More from Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on the fitness of Jorginho.

"Jorgy is still struggling," says Arteta. He says it is too early to say whether Jorginho will be available for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Paris St-Germain.

"That's probably a question for the doctors," he adds.

On Riccardo Calafiori, Arteta added: "If everything goes OK, I hope so [that he'll be fit for PSG]. Maybe a little bit before."

Leicester v Liuverpool (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is Liverpool's leading scorer this season, but there is a big gap between the Egyptian king and his team-mates.

Salah has 27 goals from 32 Premier League games this season. Luis Diaz is next best, with 11 goals from 31 games.

Liverpool top scorers in the league include:

    • 27 - Salah
    • 11 - Diaz
    • 8 - Cody Gakpo
    • 6 - Diogo Jota
    • 5 - Darwin Nunez, Dominik Szoboszlai
  6. Slot on what he demands from a number ninepublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 18 April

Leicester v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Finally, Liverpool manager Arne Slot spoke about what qualities he wants from a number nine: "The simple answer is goals. He needs to produce goals. Apart from that, in modern-day football, they need to work hard and be part of an intense pressing team.

"If you look at the teams that are now playing in the semi-finals of the Champions League, all 11 players work their backsides off, so that is also what I'm expecting from our number nine - that he is part of an intense, pressing team.

"In the end though, it's helpful that a number nine at Liverpool scores goals."

  7. 'It is already a big summer now'published at 12:48 British Summer Time 18 April

Leicester v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Liverpool

As well as the title race and contract talks with his key players, Liverpool manager Arne Slot also spoke about what a big summer it could be for the club as they look to build on his first season at Anfield: "I think at Liverpool there is always a big summer and it's already a big summer now. By holding on to Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk, it is already a big summer. Let's see what the rest of the summer will bring. It would be strange for me to say that I'm not happy with the team I have so maybe if we can keep that team it will already be a big summer."

On how much he wants reinforcements in the summer and where they are needed: "We have showed the opposite this season because we didn't change anything and I don't think we went downwards. In general I agree with you but there is also a lot of studies that the longer a team plays together, the more success it has.

"I think the core of the team you want to keep as long as you can together as long as they are performing the best possible way but it is also in general to have some new energy in and around the place with one or two new players. It isn't a necessity if you look at the quality we have and the quality of the season we have had."

  8. When will the title be decided if Arsenal win at Ipswich?published at 12:44 British Summer Time 18 April

If both Liverpool and Arsenal win on Sunday then the title race will continue for another week, at least.

The easiest way to compute the possible permutations is to know that Liverpool will be crowned champions if they win two more games, no matter what Arsenal do.

So if they win at Leicester this weekend and at home to Tottenham in their next game on 27 April then they will definitely win the title.

However, if Arsenal win at Ipswich but then lose their next game at home to Crystal Palace on Wednesday, 23 April, then that will hand the title to the Reds.

A draw against Palace and the Gunners would be 12 points behind Liverpool with 12 points left to play for, and an inferior goal difference.

  9. When will Liverpool win the Premier League title?published at 12:40 British Summer Time 18 April

Leicester v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 BST)

For a while now it has felt like a case of when, rather than if, Liverpool would win the Premier League title.

There is a chance that wait could finally be over this weekend.

Arne Slot's side will equal Manchester United's record of 20 top-flight titles and claim their second in the Premier League era on Sunday, if they beat Leicester AND Arsenal lose at Ipswich.

Should that happen, the Reds would be 16 points clear, with only a possible 15 still on offer to Arsenal.

Liverpool will know if the title is a possibility before they kick off, with the Gunners' game at Portman Road starting at 14:00 BST and theirs following at 16:30.

  10. 'My thoughts are not on the Premier League title at all'published at 12:35 British Summer Time 18 April

Leicester v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 BST)

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on what thought he has given to the fact the club could secure the Premier League title this weekend: "My thoughts are not on that at all. My thoughts are on Leicester and our team. About what we can improve and what we can do better. We can do many things better in the first half against West Ham and we can do a lot of things better in the second half.

"We have worked on that throughout the week a lot and now we are working towards Leicester. One game at a time and influence the one we can influence and that is the Leicester game."

On whether he has really not given it any thought: "The honest answer is no. I'm not sure if you believe me but it is the honest answer. My whole life I am living in the moment. I'm not looking backwards or looking forwards - it's the type of person I am.

"People constantly tell you to enjoy the journey but the only thing as a manager you are thinking of is the game coming up. Maybe that's one reason, I've been in football so long that I get used to living day by day and trying to influence the day."

I'm a Liverpool fan, and watched the Utd game with my daughter who isn't really interested in football (but didn't want to go to bed). That match gave me a great opportunity to show her why people love football so much. It's so unpredictable, random, heartbreaking, exciting, passionate... There are very few other things in life that can condense so many emotions into just a couple of hours. Obviously, Utd are great rivals of my team, and I cannot say I'm not a little pleased that they have fallen away this year. But I also don't resent them having that amazing night - like Liverpool, they always have that in them. Hope their fans are breathing it in and wallowing in that ecstasy today. Well done.

  12. 'Hopefully he can join us' - Slot on Alexander-Arnold's availabilitypublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 18 April

Leicester v Liverpool (Sun, 16:30 BST)

More from Arne Slot on Trent Alexander-Arnold's fitness and whether he will be available to play against Leicester: "He has worked so hard during the whole season and now during his rehab to be back with the team. The fans of Liverpool and anyone that watches football knows he is an incredible full-back, has been an incredible full-back for this football club, so let's see what the future brings."

On whether he is fit for the weekend: "Not to start but if today and tomorrow things go well, he might be on the bench. Definitely won't start because he has been out for five and a half weeks. Hopefully he can join us because for Conor to play 90 isn't easy for him as well. It will be nice if he is with us."

Trent Alexander-Arnold has not played since injuring his ankle in Liverpool's Champions League defeat to Paris St-Germain on 11 March.

Arne Slot, however, believes the full-back could be fit enough to play some part in Sunday's game at Leicester...

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on what new deals for Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah mean for Trent Alexander-Arnold's future: "I think you would be surprised if I answered differently now to what I have done for the whole season. It's nice that we have made two announcements and we can talk about that for hours but if you want to talk to me for hours about Trent then it is for hours the same answer. We do not talk about these things if they are not done yet and they are not."

On whether he is still hopeful that he will sign a new deal: "Trent is coming back from an injury, he trained with us yesterday and every time he plays with us and trains with us he shows his commitment. He has worked so hard to be back already now and the moment he is on the pitch, he shows me what a great football player he is."

  15. Any news on Trent?published at 12:17 British Summer Time 18 April

Liverpool v Leicester (Sun, 16:30 BST)

Liverpool still have one key player in Trent Alexander-Arnold whose contract is due to run out this summer and has not agreed a new deal.

It has been reported that the England full-back is in advanced talks with Real Madrid over a free transfer - either before, during or after the La Liga champions take part in the Club World Cup this summer.

Reds boss Arne Slot was asked if there was any movement on that, and gave his usual flat-bat response...

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on Virgil van Dijk extending his stay and what statement he feels the club are making by doing so: "It tells you that we want to keep our best players and the fact that we are able to keep them when they are a free agent, tells you the ambitions we have for the upcoming years.

"I'm really happy that both of them extended. We spoke about Mo Salah last week and Virgil has been so important for us defensively, offensively, in and around the dressing room - he's a great personality and a great football player."

For those who missed it, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk signed a new two-year contract with the club on Thursday.

The 33-year-old centre-back's previous contract had been set to expire at the end of the season.

But the Dutchman joined forward Mohamed Salah, who signed a two-year extension last week, in committing his future to the club.

"It was always Liverpool," said Van Dijk, who had been linked with a move to Paris St-Germain.

"That was the case. It was always in my head, it was always the plan and it was always Liverpool."

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Arne Slot on how important Virgil van Dijk is to the football club: "It's always difficult to describe. You know how important he is when you see him play, that's what we all see. I mostly watch football and look at ball possession and he is so good at bringing the ball out from the back and his diagonal passes.

"And then the leader he is around the training ground, that is something I have never worked with a player like him in terms of his leadership and the energy he brings to the team in every single training session. And how professional he is for himself but also he tries to influence his teammates and especially the younger ones. Ryan [Gravenberch] is a great example of that. He is constantly on him to try and make him even more of a professional than he already is. He is having a big influence at this club but the main influence he has is of course on the weekend."

In the words of Ian Beale, I've got nothing left.

With regard to Europa League reaction anyway.

It's time to move across to build-up to this weekend's Premier League fixtures.

We've already heard from a number of managers this morning including Liverpool boss Arne Slot.

They've had a couple of big contract extensions in their camp over the last week apparently.

Let's hear what Slot had to say on those and the potential of clinching the Premier League title on Sunday...

This is what the TNT Sports commentary team said after that comeback at Old Trafford:

Commentator Darren Fletcher: "You start to wonder if their name is on the trophy after a comeback like this?"

Former Man Utd defender Rio Ferdinand: "Is Manchester United's name on that trophy? After today, it's hard to argue against that."
