    I love it, each time one of the Brits crosses the finish line you can hear the crowd roar, they are erupting, they are so into this. They want a British pole sitter, let's see if they can get one.

    Everybody enjoys attacking this circuit in qualifying, it's fast and flowing and there are huge speeds in some of the corners, you are pulling massive G's.

    It is a really iconic circuit and one that we all love.

    Lewis Hamilton goes onto the front row in second but here comes the other Mercedes of George Russell. Can the Austrian Grand Prix winner jump above his McLaren buddy Lando Norris?

    Oscar Piastri goes onto provisional pole but his time is beaten by his McLaren team-mate Lando Norris! The Brit is the car to beat.

  10. There are several McLaren hats in the crowd at Silverstone this weekend. Lando Norris goes quickest in the first sector but his team-mate Oscar Piastri is faster in the middle section.

    The crowd have been amazing here, they always are here at Silverstone but a lot of people just huddled up against the cold. It's not raining at the moment but there are parts that are blue, white heavy clouds and there are some dark ominous grey clouds.

  15. The productivity levels have shot up on Max Verstappen's side of the garage as the team tinker with his car following that earlier damage.

  16. Charles Leclerc highlighted over the team radio he wasn't happy with his tyres and the grip during that Q2 session. His team-mate Carlos Sainz wasn't that much higher than Leclerc in P11, finishing his outing in seventh place.

    I don't think [Verstappen] is in the discussion for pole position right now, I don't think he's got the pace, the damage he is carrying on the floor is significant.

  19. Max Verstappen saves himself but Charles Leclerc is looking over his shoulder. If the Monegasque driver goes out, it'll be because of Lance Stroll.
