  1. Postpublished at 22:19 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland +1, Scott E (8)

Adam Scott in the sand again, this time on the 253-yard par-three eighth, but again his escape is brilliant and again he almost manages to hole out.

Viktor Hovland hits a glorious shot off the tee to 14 feet, leaving a putt straight up the hill, but I think he pulled that one as it was miles off line.

  2. Hatton into top fivepublished at 22:14 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hatton +1 (12)

Another LIV Tour player - Tyrrell Hatton - follows his birdie on the 10th with another on the par-five 12th - he's now one over par for the championship and in a tie for fifth place, four shots off the lead.

  3. Ortiz into third placepublished at 22:11 British Summer Time 14 June

    Ortiz -1 (14)

Another great approach shot to the 14th earns Carlos Ortiz a birdie chance... which he takes to move into third spot on his own.

With the likes of DeChambeau, Rahm, Niemann and others also in the field, Ortiz would probably have been quite low down the list of LIV Tour players you would have expected to be best placed at this stage of the US Open.

  4. Postpublished at 22:11 British Summer Time 14 June

    Koepka +5, SW Kim +5 (10)

It's not a birdie but it an excellent putt from seven feet for Brooks Koepka to save par at the 10th.

Could that springboard his back nine?

  5. Bad miss for Lawrencepublished at 22:07 British Summer Time 14 June

    Henley +2, Lawrence +1 (8)

Back-to-back bogeys for Thriston Lawrence and it's an absolute stinker on eight as he misses his par putt from well inside three feet to make a four.

Not what you need when you're chasing your first major.

  6. Pars apiece for the leaderspublished at 22:05 British Summer Time 14 June

    Burns -3, Spaun -3 (6)

Routine threes on the short sixth for the co-leaders.

  7. Sand savepublished at 22:05 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland +1, Scott E (6)

Lovelty sand save from Adam Scott on six, almost holing out from the greenside bunker on the par three to make sure he stays on level par.

Viktor Hovland is still waiting for his first birdie of the day as he missed from 14 feet after a lovely tee shot. The Norwegian just needs to find a spark from somewhere.

  8. Koepka turns at five overpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 14 June

    Koepka +5, SW Kim +5 (9)

There's another birdie chance for Brooks Koepka as he finishes his front nine, but he watches on as it scoots by the cup once again.

This time he does make sure of the par but needs these to start dropping at some point, if just to inject some life into his challenge.

  9. Birdie for new co-leader Burnspublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 14 June

    Burns -3, Spaun -3 (5)

Sam Burns' pinpoint approach to the fifth yields a birdie which takes him back into a share of the lead with JJ Spaun.

Spaun almost follows him in for a three but his long birdie putt pulls up just short.

  10. Ortiz to level parpublished at 21:53 British Summer Time 14 June

    Ortiz E (12)

Carlos Ortiz had an eight-footer for eagle on the par-five 12th and he didn't quite give it enough juice, but a birdie will do very nicely, putting the Mexican into a share of third place.

  11. Postpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 14 June

    Rahm +4 (14)

We haven't mentioned Jon Rahm's name too much today - the Spaniard has been putting together a solid, unspectacular round of golf.

He's one of the few players to make birdie on the long par-three eighth and he's level par for the day with four holes left to play.

  12. Another bogey for Scottiepublished at 21:50 British Summer Time 14 June

    Scheffler +5 (15)

Scottie Scheffler's the most relaxed man in golf but even he's getting a bit hot under the collar as he makes another bogey to fall further adrift of the leaders.

Still a long way to go but it looks like the world number one won't be contending for the US Open tomorrow.

  13. MacIntyre bogeys the lastpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 14 June

    MacIntyre +3 (69)

Robert MacIntyre misses a 10-footer for par on the last so it's a slightly disappointing end to the Scot's third round.

However, he would have snapped your hand off to be three over for the tournament at the end of today's play.

He's just outside the top 10 at the moment but I'm pretty sure he'll be in there at some point, as those still on the course continue to toil around Oakmont.

  14. Spieth doing Spieth thingspublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 14 June

    Spieth +6 (71)

When I say Jordan Spieth had a pretty typical Jordan Spieth round today then you'll know his one-over 71 was anything but quiet.

The 2015 US Open champion actually got himself to just three over and knocking on the door when he stood on the 15th tee - but he then went on to make a triple bogey and bogey in his next two holes!

A late birdie drew him back to six over but that's likely to be just too far away, even for him.

  15. Spaun back into the leadpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 14 June

    Burns -2, Spaun -3 (4)

Sam Burns and JJ Spaun give themselves makeable birdie putts on the par-five fourth.

Burns' effort slides wide but in drops Spaun's - he's back into the lead on his own.

  16. Birdie for Scottpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland +1, Scott E (4)

Adam Scott makes a four on the fourth, which is a long par five, thanks to a superb second shot from 300 yards which gave him the chance to two-putt his way to a birdie.

Playing in his 24th consecutive US Open, Scott is well in contention here.

  17. Bogey for Koepkapublished at 21:40 British Summer Time 14 June

    Koepka +5, SW Kim +4 (8)

Brooks Koepka puts his hands on his hips ruefully at the eighth green, unsure how what seemed an excellent distance putt has trundled on a further five feet past the hole.

To compound the matter, his par putt flicks the lip and stays up.

Another goes for the five-time major champ.

  18. Lawrence just one backpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 14 June

    Henley +2, Lawrence -1 (6)

Thriston Lawrence rolls in a birdie on the sixth to get to one under and just one shot of the lead.

That's two birdies and no bogeys so far for the South African in what's a very promising start to the day.

  19. Postpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 14 June

    Perez +3, B Griffin +1 (5)

Ben Griffin can't quite work his magic again with the putter on the fifth and, after finding trouble from the tee, cards a bogey.

  20. English players going wellpublished at 21:35 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hatton +2 (10), Rai +5 (16), Wallace +5 (69)

Scotland's Robert MacIntyre is the leading British player at the moment, but just behind him are three English players who are on the fringes of things.

Tyrrell Hatton is putting a very solid week together and he has played his first 10 holes in one under par today.

After consecutive 72s in the first two rounds, Aaron Rai is one over with two left to play - so he's five over for the tournament.

And Matt Wallace is in the clubhouse on that score after a one-under-par 69 in his third round.
