  1. Hull taps in for parpublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +1, M Lee -2, Thitikul -2 (5)

Charley Hull finds the green on the fifth hole but faces a lengthy putt for birdie. It's an attacking effort but she overcooks it and returns to tap it in.

Neither Minjee Lee nor Jeeno Thitikul are able to take birdie chances on the hole.

    Pars all round.

  3. Korda 'happy to manage conditions' after level-par roundpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 1 August

Nelly Korda declared herself satisfied with a level-par round of 72 after making four birdies in the final seven holes at Royal Porthcawl.

The world number one, who stayed two under par for the tournament, rued her failure to take advantage of benign conditions in the early part of her round.

Korda was two over for the day at the 12th tee, having made two bogeys and no birdies up until that point.

But she then carded three birdies in the next four holes and picked up another shot on the par-five 18th.

"Honestly I didn't really capitalise on anything in the calmer conditions on the front nine, then kind of got really windy on the back," the American said.

"I made a few more mistakes but bounced back with some birdies. Overall, I'm not going to complain with even par.

"Definitely the ball in the morning doesn't fly as far [because it was cold]. But with it being calm, it kind of evened out. Then once you kind of started getting to the back nine, the winds started really picking up. Overall, [I am] happy with how I managed the conditions today."

  4. Hull birdies fourthpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +1, M Lee -2, Thitikul -2 (4)

A great drive and then an even better approach gives England's Charley Hull a shot at a birdie from a few feet out.

This time the wind on the green drops a little and Hull sinks her putt into the middle of the hole.

She's back to level par for the day.

    Hataoka -2 (8)

Japan's Nasa Hataoka has made a flying start to her second round.

Starting on two over par, she's birdied four of the first eight holes to get to two under, which is good enough for her to be on the brink of the top 10.

  6. Woad 'happy with recovery' after triple bogeypublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 1 August

    Woad -2 (70)

Lottie Woad, speaking to Sky Sports about her triple-bogey seven at the 16th hole:

"It's probably playing the toughest hole of the day. I hit a good drive but pushed the three-wood a bit and it went in the one thick bit over there.

"I got a bit unlucky with that but then took my medicine afterwards and ended up making a seven.

"I'm happy with how I recovered after it. I was a bit angry after that but I just had to move on quickly."

Woad had been in the top five before that setback, but eventually finished two under par for the day and for the tournament.

  7. Hull bogeys thirdpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +2, M Lee -2, Thitikul -2 (3)

You can see the flag wobbling in the hole as the wind whips across the third green.

Charley Hull has a four-footer for par but the ball just skids right at the last moment and lips out.

There's a first miss of the day from Jeeno Thitikul too who slides a six-footer for par wide of the hole. Bogeys for both.

  8. Cut mark at one over parpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 1 August

One over par is now the mark required to make the cut. Clearly a few players slipping back as the wind begins to lift.

Only the top 65 players and ties will make it through to the weekend in south Wales.

  9. Pars all round in Hull grouppublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +1, M Lee -2, Thitikul -3 (2)

Another par save from England's Charley Hull on the second.

World number two Jeeno Thitikul and Women's PGA Championship winner Minjee Lee also save pars.

Remember, the chat from the pros is that the first few holes of this course are notoriously tricky. Get them out them out the way, and then the scoring chances will hopefully present themselves.

  10. Second eagle of day for Kyriacou!published at 13:55 British Summer Time 1 August

    Kyraicou E (70)

Well that's some way to finish a very eventful round for Steph Kyriacou!

The Australian, who produced a hole-in-one at the eighth earlier today, holes her bunker shot for an eagle three at the 18th to end at level par.

A birdie there would probably have been enough for her to make the cut. An eagle has made it almost certain.

  11. Korda finishes on two underpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 1 August

    Jutanugarn +1, Korda -2, Yin -1 (F)

American world number one Nelly Korda finishes her round with an even par by birdying the last to stay on two under for the tournament.

Korda had to battle trough a frustrating front nine, but has birdied four of the last seven holes to give herself an outside chance.

  12. Hull with great par save on opening holepublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +1, M Lee -2, Thitikul -3 (1)

Charley Hull finds herself in the rough beside the first green but plays a delightful chip to escape that trouble and sinks a par putt from about four feet.

World number two Jeeno Thitikul opens with a 10-footer for birdie to get to three under.

  13. Harry aims high heading into weekendpublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 1 August

Darcey Harry was left to rue the two double bogeys which restricted her to a level-par second round of 72 - but remains upbeat as she prepares to play the weekend at a major for the first time.

Wales’ Harry made five birdies as she twice reached four under par at Royal Porthcawl, but was pegged back by doubles at the 10th and par-three 15th.

"It’s a bit disappointing because the two doubles came out of nowhere, it wasn't really terrible golf," she said.

"But that just shows what can happen on a links course. It was two bad tee shots and then the [double] on the par three I had a really unlucky lie."

Harry, 22, is in her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour and is playing just her second major.

She missed the cut at the Evian Championship last month but is well placed at two under after two rounds on the south Wales coastline.

"I am quite far back but I think a top-10 is definitely a good goal for this week," Harry said.

  15. England's Hull under waypublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 1 August

    Hull +1, M Lee -2, Thitikul -2

Another marquee group have hit their opening tee shots of the day.

Charley Hull starts at one over so a level-par round is probably the bare minimum she needs to make the weekend. Her first shot goes right into the rough, into a trampled-down area of grass. Possibly a bit of a result.

World number two Jeeno Thitikul and Women's PGA Championship winner Minjee Lee shot two-under rounds of 70 yesterday.

  16. Triple bogey costs Woadpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 1 August

There are plenty of cheers and applause hundreds of fans gathered to watch Lottie Woad stride onto the 18th green.

She’s on in three and has left herself with five feet to end the round on a high.

It races a few feet past the hole, but she tidies up for a round of 70 which means she’s two under for the championship.

A decent round but one that could have been so much better but for the nightmare triple bogey on 16.

  17. Par for Kordapublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 1 August

    Jutanugarn +1, Korda -1, Yin E (17)

American Nelly Korda finally finds a par, for the first time in seven holes, and stays on one under with a hole to go.

It's just not been her round today.

  18. Woad shoots 70 to finish two underpublished at 13:22 British Summer Time 1 August

    Woad -2, Ko +2, Vu +7 (F)

Lottie Woad fluffs a putt for a birdie at the 18th but slides in a knee-knocker to finish with a round of 70. She is two under for the championship.

Defending champion Lydia Ko also finishes with a par after a round of 73. At two over she faces a nervous wait to see if she will make the cut. Probably odds against at the moment, but you never know...

Lilia Vu will not make it into the weekend, though. A round of 77 leaves her seven over.

  19. Postpublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 1 August

Pajaree Anannarukarn dropped her first shot of the day at the 14th but remains alone in third spot at six under par.

A shot further back is Switzerland's Chiara Tamburlini, who has made an eagle three at the 13th to catapult herself into the top five.

Still six shots off the lead though - Miyu Yamashita will be hard to catch.
