  2. Another surprise at Hampden?published at 17:21 British Summer Time 17 August

    Rangers v St Johnstone (17:45)

We'll continue to bring to reaction from those thrilling (okay, Dens Park was bit of a stroll) earlier kick-offs.

However, we still have one more League Cup last-16 tie to come and it is all-Premiership affair at Hampden.

Rangers are back at their temporary home to entertain St Johnstone.

Could we have our third surprise cup result of the day?

  3. Carey replaces suspended Esselpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 17 August

    Rangers v St Johnstone (17:45)

Craig Levein probably didn't want to make any changes to his side after they trounced Kilmarnock 3-0 last weekend in East Ayrshire, but the St Johnstone manager has been forced into one at Hampden.

Midfielder Aaron Essel is out as he is suspended after being sent off against Alloa Athletic in the previous round of the competition.

Veteran winger Graham Carey comes in, but Andre Raymond and David Keltjens have failed to recover from knocks.

  4. McGlynn a 'very proud' managerpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 17 August

FT: Falkirk 2-0 Heart of Midlothian

Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Sportsound he is "very proud, very proud of the players" after their win over top-flight Hearts.

"I thought they were enormous, different class - amazing performance," he says.

"We rode our luck early doors. Hearts hit the bar and big Nicky's made two or three good saves with his feet.

"When we rode that storm and got over that period, we grew into the game and caused Hearts problems. Second half, Hearts were not really creating a lot.

"They just continuously achieve, continually turn out these performances that are not flukes. There's such consistency in their play."

FT: The Spartans 1-0 Ross County

As for County, they are the first Premiership side since Motherwell - in September 2012 versus Rangers - to lose to a fourth-tier side in the League Cup last 16 or beyond.

A day to forget for the Dingwall side.

Ridvan Yilmaz, through injury, Connor Barron, Tom Lawrence, Ross McCausland, and Cyriel Dessers are all out.
