    Rock bottom Southampton's last Premier League win was on 1 February. They becamethe first team to be relegated from the Premier League this season - but still have something to play for.

    They are trying to avoid the unwanted record for the lowest-ever points tally in a Premier League season.

    Derby hold the record after finishing 2007-08 with 11 points - one point more than Saints have now.

    Southampton's remaining five games after Saturday's match at West Ham are: Fulham (home), Leicester (away), Manchester City (home), Everton (away) and Arsenal (home).

    Forward Hwang Hee-chan has a muscle problem and is also doubtful.

It's a big positive message for all of us, and therefore the word for Easter is positivity."

    He also said that there is a "chance" that James Milner and Ferdi Kadioglu will play again before the end of the season.

    Aston Villa boss Unai Emery said he currently has a full squad to select from for the visit of Newcastle on Saturday after Tuesday's dramatic Champions League exit:

    "We are going to train this afternoon and to test the players, to see how they are for tomorrow. It is good news that in the last matches we recovered a lot of players.

    "At the beginning every player is available, unless someone is feeling something or is more tired than normal."

    Leon Bailey returned to the matchday squad for Tuesday's game while Ross Barkley made his first appearance since January.

    Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is expecting the same squad to be available for Saturday's match against Bournemouth: “All players are fit and available and ready to go.”

    Just before Glasner spoke to the media, Crystal Palace announced that fullback Daniel Munoz has signed a new contract with the club.

    The Colombian has extended his stay at Selhurst Park until 2028.

    The maximum number of points achievable for the sides inside the bottom three is 39.

    There are five teams above Ipswich - who occupy the final relegation spot on 21 points with six to play - who are still not mathematically safe.

    West Ham and Wolves have 35, Tottenham 37 while Manchester United and Everton both have 38.

    If Ipswich lose at home to Arsenal on Sunday then they can only reach 36 points - and Tottenham, Manchester United and Everton will all be safe whatever happens in their games.

    With five weeks of the season still remaining, all three relegation places could be confirmed this weekend.

    Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy on the possibility the Foxes can be relegated on Sunday: "We've been in these circumstances for a long time now. It's not about it being mathematically done, but us showing ourselves for every minute that we're in this league.

    "It's not a matter of stopping when it's mathematically done, because it's bigger than that here. It's about shaping a future here, that's what's important.

    "We're going to keep going anyway, these four or five weeks will be huge."

    At his pre-match news conference on Friday, Ruud van Nistelrooy was asked whether he wants to remain at Leicester City next season.

    The Foxes are on the brink of being relegated back to the Championship after just four wins in 32 matches.

    Van Nistelrooy was named Leicester's new boss in November and signed a contract until June 2027 at the King Power Stadium.

    "You have to be on the same page to move forward and that's what we have to find out," he said when asked about his future.

    "Then I will inform you."

    We heard earlier from Arne Slot on the prospect of Liverpool winning the title at Leicester on Sunday, but the Foxes' return to the Championship could also be confirmed on Sunday.

    They are 17 points from safety with a possible 18 points to play for.

    Leicester will be relegated if:

    • They fail to beat Liverpool.
    • Or if West Ham (home v Southampton on Saturday, 15:00 BST) and Wolves (away v Man Utd on Sunday, 14:00) both win before Leicester play at 16:30 on Sunday.

    To make matters worse, Ipswich town boss Kieran McKenna confirmed January signing Jaden Philogene has an MCL injury and is very unlikely to feature again this season.

    He also added that Omari Hutchinson and Kalvin Phillips remain unavailable for Sunday's fixture.

    Forward Liam Delap has trained and will be assessed before the Arsenal game.

    Right, on to the relegation picture.

    We already know Southampton have gone. But what about 19th-placed Leicester and 18th-placed Ipswich?

    Well, both could join the Saints back in the Championship this weekend.

    Leicester are 17 points from safety with a possible 18 points to play for and will be relegated if they fail to beat Liverpool or if West Ham and Wolves both win before Leicester play at 16:30 BST on Sunday.

    Ipswich will also be relegated straight back to the Championship on Sunday if they fail to beat Arsenal - and West Ham and Wolves both win.

    Other teams not mathematically safe with six games to go include West Ham (35 points), Wolves (35 points), Tottenham (37 points), Manchester United and Everton (both 38 points).

    However, there is a 14-point gap between 17th-placed West Ham and the relegation zone.

    Saturday's evening game represents a meeting of two of the Premier League's form teams.

    Both Aston Villa and Newcastle have enjoyed good cup runs and juggled them impressively with consistent results in the league, meaning they are still well in contention for a top-five finish and Champions League qualification.

    Villa are in the FA Cup semi-finals and seventh in the Premier League - on 54 points, one point outside the top five.

    While EFL Cup winners Newcastle have moved up to third, and have a five-point cushion over Villa going into Saturday's game at Villa Park.

    On Newcastle's rise up the table, Jason Tindall added: "We're in a good moment and delivering good performances. Now we need to be consistent."

    The main piece of team news from Newcastle United assistant boss Jason Tindall was on the fitness of centre-back Sven Botman.

    Tindall said that the Netherlands defender will not return this weekend but is "ahead of schedule" in his recovery and "maybe next weekend he could be in contention for selection".

    He also reflected on winger Anthony Gordon's return from injury and whether he could start against Villa after coming off the bench in wins against Manchester United and Crystal Palace: "Anthony has played the game long enough to understand the team is playing very well. Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy are performing extremely well."
