We were discussing whether there could be a British one, two and three on the grid, we've now got Max Verstappen in a Red Bull with damage which has increased the chance of that happening quite significantly.

Chequered flag has fallen and Charles Leclerc's time is only good enough for seventh fastest, which now becomes P8. Max Verstappen is in real trouble here down in 12th place...

I've been speaking to Red Bull about Max Verstappen's damage on the car after going on the gravel, and they said it was "significant".

Lance Stroll and Charles Leclerc are both in the bottom five and are both currently on an out lap. The pair are joined by Zhou Guanyu and the two RB drivers in danger.

I don't think we can read into the order quite yet, remember there were many differences in terms of tyre and tyre life in that first run, however, now we get to see where everybody's pace is in the dry.

I've been listening to a lot of the drivers who went out in Q1 and to sum it up they are saying it's a bit like a lottery out there. You can't predict what the track is doing at any point in time and a lot of them are really disappointed with their performance.

Move over, Spanish contingent, there's an Aussie in town. Oscar Piastri climbs above both Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz to go quickest with a 1:26.945.

It's a Spanish top two with Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso leading the way in this Q2 session. Max Verstappen is third and Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton are following close behind.

George Russell, meanwhile, finds himself with work to do down in 12th place.

It seems the Mercedes' were more comfortable in the damp conditions than it is in the dry.

We are not quite at normal service resumed, I mean look where George Russell is down in P15, Lewis Hamilton not even a personal best in Sector One. The track is continuing to improve, it still looks difficult out there.

The soft tyres aren't getting the seal of approval from Charles Leclerc just yet as the Ferrari driver drops to 14th on the board. Now the Monegasque man is complaining of a lack of grip. He crosses the line and can only lift himself into P8.

    Marc Priestley

Max Verstappen is not looking entirely comfortable, it's the two Mercedes right since the start of today that have looked the most comfortable in these changing conditions. A real opportunity for the likes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Will Max Verstappen be hindered by that trip across the gravel in Q1? The Dutchman look liked he picked up a little bit of damage but he's on a flying lap now and as he rounds Club and crosses the line, he goes...

    Fourth fastest.

At this stage in Q2 you tend to see a variation of scrubbed and new tyres, at the end of Q2 everybody will presumably be on a new set.
