  1. Postpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 14 June

    Koepka +4, SW Kim +4 (4)

A par for Brooks Koepka at the fourth stems the bleeding for the two-time champion.

He stays at four over par

  2. Birdie takes Spaun into share of leadpublished at 20:51 British Summer Time 14 June

    Burns -3, Spaun -3 (1)

JJ Spaun makes the perfect start with a birdie on the first! A breaking putt from about 15 feet just about has enough weight to drop into the cup.

A solid par for Sam Burns, who now has company at the top of the leaderboard.

And, with others struggling, there's now a gap of three shots between this par and the rest.

  3. Bogey startpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland E, Scott +1 (1)

Viktor Hovland rolls in a bogey putt, which he'd probably have takemn when that opening drive went fizzing straight right into the bushes.

Adam Scott found the edge of the green in regulation but took three to get down from there so he too starts with a five, but in a very, very different manner to Hovland.

  4. Bogey for Benpublished at 20:42 British Summer Time 14 June

    Perez +2, B Griffin +1 (2)

That'll sting - a three-putt from 25 feet means Ben Griffin slips back to one over for the tournament.

A 10-foot birdie putt from Victor Perez slides by the left edge and he follows his first-hole bogey with a par on the second.

  5. Bogey for Bobpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 14 June

    MacIntyre +2 (14)

Robert MacIntyre found trouble off the tee at the par-three 13th and went on to drop his first shot of the day.

However, on the next, he's got a 25-footer for birdie to get that one straight back...

No can do on this occasion, but it's a safe par on 14.

  6. Drama for Hovlandpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland -1, Scott E

Good news for Viktor Hovland - he's found his ball.

Bad news for Viktor Hovland - it's deep in a bush.

He has to take an unplayable and drops a ball onto the cart path which he then has to play - real danger here as he also has to aim between two trees.

He plays a wonderful shot, albeit with a slice of luck as the ball seems to glance off one of the trees, but it ends up on the green and he's got two putts from there for a bogey.

Pretty dramatic start to the day!

  7. Postpublished at 20:34 British Summer Time 14 June

    Burns -3, Spaun -2 (20:35 BST)

As we know, things can change very quickly around Oakmont, so as our leaders prepare to hit their opening tee shots, it's prediction time...

Do you think one of these two players will be in the lead at the end of the third round?

Hit the thumbs below - thumbs up for "yes" and down for "no".

    Burns -3, Spaun -2 (20:35 BST)

Burns shines on tough day at Oakmont

And so Saturday's final group set foot onto the first tee, looking to recreate some of the fine form that propelled their names to the top of the leaderboard.

JJ Spaun excellent in a bogey-free 66 on day one, but that was eclipsed by Sam Burns' second-round 65 which meant he had a one-shot lead overnight.

Neither player has won a major before - will this week be their week?

  9. Four birdies in a row!published at 20:33 British Summer Time 14 June

    Neergaard-Petersen +1 (7)

I can't remember too many players this week who have made four birdies in a row, but Denmark's Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen has done just that in the run of holes from the fourth to the seventh.

He dropped a couple of shots early on but has recovered those and more in spectacular fashion.

  10. Postpublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 14 June

    Detry +3 (3)

To box off Thomas Detry, his bunker-hopping did indeed result in a double bogey.

Down he drops to three over par.

  11. Koepka falls backpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 14 June

    Koepka +4, SW Kim +4 (3)

Is the US Open saying goodbye to Brooks Koepka's challenge?

It's another sloppy bogey for the two-time champion at three after a duff chip leaves him 31 feet for par.

    Away it slides.

He's joined at +4 by partner Kim Si-woo who cards an ugly double bogey at the same hole.

  12. Fore! Reload...published at 20:29 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland -1, Scott E

Oh dear, among the very last thing you want when teeing off in the third round of a major, near the top of the leaderboard, is to slice your drive miles right off the tee and have to go get another ball and hit a provisional.

That's how Viktor Hovland's day has started...

  13. Bogey for Perezpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 14 June

    Perez +2, B Griffin E (1)

Victor Perez found the left rough from the tee and the result is a bogey five for the Frenchman.

Ben Griffin, three off the lead, starts with a solid par.

  14. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 14 June

    Henley +2, Lawrence +1 (1)

A couple of pars to open up the day for these two and pretty stress-free holes for both as well - a nice gentle start to what could be a big day.

  15. 'I got US Opened' - Hovlandpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland -1 (20:24 BST)

Viktor Hovland played beautifully for most of his round on Friday, but made a double bogey after only just missing the fairway - as Oakmont showed him just how fine the margins are in this US Open.

    Viktor Hovland
  16. Postpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 14 June

    Stevens +1 (6)

Sam Stevens has made a big jump up the leaderboard thanks to back-to-back birdies at the third and fourth a little earlier.

He's T6 at one over and his two under is currently the second-best score out there on the course - only Bob MacIntyre (-3 for his round) is playing a better one.

  17. Postpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 14 June

    Leishman +4 (68)

Australia's Marc Leishman had a great round going at one stage - he was four under for the day after 13 holes.

However, three consecutive bogeys on 14, 15 and 16 stalled his momentum and he'll sign for a two-under 68 in the scorer's hut.

Of the 19 completed rounds so far today, only two of them have been under par and Leishman's 68 is the lowest.

  18. Postpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time 14 June

    Detry +1 (2)

    There we go Thomas Detry!

He's backed up his birdie at the second by finding the Church Pews bunker on three, then hopping to the other side of the fairway to pick out another trap.

His third shot is a chunk out of there into another hunk of sand off the side of the green.

    Damage limitation time here.

  19. Hatton into top 10 as Bob birdies 12thpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hatton +2 (4), MacIntyre +1 (12)

The European challenge is gaining some momentum...

A 10-footer for birdie on the fourth moves Tyrrell Hatton to two over par.

Meanwhile, Robert MacIntyre did make birdie on the 12th and is one stroke better off.

  20. Postpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 14 June

    Hovland -1, Scott E (20:24 BST)

Enthralling pairing here coming up with former Masters champion Adam Scott looking for his second major, 12 years after slipping on the Green Jacket at Augusta National.

Viktor Hovland was among the best in the world just a couple of years ago, but problems with his swing and then his confidence left his game in tatters.

But the Norwegian is fighting his way back and has played beautifully so far - could the winner come from this pair?
