  1. Grace Kim and Henderson toilpublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 1 August

    Kim +2, Henderson +2 (15)

Reigning Evian Championship winner Grace Kim is battling to beat the cut. She's just dropped a shot on the par-three 15th to slip to two over, which is probably where the cut line will be set.

The Australian is in the same group as Canadian two-time major winner Brooke Henderson, who is also in that nervous position on two over.

Eagle chance from just off the back of the green for England’s Charley Hull on 13.

The downhill putt is delicately done and leaves her with just a short one for birdie which she knocks in to move back to one over.

A good chunk of the late crowd are here following this group, making the most of the glorious sunshine.

  4. Hull bags a birdiepublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +1, M Lee -1, Thitikul -4 (13)

Charley Hull reaps the rewards of her aggressive approach shot as she notches her third birdie of the round with a two-putt on the green at the 13th.

Hull is one over for the championship and with a bit of breathing room as she bids to make the cut - which is currently at two over par.

Jeeno Thitikul and Minjee Lee have to settle for par.

  5. Saigo safe for the weekendpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 1 August

    Saigo +1 (76)

Mao Saigo, who was two shots off the lead overnight, has spent the last part of her second round battling to make the cut.

The Japanese player, who won the Chevron Championship earlier this year, waited until the 18th to make just a second birdie of the day - courtesy of a wonderful escape from the sand trap to within five feet.

A par down the last probably would have been enough, but a birdie secures her spot in the final two rounds.

Charley Hull's approach shot on the par-five 13th goes skimming on to the green, but overshoots the pin. Still, there's an outside chance of an eagle and a definite opportunity for a birdie.

Jeeno Thitikul is also very much in with a shout of clipping a shot or two off her score.

  7. 'So far, so good for home contingent'published at 17:09 British Summer Time 1 August

    L Hall E (10)

Wales has only two representatives in this tournament in Darcey Harry and Lydia Hall.

Neither began the week with any great expectations on their shoulders, but both have gone well so far.

While Harry has long since finished at two under for the tournament, Hall has just negotiated the difficult 10th with more comfort than most to stay at level par.

So far, so good for the small home contingent.

  8. 'I didn't see it go in' - Kyriacou on hole-in-onepublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 1 August

    Kyriacou E (70)

Steph Kyriacou made a hole-in-one on the eighth earlier today and spoke to the media about it afterwards:

"I didn't see it go in, which sucked, but the crowd went nuts and I heard the flag. It didn't damage the hole, which was surprising, so it was quite clean.

"I didn't want to celebrate if it didn't go in the hole. I thought maybe it hit the flag and just went somewhere, so the reaction is probably pretty cool for a hole-in-one. I just gave a running high five when we got to the green."

Asked about how she will celebrate: "I think everyone is going to use it as an excuse to get drunk on my team. I'm happy to do that for them (laughs)."

  9. Okayama bogeys againpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 1 August

    Okayama -1 (5)

What's happened to Eri Okayama? The Japanese co-leader overnight has just errored on the fifth, bogeying for the fourth time already this round.

She continues to slide out of contention.

  10. Postpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hataoka -3 (16)

After flying out of the blocks Nasa Hataoka has found it much tougher going on the back nine. She nearly slides in a lengthy birdie putt at the 16th, but ends up settling for par.

Her five-under round in the tougher conditions today is looking every bit as good as Miyu Yamashita's seven-under-par score this morning.

  11. Consecutive birdies for Thitikulpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +2, M Lee -1, Thitikul -4 (12)

Jeeno Thitikul has a spring in her step after she leaves the 12th hole having banked back-to-back birdies to move to four under.

Par for Minjee Lee and Charley Hull.

  12. Birdie for Fuenfstueckpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 1 August

    Fuenfstueck -4 (3)

Germany's Laura Fuenfstueck, in the final three-ball of the day, chips in from the fairway for a birdie three on the third to get to four under.

    A very welcome bonus.

She's in a four-way tie for third spot, but seven shots off the lead.

  13. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 1 August

    A Lee -3, A Yang -1, Maguire E (13)

American Andrea Lee has a chance at a fourth birdie of the day, but just squeezes her effort narrowly wide and settles for par.

In the same group, Ireland's Leona Maguire saves par to stay level, but South Korean Amy Yang knocks in her second consecutive birdie to go one under.

  14. Hull saves parpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +2, M Lee -1, Thitikul -3 (11)

Charley Hull's approach shot to the green on the 11th hole leaves her sandwiched on a thin strip of grass between two bunkers.

Hull putts from off the green and sees her birdie effort flash just wide of the hole before tapping in for par.

Jeeno Thitikul's aggressive approach brings sets up a simple birdie putt which she promptly dispatches. No such luck for Minjee Lee, who drops to one under with a bogey.

  15. Okayama bogeys againpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 1 August

    Okayama -2 (4)

It's not Eri Okayama's day. A co-leader overnight, Okayama has just bogeyed the fourth, her third bogey across her first four holes to go slip nine shots off the leader Miyu Yamashita.

This time she slides a four-footer wide of the cup.

  16. Porthcawl 'fun and challenging' - Sagstrompublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 1 August

    Sagstrom -3 (69)

    Madelene SagstromImage source, PA Media

Sweden's Madelene Sagstrom, twice a top-five finisher at the Women's Open, shot a three-under-par 69 today to put her three under for the tournament - which is worth a tie for seventh at the moment.

She spoke to the media earlier about the challenge of Royal Porthcawl:

"You have to keep it in play. If you're staying on the fairway, it's a lot easier to get control over the ball and you have to putt well. The greens are a bit tricky. Sometimes they break, sometimes they don't. It's links golf. You really have to strike the ball well in links golf, especially if it starts blowing.

    "It's good. It's fun. It's challenging. I don't know how somebody's 11 under, that's a different story."

On her prospects for the weekend: "I think that we're probably expecting a little bit more wind over the weekend, maybe a bit of weather.

"It is one shot at a time out there. Trying to stay creative, trying to stay free and just really for me it's kind of 'paint a good picture of what shot I'm trying to hit and then commit to that'."

A groan goes up around the 10th green as Charley Hull misses a short putt for par.

But Hull is not the first player to come unstuck on this hole, with the wind not helping and the pin a very awkward position.

Jeeno Thitikul and Minjee Lee can both pleased with hard-earned pars, because four is a good score on 10 right now.

  19. Hull bogeys the 10thpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +2, M Lee -2, Thitikul -2 (10)

Charley Hull has a relatively routine putt for par at the 10th, but overcooks it and mumbles something to herself. Putting is not easy when the wind gusts up.

She avoids the double bogey but moves to two over.

Neither Jeeno Thitikul nor Minjee Lee have shown signs they will be troubling the leaders. Lee has yet to make a birdie and Thitikul has just a couple to her name.

  20. Okayama saves parpublished at 16:18 British Summer Time 1 August

    Okayama -3 (3)

    That's more like it.

Eri Okayama stops the run of bogeys, sinking a putt from about five feet for par.
