    The Spartans 1-0 Ross County

Joyous screams ring around Ainslie Park as unaware home supporters believe Blair Henderson has poked the ball under goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw to extent their shock advantage.

But the flag is up well before the ball even crosses the line.

County must improve if they are to snatch Spartans' well-deserved lead away from them.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Queen's Park

Vicente Besuijen came on as a half-time sub and he's been lively since his introduction.

    Aberdeen 0-0 Queen's Park

Ester Sokler slips the ball round the corner for Nicky Devlin, who goes one-on-one...

It's wide! It looked like goalkeeper Calum Ferrie got a finger-tip on that. Just a goal-kick though.

A very lively start to the second half at Pittodrie with chances at both ends.

Aberdeen have had chances to put this game to bed but haven't taken them.

Will they be made to pay?

GOAL AYR UNITED 2-2 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 17 August

    Marco Rus

The hosts are back on level terms having surrendered their early lead.

The summer signing from Coventry City gets his second goal of the season as his side looks to get back in front and stay at the table's summit.

An outside-of-the-area strike flies past Accie's keeper Charlie Albinson.

  10. GOAL Falkirk 1-0 Heart of Midlothianpublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 17 August

    Ethan Ross

Finally a goal at the Falkirk Stadium and it's for the hosts.

It's a sweeping move, with Keelan Adams crossing low from the right and former Aberdeen midfielder Ethan Ross applying a powerful finish from near the penalty spot.

Is there a shock on the cards?

No messing about from Airdrieonians player-manager Rhys McCabe as he takes himself off at half-time along with Dean McMaster and Murray Aiken.

Tasked with helping keep the Diamonds in the cup are Lewis McGrattan, Chris Mochrie and Rhys Armstrong, who has a shot deflected on to the crossbar right after the break

  12. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 17 August

    Aberdeen 0-0 Queen's Park

Zak Rudden receives the ball 30 yards out, turns and spanks the ball towards the bottom corner, but goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov makes a great save.

Aberdeen come up the other end and Ester Sokler has the ball in the back of the net - but the Dons striker is offside.

  16. Extra time - and shocks - in store?published at 16:02 British Summer Time 17 August

We could be on our way to extra time, even penalties, in three of our four League Cup last 16 ties.

Only Dundee look to have moved decisively towards the quarter-finals.

League 2 side Spartans and Championship duo Falkirk and Queen's Park still have chances of top-flight scalps.

  17. Second-half cracker in store?published at 15:57 British Summer Time 17 August

HT: Falkirk 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

    Brian McLauchlin
BBC Sport Scotland at Falkirk Stadium

Wow! Can’t quite believe we haven’t witnessed a goal here in Falkirk.

Both keepers have been terrific, but a bit more composure in front of the target from either set of strikers and this could have been anything!

Falkirk's John McGlynn probably the most content of the two managers. Second half should be a cracker!

  18. 'Finely poised' at Pittodriepublished at 15:55 British Summer Time 17 August

    HT: Aberdeen 0-0 Queen's Park

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Sport Scotland at Pittodrie

Queen's Park will be delighted with how things are playing out at Pittodrie.

Yes, Aberdeen have had a few chances that, on another day, could have found their way into the net.

And the Glasgow side have had a couple of fantastic opportunities themselves.

Aberdeen started and finished the first-half well but lost their mojo for a spell in the middle and almost paid a hefty price.

Finely poised ahead of the second 45 minutes.
