town in 2014 (50) shipping more in a calendar year in the competition over the past 10 years.
    • Callum Robinson netted Cardiff City’s opener after just 54 seconds at Watford this afternoon, the Welsh side’s fastest EFL goal since Opta records began (2013-14).

Former Derby and Man Utd goalkeeper on BBC Radio Derby

Hopefully during half-time the referee will have a good look in the mirror. I don't think the assistant referees have helped the referee enough either.

So far, Derby have done well, but we need a little bit more quality on the ball and get up the field.

The Derby County fans have definitely shown their feelings towards the referee.

Derby had to withstand some pressure in the first 20 minutes of the game, but we slowly started to get into it.

There's not been a huge amount of goal-scoring opportunities. That first goal on the road is always important for Leeds.

We've got to make the most of our opportunities and make it count.

Leeds have done most of the running but they're yet to force Jacob Widell Zetterstrom in the Derby goal into any serious work and it's 0-0 at the half.

As it stands the Whites will be going back to the top of the Championship but only on goal difference.

We're into a minimum of two minutes added on at the end of the half.

We'll certainly have more than that though as Derby skipper Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is down getting some treatment after getting the wind knocked out him in a clash with Leeds midfielder Ao Tanaka.

Watford head coach Tom Cleverley said his side "weren't good enough" after their 15-game unbeaten home run was ended by Cardiff City.

"All good things come to an end," Cleverley told BBC Radio Three Counties.

"The way we started the game, the one thing you don't want to do when a team is fighting for their lives is give them that early hope to cling on to.

"Along with that, we made too many unforced errors, which we didn't last week against Portsmouth.

"Today we let them off the hook too many times with sloppiness, with lack of concentration and it was a game we have to take on the chin and say that we weren't good enough to a man."

On conceding the second goal so soon after equalising, Cleverley added: "We came back into it and scored the goal in a real positive period for us and couldn't have conceded our second goal at a worse moment.

"Conceding a goal has to be the worst possible thing that can happen to you and that is high focus over mind and body and I just think we can improve in that department."

Swansea head coach Luke Williams following their 2-1 win over Luton Town:

"We started the game in the correct way. We made an error and got punished for that, but I was really happy with the response to going behind.

"I think we deserved to be on level terms, no doubt, and the next big challenge for the group is when Luton go down to 10 men, to not rush and not try to score with every action.

"I think maybe for the first few minutes we did that, but then we tried to play more calmly.

"We can all feel the anxiety because everyone wants us to score, they want us to get what we deserve. We coped with that in the correct way.

"A very mature performance and the lads got what they deserved in the end."

    Luton Town

    Rob EdwardsImage source, Rex Features

Luton manager Rob Edwards after his 10-man side were consigned to a ninth successive away defeat by a 2-1 reverse at Swansea:

"There have been games earlier on in this run we didn't deserve anything from, but the performances have been better recently away from home and we were the better team when the red card happened. We were in the ascendancy.

"But it was always going to be difficult with 10 men against Swansea who are the best team with the ball in the league. The lads gave everything and played well.

"He's got to be sure [with the red card]. We've gone in and spoken to him and the ref will stand by his decision.

"Joe (Johnson) is trying to get out of the way and I don't think there's any contact. I've looked at it back a few times. It's not Joe's fault, it's just an unfortunate moment."

Bristol City manager Liam Manning saw his side comfortably beat Portsmouth 3-0, with all three goals being scored in the first half.

"We have performed really well at times here and not always had the finishing touch, which I thought we did today," the Robins boss told BBC Radio Bristol.

"If I am being overly critical, it could have probably been another one or two on top."

Manning admitted that his side wanted to prove a point following defeat by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture earlier this month.

"We went down there [to Portsmouth] a few weeks ago and rightly so had a tough day," he said.

"There was an element of responding to that. The lads definitely did that from the start with the intensity, the aggression, the desire to go on and grab the game."

    John MousinhoImage source, Rex Features

Portsmouth boss John Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent:

“It was a really poor result and performance. It’s disappointing to follow up what have been really positive performances in the past couple of games.

“It was probably our best performance of the season against Coventry and we were unlucky against Watford on Thursday.

"We really shot ourselves in the foot with the first goal. I can live with going a goal down but we went under after that. We didn’t look like we competed.

“It was a complete opposite performance from the game against them at Fratton Park. We tried to freshen things up after the busy period and with a game on Wednesday.

“I don’t think the changes were the issue. If you are not at it, then you get punished."
