Summary

  1. 'Rooney can be proud of that second half performance'published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    FT: Leeds 3-0 Plymouth

    Chris Cooper
    BBC Radio Devon

I think most people who watch Argyle on a regular basis can see what Rooney is trying to do.

Of course there will be noise from outside, but I do think it should be largely ignored.

I think Rooney can be proud of that second half performance, some teams would have capitulated.

  2. 'Nobody should be making any rash decisions about the manager'published at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Leeds 3-0 Plymouth

    Anthony Wareing
    BBC Radio Devon commentator

Nobody should be making any rash decisions or stupid comments about the manager after today.

It was attack against defence for most of the game and for most of the game the Argyle defence stood strong, it took a wonder goal and then two scrappy goals to give Leeds the win.

  3. Bayo bouncing and buzzingpublished at 17:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    FT: Sheff Wed 2-6 Watford

    Giulia Bould
    Reporter, BBC Radio Merseyside

Incredible to think Tom Cleverley’s side had lost six on the road coming into this one but they deservedly took the three points in this eight-goal thriller.

Vakoun Bayo, who got four of the goals, is now busy on social media duties for Watford as he films himself dancing with the travelling supporters.

Not many home fans stayed to the final whistle at Hillsborough though.

That's all the Championship action wrapped up for today but stick with us because we've got headlines and reaction coming up.

Give this a post a thumbs up if your team's display has left you feeling fine, and a thumbs down if it's left you feeling... less good.

  6. FULL-TIMEpublished at 17:01 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Preston 1-3 Bristol City

A controversial goal in the first-half is cancelled out by a double of quality ones for the Robins in the second as they go eight games unbeaten and more importantly, grab another win following two straight draws.

Preston equalised through Sam Greenwood's superb free-kick but Bristol City took just three minutes to go back in front via a Nahki Wells header before guaranteeing the three points through Max Bird's low strike into the net.

  7. FULL-TIMEpublished at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Sheff Wed 2-6 Watford

What a day for Watford, as they score SIX to move up to fifth.

Ivory Coast man Vakoun Bayo was the star as his quadruple sees the Hornets end their run of six successive away defeats in emphatic fashion.

It's the first time Watford have scored six goals in an away league game since doing so at Leeds in November 2012.

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    QPR 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland were down to 10 men after Jobe Bellingham put in a high challenge to see a straight red card - though did it change the outcome of the match? Maybe not.

It was not the Black Cats day after collecting only half the shots of their opponents at the bottom and offering very little threat up top.

Uncharacteristic from the Wear side but QPR will surely feel that they played their part in keeping the Cats in their cage.

As a result, QPR gain a worthy point against the league leaders while Sunderland disappointing performance all-round is enough to see them remain on top.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Preston 1-3 Bristol City

Yu Hirakawa departs to a beloved chant of Yuuuuuuu.

A brilliant showing from the forward as his side are destined to take home three points. The sneaky handball likely not going to be forgiven by the home fans following the final whistle, mind.

  10. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Cardiff 2-1 Norwich

What a finish as Cardiff score twice very, very late to win it.

Norwich seemed to be heading for victory when Borja Sainz gave them the lead just after the break with his 11th league goal of the campaign.

But the Norfolk side failed to make the most of the chances they created to see it out with Jak Alnwick denying Sainz and Jack Stacey having an effort cleared off the line.

Callum Robinson then looked as though he'd grabbed Cardiff a point with a deflected shot past George Long but the home side refused to settle for the draw and Callum O'Dowda, who'd set-up Robinson, blasted home to win it.

Omer Riza's claim on the permanent role as Cardiff boss is strengthened as they make it 14 points from a possible 21.

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Hull City 1-1 Portsmouth

Nine draws in their past 14 home games for Hull City now.

A point in the right direction for bottom side Portsmouth, who nearly nicked it right at the end.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Middlesbrough 0-3 Coventry

Haji Wright celebratesImage source, PA Media

The Sky Blues get their first away win of the season in the Championship.

The visitors had already had two goals disallowed before Hayden Hackney was sent-off for Middlesbrough for a second yellow card.

Bobby Thomas gave Coventry the lead at the break before Haji Wright and Josh Eccles added the gloss.

At 1-0 Middlesbrough had chances to level with Johnny Howson and Neto Borges coming close but they'll look to the red card for Hackney as being key.

  13. goal

GOAL: Cardiff 2-1 Norwichpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Callum O'Dowda (90+2 mins)

    Unbelievable Jeff...

Callum O'Dowda set-up the Cardiff equaliser and now he has put his side in front in injury time!

Two shots are blocked before O'Dowda hammers home.

Omer Riza surely has to get the permament job as manager now doesn't he?

  14. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:53 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Leeds 3-0 Plymouth

    Leeds celebrateImage source, Rex Features

This was all done by half-time.

Leeds raced into a 3-0 lead through goals from Joel Piroe, Dan James and Brenden Aaronsen and that was that.

The Whites go up to second and the Pilgrims remain in the relegation zone.

  15. Postpublished at 16:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Hull City 1-1 Portmsouth

The away side almost win it in time added on!

Ivor Pandur makes a great double save to deny Josh Murphy and then Callum Lang on the rebound.

  16. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    QPR 0-0 Sunderland

FIVE minutes to go for QPR to gain a big point against 10-man Sunderland.

Could they even steal all three?

  17. goal

GOAL: Cardiff 1-1 Norwichpublished at 16:51 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Callum Robinson (89 mins)

    Parity in South Wales.

Callum O'Dowda finds Callum Robinson inside the Norwich box and his deflected shot wrong foots George Long and we're all-square!

  18. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 2-6 Watfordpublished at 16:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Vakoun Bayo (88 mins)

Four goals Vakoun Bayo? Four? That's insane.

The man from the Ivory Coast decides that scoring his first hat-trick for Watford isn't enough and goes and gets himself another with a finish from Yasser Larouci's cross.

Some day for the travelling Hornets fans.

  19. goal

GOAL: Preston 1-3 Bristol Citypublished at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Max Bird (81 mins)

That's the three points in the bag.

Yu Hirakawa backheeled a flick towards Max Bird, who drills a low shot into the net to complete a trifecta of goals for all three Robins forwards.

  20. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 16:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November

    Middlesbrough 0-3 Coventry

A double change for Coventry as Haji Wright and Brandon Thomas-Asante take their leave to be replaced by Norman Bassette and Jay Dasilva.
